It's kind of like Ike, in the character

On paper it doesn't work.

But...

It does.
The point I'm trying to make isn't disregard Rollout ALTOGETHER, its that Rollout should be used RARELY. And I mean RAAAAAAAAAAAARELY. Once a set at most (not counting recovery, sweetspotting the ledge). If the mindgame works more than three times in a set tops, the player you are facing should be ashamed. That kind of rare.

Melon, its not a great move, but it CAN work. Its kind of like Yoshi's Egg Roll. That move seems like complete ****, but it works if you use it as a mix up every so often. Rollout is no bread and butter move, but it is one of Jigg's options and it CAN work if your opponent isnt ready for it.

That's my point! I swear, if somebody says a move should be used less, they automatically consider them saying its a never. It's not a bread-and-butter move. It IS an option, hell EVERY one of Puff's moves is an option. The point I'm making is it shouldn't be in Puff's Top 15 choices in a moment other than the certain rare scenarios that we've listed. It should be a rare move, not a common occurrence. i.e. You gotta keep the Aura Sphere outta the opponent's mind to use it to its full potential with Lucario. Don't use it and just let it sit for a solid 2 minutes or so, then throw it right in their face when they screw up their spacing. Its a similar principle. That's the point I was trying to make. Hell, I'm like the only Falco player who even thinks of using dtilt, but hell if I don't throw one out every 5 stocks or so! Sorry for being misinterpreted like that, I don't want Rollout to go unused altogether, its just supposed to be one of the "wtf is he doing, CRAP." moves that should surprise your opponent, not a move your opponent sees frequently from you every set you play.

No joke, I really do feel like an old man posting in here. I think I'm one of like 5 people that have posted in here over the past 2 years that was on here before October of 2006. Everybody else is like from late '09 and last year. I'm a ****ing grandpa XD.

Minks like, good though.

Dsmash should never be used.
It'd be a better move of the hitbox was on her hair curl, and nothing else.

Aslo, I've gotten legit accurate with Rest lately.

Killed a Mario near the ledge with dsmash because of his RCOlag :awesome:
I really used the dsmash just to troll with it.

Falco's sideB?
Nair tho. :applejack:
Thank you!

That's really all you need to do, just don't be dumb, don't get close to Falco when he does it!

At the same time though, just overall having to be the one to initiate any action in the matchup is MAD annoying, and Falco can pretty much just stand still and either jab, ftilt, utilt, nair, etc. accordingly. It's a matter of placing your quick moves just outside of his range to see if you can get him to bite and try and counter you. Then you punish, rinse, and repeat.

@DisqoBunny - if that's all we got, I suppose. :glare:

I don't think rollout is as bad as 90% of the community says at all. It's bad on paper. But I find it very useful in CERTAIN situations such as recovering and reversed rollout vs falcos/ bad recovering characters. Using rollout to the other side when very high, has been usefull for me quit some times.

As an attack it sucks. But it's not as bad as most of you say it is if used not as an attack:/.

I remember spawning 3 pages of discussion by saying I killed 3 people with one rollout.

So yeah, it has its uses. Like giving puffs something to talk about.

Falco's will usually shoot a laser before the phantasm. And it's hard to get the timing to Oos nair (or nair from a crouch) with that dumb lasers hitstun.

Somebody's too close to the Falco when he does it.
If you're not close and you try to do it you'll just end up getting double lazered into dacused to the face.

A good falco or at least the falco I fought at COT5 dosn't do phantom until I'm close enough that I can't react to it. And when I'm not close enough to attack he'll just spam lazers and dacus.

If you want to know how the match went it went like this, Falco runs away from you on BF shooting lazers, get too close and he'll phantom to the other side, but he'll only phantom if you can't punish it if you shield it, try to jump and nair, get shot in the face into phantom or DACUSed. Try to go over the platforms, yeah by the time you get to the other side, he'll be on the side you just came from. Get a small hit every once in a while, but doesn't compare to the damage he is dealing to you. Then he lets you in one time on purpouse so you can eat a fsmash to the face and die at 60%.

Crouching/ledgrabbing/scouring all **** Falco but its no good when he gets the first hit, which he will always get.

My solution to this dumb matchup is to pick a different character. Unfournatly, Diddy has a huge problem with him as well.

Falco is actually my specialty as puff.

Also, as far as the laser-dacus

you think we could rest the dacus upon miracle-reflex's if we got hit with the laser?

Well yeah, you vs Falco is bad, but not Diddy.
I myself have a lot of trouble against Diddy, too damn hard. And Rob is supposedly even with him.

But yeah, I think you could rest the dacus. I don't think you need awesome reflexes. You just need to read it, just like you do against his sideB.
Yesterday I was chaingrabbed by Sopo and his timing wasn't perfect so I killed him with a rest in middle of the cg. If it works for that, should work for Falcos usmash too.

Also, good luck @Apex Puffs, too bad I live in an igloo with my pet penguin and can't attend :(

I'm also gonna ask this now before I flip out about it later. I BETTER NOT BE THE ONLY NON-BRONY PUFF ON THIS FONZ-FORSAKEN BOARD!!!!!
You're not the only one.

To be fair, I enjoyed MLP before it became mainstream, but the fanbase absolutely ruined the experience for me.
