i was so hyped watching armada vs mango.

After commentating winners finals, i was like" grandfinal's is going to be sick"
so i just standing on the stage watching the histrory in the making

matches like those in person are so insane, Everybody was watching,even the brawl players and they was suppose to be playing there winners finals.

cant wait til pound 5 and genesis 2

I'm not sure about the order but here are what I think are some of the greatest Smash matches ever.

The match where the Wombo Combo was performed.

M2K vs PP where the famous Mew2King combo was performed.

M2K vs KDJ was pretty hardcore

Apex Grand and Winners finals (TEAMS ONLY)

Genesis where Mango beat armada with a rest (GF)

Pound 4 matches :awesome:

ROM3 Grand Finals (Singles)

Not enough mention of Azen-Ken MLG comeback. That game changed smash forever, maybe more than any match in history.

Gotta include teams sets too. Lucky's comeback v. Ken/Isai, Groom Blue v. El Chocolate Diablo (esp. when Groom Blue finally beat them), Jman/M2k v. Lucky/Mango APEX, etc.

This grand final is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to Melee. It was at the same time the redefinition of highest-level metagame, and a long, intense, psychologic, close duel between the amazing Mango and the European outsider Armada.

I **** my pants when I watched the sets the first time. **** was so cash srsly.

dude i got bored of marth that's a big reason why I've always been mixing it up over the years and always change what I do (also lack of playing anyone / lack of playing melee makes me play differently all the time). I don't really play anymore and I don't have a controller anymore I wasn't expecting to show up to rom3 or to do as well as I did

this is completely unrelated but my favorite tournament of all time was probably Apex1. Too bad inui doesn't have that place anymore =(

Seriously that match had everything the score was 3-3 EK had win all tournaments for a long time.
Then Nihonjin changed everything in that match. That comeback when the score is 3-3 is something that only have happend once and i think we never will seeing that again

Then i have no idea :p

this is deff up there. it just shows us that no matter who youre up against, no matter how bad things seem, you can still win.

Look at the spot dodge reads KDJ does I mean both of them goin mr try hard on this one the match is like all reads between both players lol.

0. Mango vs Armada (Genesis)
I was there. Genesis GFs were among the most exciting moments of my life, and I'm pretty sure a lot of people can say the same. I remember feeling a little empty during the last two stocks of match 2.4; I thought it was over, and then Mango blew me away.

The others are in no particular order because they were chosen based on hype, importance, and gameplay... so it's sorta hard to give a composite ranking. Also, all the matches I put are 2007 and later... mainly because I started playing in mid 2007.

I apologize in advance if my Arizona bias becomes too evident.

  • Mew2king vs Armada (Apex 2): Sounds sorta cheesy, but the gameplay in these matches was just awe-inspiring. I wanted M2k to win, but whatever.
  • Mew2king vs Armada (Pound 4): Same as Apex.
  • Axe vs Jman (Apex 2): I was so hyped on the live stream seeing my buddy get off on Apex losers bracket. A lot of sick plays by Axe. I personally didn't like Axe vs DaShizWiz that much because it seemed Shiz was sorta... I don't know. It seemed he was getting punished by being too brave lol. I don't know how to explain it, but it just seemed that something was missing in the gameplay.
  • Wobbles vs DaShizWiz (Apex 2): Good play, good hype
  • Wobbles vs Dr. Peepee (Apex 2): The ending was depressing for me because of my Arizona bias, but it was sorta like a sequel to Wobbles vs DaShizWiz.
  • Forward vs Mew2king (Smashtality 3): Good matches. Not too much hype, but I liked them.
  • PC Chris vs ChuDat (OC3)
  • PC Chris vs Mew2king (OC3)
  • SilentSpectre vs TAJ (DGDTJ, not Mango Juice)
  • Axe vs SilentSpectre (CGC 21)
