If an IC player wins the game with 4 stocks and 0%, but Nana got hit a few times, what would it officially be called? Is it a jv 5? Or not because technically you took damage? jv 4.5 stock?

If an Ice Climbers player's Nana dies on the last stock, but then Popo finishes off the opponent for a win, does it only count as a half win because the ice climbers half-lost their last stock? No. Popo is all that matters, I would consider that a full JV5.

Really? I would disagree. Every time you lose a stock, both Popo and Nana are refreshed in a sense. If Nana is hit, then she's no longer fresh (which is something that you regain as part of losing a stock). I thought JV was about beating your opponent when your stock is completely fresh and untouched. If Nana is hit, then part of your stock wouldn't be fresh anymore, would it?

I was thinking about this a few days ago. I wouldn't count it as a JV because the idea of a JV is that your stock is fresh and untouched. You can check whether Nana got hit by looking at the opponent's damage given at the end of the match.

EDIT: MT basically covered it. He even said "fresh and untouched" lol. Man everyone's stealing my ideas before I say them, don't you hate when that happens?

You can "do" damage to shy guys and the eggz on Brinstar I think. As far as Im concerned Popo @ 0% with 4 stocks equals JV5. If they are both at 0% you might as well call that a 5 stock.

I see no reason to try and cheapen this event solely because you are too much of a ***** to admit you got *****.

If Nana was dead then it becomes a JV5 again lol? Mad gay.

2 phantoms dont count
3 taking self damage aka pichu or offstage **** doesnt count.

Lol. Why are you guys assuming that those of us who think Nana getting hit cancels a JV are just trying to john/cheapen the event? I wasn't even thinking about something like that when I made my post. If someone JV4/5'd me with a hurt Nana I'd still know I got ***** regardless if I personally consider it a JV4 or JV5 or whatever.

And to be able to JV4/5 someone with the condition that Nana hasn't been hurt just glorifies the event should it occur anyways.

yes in terms of ****ing somebody up. they didn't damage or hit you so its fair to say that in terms of a combo or good offense.

no, when speaking tactically. something like im down 1 to 2 stocks. you are at 57 and the opportunities is at 0. you need to ztd in order to be in a position to win. so can't afford any damage.

mu opinion on it. probably doesn't count at all lol
