I believe Fire Emblem's 20th anniversary is this weekend. Why do you think Ike will be revealed Tomorrow or Monday?
What significance do those days have? Why do you think Ike will be revealed Tomorrow or Monday?
Super Smash Bros. Fan said that Ike might be revealed one of those days. I was asking why. Now I know it is the fire emblem anniversary on the 20th.What significance do those days have?
Oh cool, but they probably won't do anything cause they've missed lots of other anniversary'sSuper Smash Bros. Fan said that Ike might be revealed one of those days. I was asking why. Now I know it is the fire emblem anniversary on the 20th.
Peach was revealed on Super Mario Bros.'s 29th anniversary, although the Super Mario 3D World was released later after, it's reserved for Rosalina. We missed Pokemon reveals on Pokemon X and Y's release date, Lucario was revealed later on Brawl's 6th anniversary (maybe Smash Bros 64's 15th anniversary has been fulfilled with that as well), and while the upcoming Pokemon game is Pokemon Battle Trozei, it was reserved for Greninja. Little Mac also revealed on Punch Out!!'s 30th anniversary.Oh cool, but they probably won't do anything cause they've missed lots of other anniversary's
No one ever revealed on MondayThere's always Monday.
And then Sakurai slaps Ike in a PotD on Monday just to throw another notion like that in the dumpster. No one ever revealed on Monday
Please no. How about giving Ganondorf his own move set and keeping Ike?I posted this in the Ganondorf-thread aswell:
How would you recieve Ganondorf taking Ike's (if Ike where to be cut) moveset? To me the moveset would make some sense. He'd get to use his sword and have more of a heavy hitting swordman style. Personally I think I'd actually would be okey with it. I would ofcourse prefer a unique moveset for Ganondorf involving both dark magic and sword while keeping Ike. But this is assuming Ike where to be gone and I would atleast want to see his moveset stay in. If so via Ganondorf. Rather than having "Captain Ganondorf" yet again.
For me atleast, the main reason I want Ike to stay is because I really like his moveset, more then I am into his character. Ofcourse there could be another FE-character coming in and taking his moves, but the most possible FE-candidates doesn't really fit his style imo.
Make it half Ike and half Falclone.Yeah, and besides Ganondorf isn't all about the swords. He also uses magic/powers and that aspect of his character has to be respected as well.
Yes that sounds amazing but tbh I'd prefer the avatar character from awakening but that's just my opinionI dont't think Ike will be revealed this week, I mean, Sakurai revealed five characters less than two weeks ago... Also wouldn't it be awesome getting Ike revealed in Chrom's trailer? Like Charizard with greninja. We could get an awesome sword fight with Marth and Ike, and then Chrom awakens to battle! (Or something like that haha)
It would be awesome too, but I don't think we get the Avatar without getting Chrome first... Maybe we can get both (it's unlikely but theres still hope)Yes that sounds amazing but tbh I'd prefer the avatar character from awakening but that's just my opinion
I just think he'd be more unique and that's what sakurai seems to care more about, as evidenced by having rosalina over more important mario characters, the villager over characters like tom nook and greninja over more important pokemon like mewtwoIt would be awesome too, but I don't think we get the Avatar without getting Chrome first... Maybe we can get both (it's unlikely but theres still hope)
You would end up taking way a lot of Ganon's potential uniqueness.Guys...
Ofcourse I too want Ganondorf to get his own moveset more than anything. I said so in my post. This was hyphotetical if Ike was confirmed to be cut. As said, I just really like Ikes moveset. So even if he was removed as a character I'd like to see that stay in the game. I just found it decently fitting for Ganondorf (much more fitting than his current moves. The magic visual effects he has now could just as well be applied to Ikes moves). If I could have anything I want I would keep Ike in and give Ganondorf a sword, combined with magic-based moveset + adding a FE-character that uses a non-sword weapon.
I feel some of you got a bit offended and thought this was my idea of the ideal way or solution. Thats not it at all and I by no means wanted to offend any fellow Ike suporter. I am just personally more fond of his moveset than his character and care more about that staying in than Ike himself grabbing a spot. Maybe that is controversial as well in here though! ^^
I have to admit, I was under the assumptions that that was a large group/the majority of Smash people. It seems I might have underestimated the fan base for Ike as a character and people who like Ganondorfs current movesetYour idea doesn't really fix anything and would only satisfy people who both don't care about Ike and don't like playing as Ganon...
Terrible idea. Ike's moves in Brawl are very much inspired by his animations in Fire Emblem Path of Radiance. It's already bad that Ganondorf takes so much after Captain Falcon, but at least Captain Falcon's moves are completely made up. Ganondorf doing Aether and Quick Draw is just... Cringe worthy.I posted this in the Ganondorf-thread aswell:

So you would rather see Ikes moveset dissapear if he was cut? Or have his moveset taken over by a FE rep (assuming there will be one)?...Ganondorf doing Aether and Quick Draw is just... Cringe worthy.
If ike's cut I wanna just see the moveset and the character leave as a whole because then I'd just hate the character that took his movesetSo you would rather see Ikes moveset dissapear if he was cut? Or have his moveset taken over by the new FE rep?
Agree to disagree on the last part. Seeing those moves made by Ganondorf would not look weird at all to me. Since he would obviously have different visual effects for the moves. If I was a designer I think giving those moves a 'Ganondorf flair' would be a an easy job (especially the quick draw, just give it the purple flame effects his current falcon kick has and it would be nothing like an FE move anymore. Would look perfectly fitting for a Ganon thing imo ).
Fire Emblem always has had two characters. It'll most likely have at least two characters to this time. And to me, Ike is still the most likely. And I bet here, in the Ike thread, people will want this to happen very much. It's no gurantee that Ike will be cut only because Roy was cut from Brawl! Marth and Ike are nothing like each other, and even though being blue haired sword Lords, their style is an amazing contrast. With Toon Link and Sheik returning, I see no reason to cut Ike. His moveset was unique, and he was an extremely popular request for Brawl. Little Mac came from a game that came out 1 year later than Ike's last appearance as a main character... There is just no need for Ike to leave. So you would rather see Ikes moveset dissapear if he was cut? Or have his moveset taken over by a FE rep (assuming there will be one)?

They would never give Ike's exact moveset to another character, since all his animations are heavily based on animations from the two games he starred in. Just because he's a heavy, strong sword user, doesn't mean that his moveset it compatable with any other heavy, strong sword user.I posted this in the Ganondorf-thread aswell:
