I also liked Crystal Shards just for the the 3-D making it seem epic + the score.
Superstar Ultra is great though and very replayable, of course.
I don't own it though :'(

you see, rpg stands for role playing game, and in metroid you are playing the role of samus, an intergalatic bounty hunter.

it is also a game, hence role playing game.

Just because the acronym literally isn't RPAACTRYCFG (Roleplaying-As-A-Character-That-Represents-Your-Corporeal-Form Game) doesn't mean the accepted interpretation is wrong.

I *kind* of agree with Luke's "technicality" - while you *can* break phrases down into into words and analyse each individually to get an IDEA of the whole phrase, it really serves no purpose to treat this as hard evidence for reasons beyond trolling.

The true purpose of a RPG is to simulate real-life in a virtual world. Levelling up/grinding is analogous to growing up/gaining education/learning skills.
Playing as a hero ≠ RPG.
Growing your character INTO a hero = RPG.
