...I'd like some training, as a few of you can tell from my avatar, pit is my main, but mk is my secondary, IDK but from the first day I played him, he just felt natural too me, I guess its because he is more of a offensive character, and I've always been an offensive player, so he felt perfect for me, but, unlike pit, I haven't trained with him nearly as much, nor do I know any tricks or anything with MK, so I'd like to see how the best MK here plays, and see what I can learn from him.:)

To be honest theres not a whole lot you can learn about MK. There obviously is things u need to learn and he isnt just a charachter u pick up and master like most people claim he is but, once you do learn most of these things its just how you play as a brawler, how well u can adapt to ure opponents playing style and charachter. Btw i dont know who the best MK around here is :p

Don't train with MK on WiFi.

Offline MK and online MK are two completely different characters.

major disagreement in return. The lag on wifi (even little or no claimed lag) still can mess up follow ups and timings on MK's attacks... it's much different on and offline....
^ this is very true, but this guy could still get a good idea of what to do in certain situations with mk by playing a good player online and yeah mk is nerfed online.

Meh, I see where your coming from I suppose. I feel like it wouldn't show completely though coming out with late hits and whatnot. So he might not recognize it at the time. Idk maybe its just me, I just feel so limited by Wifi. I'm done here, headed out. Pce.

nah.....I know exactly what I'm missing..humilation, frustration, and aggrivation is all I'd get if I went to a tourny, I get enough of the last 2 from work, I don't need humilation as well...if you'd seen how I played in melee, you'd be laughing your *** off.....lvl 9s are all I played, all my friends were sony fanboys, wouldn't touch a nintendo game, let alone melee, so all I could do was face lvl 9s, didn't ever have time, or the will to go to a REAL tourny and get my *** whipped, however, in brawl, I CAN finnaly face real people, and I don't even have to leave my house, so thats why all I do is wifi, its also why i'm trying to get better with pit by facing as many pros as I can, I did pretty well against Sagemoon, and me and admril bowser, always have some intense matches, but I don't wanna just be good with Pit online in brawl, MK is my second, so I wanna learn anything I can with him, like I said, all I do is play wifi, I don't go to real tournys because I know i'd just end up getting frustrated, and humilated.

Don't take losing at tournaments personally. No one is going to treat you like **** just cause you lose a few matches.

Always remember that you're there to have fun, above all else.

That's how you get better. You get humiliated.
Humiliation is not necessary to get better.

major disagreement. playing against an MK lets u learn him either way.
Major disagreement indeed... two different levels...
exp: Ike does much better online
and yeah that one second lag (good connection speaking) makes a big difference to a speed type character

Yeah ummm... don't take losing too seriously unlike most communities the smash community is rather friendly and I would be surprised if someone made you feel that way the only way to get negative treatment is to force your opinion on others with propaganda and such or flamming others

You want to play the best MK here?

ok

Play M2K, He has the best MK on the east coast. Probably on the planet. Next is definitely Forte, and third is a tough call but i'm going to say Omni, because I have never seen anyone react as fast as Omni, I think he's a Terminator. And if all you do is Wifi, prepare to get rolled, because after watching just one match of M2K's MK, I can honestly say that you would have to MASTER every single one of MK's frames and KO percentages and mindgamez just to take a stock. Wifi is not close to competitive offline play, not even in the slightest. Just the thought that there might be lag in Brawl can throw off grooves and timing and spacing in this fast paced fighting game.

No johns on tourney play. Humiliation and pressure are the name of competitive play, and if you let someone lol'ing behind you mindgamez you that bad, then you shouldn't play competitively. Check the tourney listing here on Smashboards. Im sure there is SOMETHING close to your home. Luckily, I live 1 hour away from Sykesville, MD (Location of last Critical Hit). And I was able to go to Crit Hit 2 and 3. Just playing friendlies is a great way to increase and gauge your skill. Take advantage of the supporting offline brawl community. Wifi is just a way for two scrubs to john about lag, then Ike ditto.

Oh really? Whats your rank on Game Battles?
I play in a different online league, and I'm number 1 right now. Though, I only use MetaKnight in for that. I don't use him in friendlies, because I don't view him as a friendly character.

If you're gonna let stuff like that get to you, then you shouldn't play a competitive game. a competitive game means playing others and getting better. Don't take the same so seriously. Learn your midstakes and get better at it.

I don't like losing or humiliation, but i take my lost/**** matches as lessons, and hopefully it'll strive to get better. In the melee times, my Peach was decent. Sure, I won some matches here and there, but the ways I die are laughable. I get frustrated, but I do my best. I mean, things like this will always happen in a game or match. Now in brawl, I'm winning my matches a bit easier as I'm playing both meta Knight and Peach. several of my friends thinks I got a good Meta Knight.

Again, you have to know and remember to not take this game so seriously. Also, there was no wifi in Melee, so no johns about that.

If you suck, then you suck. Train or don't try at all. Every single one of us is striving to be the best player they can be. You should do the same too

EDIT: Program, can you show me some vids of Omni and Forte's MK matches? I gotta see how epic there's is.

Yeah but then again remember it is wrong to judge someone via online because who are we kidding Brawl's online is terrible so I strongly recommend going to real tournaments

You can guarantee that no matter who you verse on these forums you can't experience there 100% abilities via online so once again go to non - online tournaments

and to further create online domination go to game battles since they have the most competitive field of online competition to further express how big this is, is that it is run by MLG thats how big it is

I honestly don't have any interest in Real, non online tournys...I really don't...:ohwell: true, I obvioulsy wanna get better at brawl, but at the same time, I don't wanna play brawl SOLELY for competition, and to prove how good I am, I wanna play brawl for fun, not purely to prove how good I am, If I went to a realy tourny......got destroyed easily, I would be going home, frustrated, and annoyed...I don't want that, I wanna have fun in brawl, all the tournys, its alwasy the same rules, no items, FD only, and 3 stock and 3 minutes, or something like that, While I do enjoy playing like that alot, I don't ONLY wanna play like that, and thats all I'd see if I went to a real tourny......surely you guys can't tell me that playing matches like that hundreds, and hundreds of times, doesn't get old, thats why I like WiFI, if one of my buddy decides he only wants to play like that ever match, then I can just easily play someone else who wants to have a casual match.

BUT like I said, I don't ONLY play casuals, I love serious matches as well...its just playing them, over, and over, and over, gets really boring after awhile...and I know for a fact, if I went to a real tourny, that is ALL i'd see....

Riot don't be cocky, i've seen the people there. Also you won't be number 1 for long.

Btw not gonna lie, playing m2k won't really make you better. Hes to the point now where he destroys you without any lesson. Its to the point where you can litterly John and there's nothing wrong with it. But what can you do its freaking m2k. hes at every tourney i go to. and its to the point where i wanna just tell him to ask him not to come. But idk anymore. Btw friendlies IMO dont last long enough for you to get better. Its just long enough for you to see how they play and adapt to it.

If you're gonna let stuff like that get to you, then you shouldn't play a competitive game. a competitive game means playing others and getting better. Don't take the same so seriously. Learn your midstakes and get better at it.

Noone lies to be humiliated but relax guys. he doesnt like the complete competitive seriousness of 3 stocks 7 minutes no items 5 stages on random, counterpick. best 2/3 everywhere he goes. Than have to pay. i understand that.

2 things. Just cuz there's wifi doesnt mean they that aren't them. They will do the same moves offline but at a faster paste. You can't john on wifi unless there's really a bad connection and your pressing buttons and its not working. But if there's really a good connection i find no problems doing a Sh Nair, or actually (here's a good one) looping an arrow and hitting people. I can loop offline and online the same. So it may not be 100% being of people seeing it a weee bit slower. but you can say i'd win irl when you played like 90% yourself.

I completely understand and agree. Also dude you said you played sagemoon and admiral. Than on a tourney scene you wouldnt do as bad as you think. I go to every tourney i can. Last one wasnt that good but other one i placed 17 outta 63 and admiral can beat me and sage's match are priceless.

I never play online. Ever.

I can't stand it.
Thanks for sharing.

Well actually that faster pace is the crucial element especially to speed reliant characters...

And yeah I'm sure most people can agree (especially the melee speed attuned veterans) that the wee bit actually is pretty big..

Oh and I'm not too reliant on those online rankings of online Brawl since some of the losses of wins goes out un recorded... The smash cast even went off on that subject.
