Hi everyone, back again from the previous long post I replied. I wanted to say thank y'all for liking my old post. To be honest, I am 95% confident Chief will be CP11. But today I wanted to tackle the
arguments and give a little more
support for my old Chief's post. I really do want him in the game and will find any evidence for it, won't lie. But I will do my utmost best to be fair and give possible outcomes/information regarding his case.
To
extend my previous post and starting with this post now, some people claim that Chief may be negotiated along with Banjo and Steve to be in Smash. Since we all know negotiations started before or during FP1 or FP2 started and decided upon, there's no proof Chief is one of those decided characters. However, there is somewhat evidence Chief may be negotiated on. Starting off with King Zell.
This happened during AT LEAST around CP5 was before revealed (Byleth). Some people claimed this could indicate Master Chief Collection on Switch, which is yet to happen. While this could be a possibility, this could also be a hint towards Chief in Smash because it's not a direct comment saying of just Halo on Switch. This would tie in great for negotiations for Chief, which would be before FP2 and during either or before FP1. It just counters the theory that "If negotiations started now, it would be too late since FP1 and 2 are decided upon." But that wouldn't necessarily work on Chief in that regard since King Zell could be blatantly hinting at negotiations of Halo in some form, which would be before FP1 or during.
Now back to the other theory of Phil Spencer's Shelf Theory.
In this picture, there is a Switch on top of Phil Spencer's shelf. To explain the history of the shelf theory. Phil done this exact tactic to reveal the Xbos Series S. This photo I showed is taken in February of 2021. Everything on that shelf means something, including the Switch. Claimed by Jeff Grubb.

To extend more proof on this theory, Shpeshal Nick, co-founder of XboxEra, claims that "The cat seems to be out of the bag on Nintendo and Xbox. You'll hear more in the fall"
Some people claimed this would indicate Game Pass on Switch. However, that possibility shot down by David Gibson, co-founder of Astris Advisory Japan.
If this isn't Game Pass, what would it be then? It is possible to be a deflection by the way. But I kinda doubt that because if they were to bring Game Pass on Switch, some of the games probably wouldn't work there like Halo Infinite since the graphics are up to date. It could be Rare Replay or Master Chief Collection, but there is a strong chance that this could be Chief in Smash, with the leakers in mind from my previous post. And this claimed of this Microsoft and Nintendo collaboration is happening in the fall, which ties very well with the end of Fighter Pass 2.
Now I want to tackle the
arguments against Chief because people would flat out unconfirmed Chief as a fighter entirely due to these arguments. I will be doing it in a clear format so people can see these arguments well. I will mention 4 arguments. If there are any more arguments, I will try to get back to that in a separate post but it must be valid.
"The leakers/Nintendo put Master Chief for the bait to catch people off guard"
That one is a pretty dumb argument in my opinion no offense. For both sides no less. If Nintendo were to bait Master Chief, why would they? That could easily cause conflict with Microsoft no less. Just imagine a company trying to use Chief as the bait just to tease something else. That would RUINED the relationship and would cause problems. And not to mention, this would contradict Phil Spencer's Shelf Theory since both companies are working on a project together. Why jeopardize that relationship? If it were leakers, that would cause the same problem to them as well. Why jeopardize their reliability? They have leaked so far most of the things happening with Nintendo and then to jeopardize with 1 thing by Chief, only to not have them reliable anymore. That would cause many problems for both cases. This is why this argument is invalid due to its unsensible action.
"Halo was never on Nintendo systems"
While that is the case, Nintendo/Sakurai wouldn't care in that regard anyway. Everyone should know the 3 rules of joining Smash posted by Source Gaming.
https://sourcegaming.info/2015/10/05/sakuraithirdparty/
To briefly mention, 1) Has to be a video-game character. 2) Both parties must agree. 3) Must have gaming history. It's only a courtesy to be on one, but not a requirement. Even if this argument has any valid into it, Chief would be in a weird case since both Microsoft and Nintendo are closely relationships to one another. Both companies are claimed to be the pinnacle of E3 2021, indicating their closeness. And Chief has appeared in games like Fortnite and Minecraft, both on Switch, which would be the case of Cloud back in Smash 4 where he only appeared in Kingdom Hearts and Thearhythm. In short, this argument wouldn't hold at all.
"Does Nintendo care about Halo? / Not popular in Japan"
This argument might be the tougher one of the 4. Nintendo may not show any indication of Chief, but I would bet Microsoft would touch upon Halo to Nintendo in some way. I mean there was no proof of Nintendo caring Kayuza, Sephiroth, or Terry in that regard yet they're in Smash. I bet Microsoft would argue the case for Chief. Besides, it is Xbox's version of Mario. I think it would be great to have 2 different console mascots being in Smash since it shows greats relationships to one another. To counter the argument of popularity, it's not just Halo that's unpopular, it's the genre. FPS isn't that popular in Japan due to its violence/lack of fanfics. That is sadly the same with Microsoft being unpopular there. But that doesn't mean it should end the case for Smash inclusions. We have yet received an FPS and Chief is our best shot. What Sakurai would look for is the uniqueness of a fighter and having an FPS would bring more variety than a platformer/fighting/JRPG. Plus if Microsoft wants to push into the Japanese market, Chief in Smash would be a godly start. Don't forget the "Finish The Fight" slogan would make great business marketing with the said fighter. It's also evident that Sakurai has acknowledged Halo as well. For starters, he has an Xbox One, evident on Min Min's Presentation seeing Sakurai's house and TV. And he has made an article on American games, where Halo 2 is mentioned. Proof via Source Gaming:

There is at least acknowledgment of Halo from Sakurai. Let's hope for the best.
"Smash has terrible endings"
This one wouldn't be valid in my opinion if you take timing/businesses into consideration. Starting with Smash 64, there were no third parties. Smash 64 was the start of it all. I think being the 1st would excuse the outcome of "amazing endings." Then Melee, there were close to being a 3rd party being with Snake. But it was too late into development and Melee has a rough development time being made I believe less than a year. Still, there were open to the idea of third parties. Brawl had only 2. But it was still the start of third parties. I also think Microsoft wouldn't care much during that time. Brawl ended with Wolf, Jiggly, and Toon Link sure. But they were late into development. Smash 4 happened and we got third parties from Capcom, Sega, Square, and Bandai with the loss of Konami. In Konami's case, there were problems with Kojima and Konami during the time, which probably would cause a lot of problems with Snake in Smash. Hence why he's gone. Smash 4 ended with Corrin and Bayo, Both being the true end of Smash 4.
Finally in Ulitmate. Some people claimed that the last fighter would be a Nintendo fighter to promote their said newer series. We are going to use Corrin and Bayo as the case. Corrin is 1st party yes that brought attention towards Fates during its time of release. However, there isn't really a known new IP to bring into Ulitmate. Unless you want to count games that already have the main protagonists in Smash that have side characters. Then games like Metroid V and Warioware would be in play. But in that case, it's usually the main protagonists that have inclusions towards Smash and not much of the side characters. Also, I think that would be too late into development seeing how FP1 and FP2 were decided upon before their games. I actually believe Kayuza is that Corrin spot of being "1st party." Yes, I know Kayuza is third party by Bandai. However, Smash Ultimate is work on by Sakurai and Bandai Namco, which could technically be that house character. In that case, there isn't really a true Bayo ending to finish off Ulitmate. I believe Chief would be that Bayo ending while giving that splash of Corrin into it. Since Halo Infinite is being released during the holidays. Yes, there isn't a Halo on Switch, but I think it brings possibilities towards Halo MCC for Switch. It is possible that it could be both Chief in Smash and MCC.
In
conclusion, Chief at least would make a hard case to argue against him without making an unsensible argument. In reality yes, we have no idea who's the final fighter and there is no concrete proof Chief would be the final fighter. But I do believe all of these alignments will help his case. It's just that he has a lot of alignments to support him and none of these cases would be contradictory. To bring these cases:
-Leakers backing him up for Smash
-Phil Spencer's Shelf Theory aligning with the end of FP2.
-Great business marketing move for Halo Infinite for Japan.
-Possible negotiation outcome (King Zell argument)
Weaker support arguments but still can be valid:
-Uniqueness and variety of series
-Support from both companies
-Smash's true end
I really hope you all don't give up hope on this character. Because putting my Chief bias aside, he at least has the most alignments going forward to him. And that is enough to have hope on the fighter. This is our final hope and I know some of yall don't want to be put in the same situation again where you have hope for the fighter and ended up not happening. That I understand and would hate to see that happen. Truly sorry for that really. But this is the last true time we will do such. There will be no fighter after CP11. This is our final stand, our make-or-break moment. One-shot, and that is enough to make our hope a reality. And if it doesn't happen, that will be the last time you do such and no more after. But I am confident CP11 would be a good outcome for us Chief supporters. Just don't give up hope yet till it's over y'all.
Keep fighting.
Sorry for my long wall of text posts lmao. But I kinda really wanted to make this into a video and probably gonna use these scripts for it lol.
