Gea, I understand this must be a traumatic time, but just remember, Doc still loves you. It's natural for humans to err, and to make the mistake of turning away from Doc to worship false idols, but there is still hope. For Doc is a compassionate and forgiving character.

i ... dont really see what's wrong with playin mario.

Like i always say, it's basically the same thing.

Hell, i play mario alot (cause i used to main mario), and i've ALWAYS had more fun with mario than doc.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRUKJQYrUH4

0:42 is exactly why mario is soooo much more fun than doc.

F.air -> f.air -> f.air -> f.air -> f.air -> f.air combo = raw.

Yes, 6 fairs, and yes, i did that on somebody who was BREATHING, and yes i've done it to more than one person (most i've done was 11) >.>

--edit--

Felt like adding 10 more cents.

Doc, imo, is one of the most boring characters to play in the game.

Why? Because he has no kool, flashy gimmicks.

He has no kool glitches or advanced tech

And comboing with doc is ******** (mainly because, unlike Mario's U.Tilt, doc's is a piece of garbage).

I literally have more fun playin Zelda than I do playin Doc. Atleast Zelda has a kool *** cheer. I DONT EVEN REMEMBER WHAT DOC'S IS OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD. >.>

Yeah, I know <3

When it comes down to do or die I find myself trusting in my Doc much more but ****, Mario just feels aerobatic to me. I can't explain it.

^because he is? he's better at comboing, flows, and has less lag off aerial attacks. His F-smash is a real attack (<_< I can never use doc's and hit) and he's fun.

I still have trouble comboing so I don't like him as much, but I can see why better players than me would prefer him.

As long as you still use doc, meh ^_^

I use everyone as much as possible, so I can't condemn you really

haha you're not the only one. I find Mario to be more fun but I enjoy playing Doc more (if that makes sense). Mario just doesn't have that Raw power that I'm looking for. But his combos are more fun. I play Mario almost exactly like I play Doc, instead of how a true Mario main would play him. Sometimes I forget that dthrow -> fair doesn't work anymore so I just techchase dsmash really quick lol

Even though I main Doc, I'm much better with Mario in doubles for some reason. A lot of times, especially on Dreamland, I survive past 150% in teams with Mario.

Agree with 56k. I can combo much better with Mario, but I want someone who can finish the opponent better. Doc's the way to go.

Also I love doc's up-tilt for throwing off the opponent's flow. I sometimes use it to intercept side-b recovery from spacies.

f.air -> f.air -> f.air -> f.air -> f.air -> f.air -> etc. is the greatest combo ever that should never work.

That combo alone puts mario > doc imo. >.>

ya know. i want somebody to prove to me that mario is indeed faster than doc.

Cause, if i remember the frame data right; mario's u.air can be l-cancelled about 2 frames faster, but one of doc's tilts ends faster than marios.

Other than that, unless im on crack; their frame data is exactly the same. >.>

I think mario is better for using in doubles. He can rack up the damage really well, my partner uses ganon so he cancels out my lacking a kill move.
The opposite is true. Mario is better at stock tanking but using Mario's recovery to the fullest takes a long time, unfortunately.

Doc can do damage just as well and has more kill moves and a better bair for it. Though if you are teaming with a Ganon, Mario is fine.

I know ;) Sure seems like Mario is faster tho, doesn't it? Tight song in that vid, by the way.

If you ask me, they're both about the same in the tank department. Since they both have the same weight, both of their DIs are the same, meaning they can live just as long as each other.
The Mew2King Statistic List said:
Weight - measures how far characters get knocked HORIZONTALLY, or left and right. This list I tested from the Mushroom Kingdom 2 weight scale. Also someone helped me with this by RATING the weights (Mario = 100, a.k.a. average), which is shown on the far left side. I rechecked his work and fixed the mistakes in it, and here is the list.

--- 117 --- (1) Bowser
--- 114 --- (2) DK
--- 110 --- (3) Samus
--- 109 --- (4) Ganondorf
--- 108 --- (5) Yoshi
--- 104 --- (6-7) Captain Falcon / Link
--- 100 --- (8-10) Dr. Mario / Luigi / Mario
--- 94 --- (11) Ness
--- 90 --- (12-14) Peach / Sheik / Zelda
--- 88 --- (15) Ice Climbers
--- 87 --- (16) Marth
--- 85 --- (17-19) Mewtwo / Roy / Young Link
--- 80 --- (20-21) Falco / Pikachu
--- 75 --- (22) Fox
--- 70 --- (23) Kirby
--- 60 --- (24-25) Jigglypuff / Mr. Game & Watch
--- 55 --- (26) Pichu

As for KOability, i say that comes down to preference, like always. Sure Doc has his f.air, but mario's f.smash is longer; long enough to make a difference in spacing.

Projectiles? Eh, it's like always; what you like. I like pills cause i main doc, and that's what i know how to use; but you cant convince me that they're any better or worse than fireballs. It's just having to get used to trajectory.

And who you're teaming with shouldnt matter, unless you do dual docs --glares at $mac--

I know ;) Sure seems like Mario is faster tho, doesn't it? Tight song in that vid, by the way.

Honestly, it doesnt to me. I think it's one of those "psycological things" that became a standard because most of the big name mario players are "flashier" and "faster" than the doc players; mainly because mario has better setups for combos (u.tilt, f.air on grounded opponent).

After looking at Mario's Frame Data and Doc's Frame Data for a while, i've only been able to find small, SMALL differences.

Yeah, if you look at that data, specifically the aerials, you'll note that Mario is generally 1 frame or 2 faster than doc (which, technicallY DOES make him faster); i cant count frames.

1 or 2 frames doesnt really effect me that much (i think).

Am I wrong for finding it easier to combo with Doc than Mario? Especially U air juggles. I find myself not having to worry about spacing as well as Mario. For the most part, I see Doc's aerials as better. Bair has better trajectory, Dair seems less DIable. Nair has the viagra hitbox and Fair KOs better. I also find the different hitboxes for his Utilt. His Dtilt is hot stuff. Nothing's funnier than Dtilt "spiking" someone with Doc.

Of course, I use MArio more because I like his Bizarro costume.

I can definitely notice the difference in frames between Doc and Mario's moves, but yeah it doesn't really make a difference in combos or the eventual outcome when you attempt the move. Since I play Doc more than Mario, when I switch to Mario it throws me off a tiny bit when I activate Move A and it hits a little sooner than expected. I just have a certain timing...

I cant argue with the comboing, because my u.air department is garbage.

I can argue one thing in there, though; and that's the nair. Yes, Doc's n.air has the "viagra" effect (god i think that's a dumb term for it. >.>), and mario's doesnt.

... but mario's doesnt. That means, when you do the n.air, it's going to be consistant from beginning to end. Most people say that's bad compared to doc's, but think of something. How practical is it to hang a n.air out and hit with the later part of it? Not very; because it's unsafe. Not saying that you shouldnt, and not saying that it's a bad idea, but it's not like doc's n.air is a god-tier nair like samus'.

BUT! Mario's recovery is better :) I survive much longer w/Mario in teams than with Doc, and I blame that on recovery.

The only arguement i can really make about comboing with mario and comboing with doc is that Mario's u.tilt is god tier (like i always say. >.>)

If mario hits somebody with his u.tilt, they go up. Period.
Doc's? Hits them up if they're above him, but sends them out if they're in front of him. Therefore, doc has to use all of the other setups (d.throw/u.throw, u.smash, u.air)

Also, I find it possible to combo with Doc's uair almost as easily as I could with Mario's. You just have to perform the move a bit differently than you might expect, expecially if you're used to comboing with mario's uair. With Doc, try to hit them with a SHFFL'd uair as you're on your way up. It also helps if you're moving fast horizontally so you can follow up easier.

except for the point of Marios is alot easier to do than Docs also i believe u can get more hits in than doc altho i could be wrong....maybe it depends on how u play?

well the main part is the fact that doc is just stronger in the long run i play mario alot and it is VERY annoying to beat some characters where doc destroys them IMO i think mario is BETTER on fastfallers just because of his long combos you can do but for floaters doc is a much better choice since you cant combo them anyway well you can barley combo them

I go double Doc in teams as well. Too good.

And uhhh Dogy weight aside Mario lives longer, especially in teams where edgeguarding effectively is so much harder.

You could see it as the fsmash having more range (it does) but in teams it is also easier to get Doc's fsmash in. This is just my doubles experience trying to play both of them.
