Anyone that posts on internet video game forums is automatically a nerd. Stop kidding yourselves.

Oh, and 43% on the geek quiz. It jumped like 25% because I knew the name of the dragon in The Hobbit.

Good question.
On one hand, I skate, snowboard, and come across as "normal". I wear glasses, but nobody that knows me would say I look like a nerd. I'm not super scrawny, but I am very "lean": tall but with a bit of muscle. I spend alot of time outside either backpacking, fishing, or at a shooting range. In fact, most people probably see me as being really laid back all the time, even when the pressure is on.

(In before the "OMG, skool shootingz" s***storm, I'm a qualified NRA marksman and was casually offered a job as a riflery merit badge instructor at a Boy Scout camp by one of the senior staff. I turned it down because I disagree with alot of my council's policies regarding the exclusion of kids based on sexual orientation and religion)

However, I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't a nerd at all. I'm a gamer, I've played Magic the Gathering for 7 years and still do, I watch anime and I'm online alot when I get bored, so you can decide for yourselves how much of a nerd I am.

among the figments of your imagination
I am a geek, not you typical geek:
I work in the theater, specifically, I work backstage. I can sweep and mop the stage (yes there is a technique) I can construct and rig the set, operating a wide variety of hardware to do so. I can setup, run and troubleshoot a lighting system or audio system.
You have never experienced such gaming; with the system hooked into a multi-$-million sound system and projector with the movie screen flown in.
I believe one can learn more practical skills working in the theater than even the boyscouts.

I don't look much like a geek, but I still stand out. my usual outfit is a pair of Caterpillar steel-toed boots, Dickies, and a short-sleeve button-down work shirt, all black. sometimes I'll even keep a wrench on my belt on the days I'm working.

I still have some geek in me, I'm not all nuts, bolts and power-tools. obviously I do a lot of gaming, I have read some classic literature (those authors know their stuff). Working in the theater means I do get some of it in me, I'll still quote Shakespeare every now and then. and I do have an interest in science and technology (still keep my physics notes when for when I need'em). For most people, I'm not a typical geek, but where I come from, we're a common breed, known to those around us as "Techies".

and I scored 43% on that geek quiz thing a few pages back

Well, I do not look like a nerd at all. People look at me and say stuff, "****, she can be a model!" or "You must be a cheerleader, right?" and I am like "GTFO".

But internally, absolutely. I do things like listen to video game mp3 music, daydream about kicking chauvinist *** Tifa-style, and putting Sakurai out of the job.

I got a 25% on the quiz so that's good to me.

I don't look like a nerd but I'm smart so my friends classify me as somewhat of a nerd. When it comes to Smash or other video games, than I am a nerd.

I think I look dorky, but I do it on purpose :) so I enjoy an inner giggle when people stop and stare. (I dyed my hair purple).

I'm obsessed with video games and everyone knows it. I'm like anime/manga and noone knows. I play sports, athletic build and have about an 80% average.

I don't think I'm a nerd, but the games/anime don't help my case... :)

So, who here actually read the Killing Joke or the Long Halloween, or even knew about them, before The Dark Knight hit theaters?

If you did, I'm still a bigger comic nerd than you.

I won my school's Physical Fitness award... I have lots of friends... I talk a lot, not socially awkward... But I'm posting on Smashboards right now. That's pretty **** nerdy. But I don't care, nerds are the most successful anyway.

I still play warcraft 3 sometimes, i own a telescope, a poster of the periodic table of elements. I watched sailor moon after dragon ball z as a kid. I think the most nerdy thing I do is play melee to the extent of knowing marth, falco, fox, and sheiks attack frames and the hit stun frames they cause on various characters for most moves at most percentages. This is a lot of information. I also studied there hitboxes with AR. I also am still entering Melee tournies here in the east coast, gonna also be participating in the north east melee circuit coming up.

Within the confines of my mortal shell in T-Town.
In both respects I'm incognito. Gaming used to be my life, but I've recently built up some semblance of a balanced social life. As far as looks, I used to dress standard T-shirt and jeans but all my clothes were slightly oversized and 27x34 jeans are extremely hard to come by. I also had long unkempt hair and looked kinda shabby as a result, but in the past few years I've made an effort to dress nice (much to my wallet's chagrin). Those jeans are still elusive though.

Were you to see me on the streets you wouldn't be able to tell but mention anything about technology and it becomes readily apparent.

hmm.. lately I've been starting to dress "goth" style (well kind of) meaning mostly black shirts that have skulls, bands, etc... along with blue jeans. I always used to dress like the people down in L.A. do, shaveheads , white muscle T's, shades etc.. but over the years I somewhat seperated my style from that.

I'm considering getting both hoodies.

I also have like 5 WoW shirts.

A triforce belt.

Two different styles of elf ear tips.

About a dozen LOTR shirts.

And a Final Fantasy VII tattoo.

I believe I've answered your question by now.

Oh, and I made a Voodoo Mask from WoW out of cardboard and paint. It hangs on my door.

I think I'm 50/50 when it comes to nerdiness.

I love video games and play them frequently and I also use the computer a lot. My grades are good (A's and B's) and I wear glasses which I think make me look nerdy.

On the other hand I love hanging out with friends, I play football and wrestle, and I have a great sense of humor. (At least that's what I've been told)

Look: Well, not really. I play sports. I don't wear glasses. I don't fir that stereotype I look more like a jock (U_U)

Act: Preeeetty nerdy. I play Pokemon on the bus. I'm in an honors program. I hate rap (if that counts toward nerdiness). I liek to show off my vocabulary and discuss politics.
