From my understanding, the demo is pretty close to the final product. The biggest complaints are controls, graphics (huuuuuuuuuuuuur), and framerate issues.

People need to grow up. This is a handheld, stop holding it to console standards. Of course it's not gonna be better or on par with the original.

The complaints are valid if the new hardware has similar or better specs than the old.

The controls complaint is valid only because of the obvious omission of a control stick/dpad/trigger shoulder buttons. There is the option for Circle Pad Pro...

Graphics, if the 3DS is supposed to be as powerful graphics-wise(I don't know), then this complaint is also somewhat valid. Of course the 3DS isn't really HD anyways, so...
