not to get on razer's **** but I don't think some salty top teir CP will just beat razer. I mean the he just fkn 2-0ed Rich Brown. Do u really think its JUST SNAKE :p
No, it's not JUST Snake.
Razer is an incredible player and has practically proved this since he started playing offline.

If I choose a salty counterpick character, it's going to take a very long time to get it anywhere close to the competitive level of my Peach (this is why I drop characters after I say I will try to pick up a new one).

In my eyes, it's better to keep at the matchup and eventually try to get it cracked down - than to spend a countless number of hours building a character to *MAYBE* get it on the same level competitively (or higher) as my Peach.

I'm not that great of a player (yet), and it's not worth the risk or time.

Brawl is even less of an exception. Some other games have systems that allow player skill to more easily break MUs. Brawl is the straight up opposite in many ways.

EDIT:
No, it's not JUST Snake.

The flaw with this entire argument is that you are assuming that when you start winning the MU, those top players won't suddenly take notice and go, "Oh hey, Peach is a threat? Well time to learn how to get around that stuff." Then you are back fighting the limitations of your character because you are too stubborn to make the switch.

There is nothing "salty" about changing mains. If anything the salt is being too stubborn to swallow your pride and put in the work to play a new character. So yes, it is johning. And what's the risk? That you lose a bit of local money in the short run? Versus what, only ever seeing local money? It's chump change.

Double Edit: <3 you too Dojo.

Gea, I totally already knew that lol.

When it boils down to it, I just enjoy playing Peach.
I still try my hardest for the win, and when it happens - then cool.

I totally expect for them to change things up for next time to put me back to square one.

Possibly may pick up another character.
I'm leaning towards Wario (while still keeping Peach), but I'm not too sure yet.

Bro I know I main snake and I cant say much cuz of my char but brawl's top teir are nothing compared to other fighting games. Most fighting games are more straight up about top tier or nothing. I watch every vid RT puts up and watch most of texas play, and trust me I cant even count the useless Jumps, rolls, spot doges, air dodges on both hands. Trust me Ive seen what looses matches in Texas and I assure u its not Razer and Gnes stealing wins. Teir only counts a small percent when u watch all the stupid plays people make in the smash community. Btw love cromarite high

I remember when I picked up Sonic and felt out the character traits for him, that I told myself that I'd never really be a force to be reckoned with at top level because Sonic's just a bad character when stacked up against the big three (Meta Knight, Snake, Diddy) and Lucario.

Still kinda sucks to see it happen, but my only goals to begin with in Brawl, were to make some kind of mark on Smash, and to be recognized as a top Sonic, so any hardships I deal with in the game are accepted (of course it takes awhile to swallow sometimes).

Competitive gaming sucks. :applejack:

Character choice does have a lot to do with winning or losing. And it's not all about "I want to pick up x character so that I can beat Razer." I know for me personally, I see that it's stupid to stick with Wolf when I know "People can just pick either D3 or Pikachu and as long as they can do the chain grab and they aren't miles behind me, I will lose." If you want to stand a chance at winning a tournament, you have to use a good character. You can still use other mid tiers and stuff also as counterpicks (I'ma probably continue using my Wolf against Marths) but the first step to reaching the top is to give yourself the best tools you can (a character that can win).

I did the exact same thing with Peach, and I'm really starting to realize this too.

The only thing that really has excited me lately is Apex (getting to experience how I fare against other players in the country) and the Metaknight ban (knowing that I will never have to face an utterly impossible matchup ever again). Ft. Worth really showed me that I can be a threat or at least a higher level player in Texas if I put in the work and effort with my character.

As far as the "competitive gaming sucks" statement, no one is holding us back from choosing another character other than ourselves. That's sort of an immature thing to say because you knew what you were getting yourself into. Every character can't be the best, and every matchup won't be fair.

You don't have to drop your mains completely. Keep them around for MU's you know or that they win.

This is all realistically possible especially with MK banned.

Illmatic. I'm Espy. I'm the most stubborn son of a ***** I know.

It may sound silly or what have you, but I have a deep, heavy, personal, long lasting sentimental value towards Sonic the Hedgehog. I'd rather not go into some long rant about it, but I'm sure you can understand what I mean by that.

For me, playing any character BUT Sonic in tournament is unacceptable.

I can't tell you how upset I was with myself when I picked Wolf against Trela. :applejack:

@Razer: Sonic loses to everyone in the cast. They have hitboxes and can grab.

Change Sonic to Yoshi and this describes me.

Actually, I'm pretty sure it was Gea's post that started everything. Because he posts...you know...GOOD POSTS?

Instead of the 99.9% garbage posts, pics, or gifs from the same group of people...a few are good, but a vast majority are TRASH.
