I was just dumb in our MMs because it was Peach.

"Peach can't kill me! AGGRO TIME!"

Same reasoning made me play dumb against Xyro, too. I really need to stop doing that. :laugh:

When I fight characters like Snake or King Dedede I become super-defensive (admittedly, I should apply this to all match-ups). Also, RedHalberd beat me the last time we played (because I encountered something that I couldn't adapt to in time).

But yea, LGL is complete garbage. It makes absolutely no sense as a rule. Ledge camping with anyone but MK is 100% not broken, even with GW. Even MK's ledge camping isn't even that broken unless it is done flawlessly (against some characters like Snake and ROB, yes ROB can actually fight MK on the ledge unless he's doing it perfectly lol)

If the LGL is to be made then I also suggest there is a projectile limit to limit Falco. Perhaps Diddy should only be able to have one banana at a time? It makes no sense.

Also gnes, to say I planked you in a friendly is a bit :/
I was playing to win, it was the only time I have gotten to play you and it wasn't as bad as you put it there lol. Real talk, banana's on the stage, I don't wanna be on the stage till there is an opening. Diddy can combat ROB's ledge camping EXTREMELY well and you weren't doing it.

But alas, my ledge woes at MLG thus far, costing me a set at both event:

MLG Columbus:
vs Fizzle
Round 1 starts, characters end up being ROB vs DDD. Awesome, ROB's worst matchup. However it's not completely hopeless as I know a good amount of tricks in the matchup and am very knowledgeable in it, however unfortunately Fizzle was ready to abuse the rules.
More or less, DDD's shield grab beats ROB's anything. Seriously. ROB does not have a single safe approach on DDD. The only way to get anything in is through mix ups and massively outplaying your opponent. I get forced to approach by waddles, get grabbed, then damage racked up. I have to do 1000000% of work to get like 40% on DDD (a character that lives foreverrrrr) and then DDD just grabs me for a CG to get like 40-50% to not only even it up but to put it in his favor with little effort because of how early ROB dies upwards (from low gravity physics, upwards moves like utilt kill ROB very early)

So that's what Fizzle did. He didn't approach me at all. He forced me to approach, CG'd me to the ledge, and kept me on the ledge. ROB has no safe way off the ledge against DDD as well. Fizzle timed me literally forcing me onto the ledge the entire time. I didn't want to be on the ledge that much in fear of breaking the limit, but he literally forced me to go over 35. What was my other option? Recover blindingly on stage in an upB I can't air dodge out of? Either be killed or be forced to go over the LGL...

Match 2 I knew I had to get him off DDD, so I went Brinstar. Either suffer the worst stage for DDD vs ROB or switch to MK/Lucario. He picked MK. I'm not surprised about it and I liked it. I know the MK matchup so extremely well and don't mind Brinstar at all to the point I've even CP'd Brinstar on some MKs. However Fizzle timed me out again abusing the LGL in a different way. He scrooged me straight up. I mean I can't blame him for all this, play to win, it's MLG's fault with the rules, not Fizzle's. He would get a little bit of damage, then glide back and forth under the stage. And sure, I can fight under the stage a bit, but ROB doesn't have all the gas in the world, and I need the ledge to fight under the stage (since I dont have 800 special recovery moves to bring me back up on the stage like MK), but I can't use the ledge! So either not fight Fizzle or go over the LGL... I was timed out again (didn't lose by LGL, lost by % since I wasn't able to fight him down there without getting too many LGs). Fizzle won that set vs me killing me 4 times total, since both matches went to time.

MLG Raliegh:
vs Allied

Match 1 ROB vs Wario on Smashville. Allied more or less did nothing but platform camp and wait for an opening. Simple and effective, especially against ROB. ROB's aerial mobility is so much worse than Wario's that it makes catching him in the air like that more or less.... well.... extremely difficult. No matter though, I still did fine and won... or did I? The game went to time (more or less against my will, it was Allied who was doing all the camping), and at the results screen someone from the crowd shouted "check the ledge grabs!" We were told to check despite neither of us seeing it as a problem to where it turns out I had 37. I didn't try to ledge camp, I didn't try to stall the game, it just happened. In a 8 minute match with a lot of egdeguarding using a character that doesn't have infinite upB recovery (as in i can't use my upB over and over after grabbing the ledge or getting hit, I need to refuel), I have to be safe and use the ledge to assist in edgeguarding. So despite doing NOTHING bannable (prior to the check neither me nor allied thought I was anywhere close to 35, I would have wagered on low 20s). So I won by percent at time out, but lost because of LGL.

I used it against ADHD, it worked perfectly. So much so he paused the game midmatch, called over Xyro, and told him to make me stop. I didn't really want to plank him, I just wanted to prove a point that mk wasn't the only reason we need a lgl.

I used it against Razer at Quakecon, he had no idea how to stop it. It wasn't the best planking but it was enough. It got to him real bad, he didn't talk for 16 hours after that.

I used it against Hyro and RoyR, who both were really upset after the match. I could see it in their faces. I would have done the same to you, but I never got the lead ><

You're telling me you want me to keep making people upset/angry at me just to prove something that I already know is a problem? Do you understand now why I hate doing this? Why I'm so agitated about this issue.

Yeah I'll admit I was pretty ticked off lol just because like....I dunno, I felt like I couldn't do anything. I know how to play the game. I go to tournies to see how well I can do against other people...but I didn't feel like I got a chance to play you, to see how well I did against you. I just kinda took damage over and over again trying to find a way to get you off the ledge. Which I still haven't figured out lol

and I didn't see the **** in your mouth when I sat down to play so I had no idea you could be so ****ing gay LOL

Ehh...i've been done. None of the points that have been said counter the ones i put out, so regardless to what's been said from people who have arguments a gazillion times better than yours, I feel quite good.

@Chibo...lmao i never said ROB's planking was hard to stop, nor did I say I was trying to. All i said was that u planked me in a friendly...is that untrue, i think not. Playing to win fine, planking me is fine, i could care less, ur not the first and u wont be the last lol. Ur still cool in my book. Jerm's timed me out in a friendly, no beef there ^_^

I agree, and our argument was never to lift the LGL on MK. I would even be fine with putting an LGL on the entire cast and having MKs lower than everyone else's.

Our argument, or at least mine, was never about MK.


I'm craving some Jho as well my Great Sword brother. Tall tall should join us now since he's high enough rank to do so.

None of you(except chibo/espy) had valid points to begin with. No mk main has a valid point no matter what happens because he is the best character in the game(on the ledge and off) and can stop ALL characters on the ledge.

We said a universal LGL on all chars is a bad idea because they can be stopped in the first place(except mk). I even told you HOW to do it(with chars and stages). This is a FACT. ANYTHING you come up with is invalid.

All you guys want is a blanket rule without regard of its consequences(because u b 2 lazy and wont CP a ledge gay). This is clearly true or else you would have gone with what espy/chibo/me have said from the get go.

Pretty much this.
You can't just cover it up with a LGL. Gnes argues to CP while the LGL is on. You can CP with the LGL off just as easily. No problem there. No argument that doesn't boil down to personal preference.

DMG's method of doing so was at least reasonable and rational.

@P4: Our argument wasn't primarily about MK's LGL either. Xyro and I were discussing universal LGL and their issues.

@Dphat: The point isn't to take MK to their best levels. The point is to take them to levels in which they can't plank.

@that wasn't what i argued espy, but it was a point I made. The funny part is I'm neutral on the issue. I just wanted to point the horrible reasoning in posts by certain individuals and try to get people to look at both sides of the equation for what its worth.

I'm actually going to be abusing the ledge so I secretly didn't want an LGL, just wanted people to view both sides of the argument here, which didn't happen *sigh*

I main MK, I could care less if Sam Sam has an LGL or not. I just wanted people to look through a Peach or Falco mains eyes for a minute.

Peach and Falco cannot abuse the ledge, well Peach possibly could a little but that's no where near my point. Neither can stop it, so why wouldn't they want an LGL?

They dont want an LGL on them for ANY reason(whether they abuse the ledge or not) because they DONT NEED IT under ANY condition. Simply having one on them auto makes them have to worry about how many times they touch it(whether it to ledge gay or to recovery from). They shouldnt have to worry about that stuff(read chibos post for example). Thats another example of a LGL punishing them for no reason.
