too many times it just seemed like you had to get a grab, try using your grabs only when you have too, meaning if they get too close your face(shield grab). dont distace your self too far from snake, it screams trow me granades. try to stay as close as possible to him without you being in danger from his Ftilt. keep working on your spacing and play smarter.

edit/ didnt see the second vid, you did better.

snake airdodges toward the stage 99% of the time, rather than attacking and missing then taking an ftilt, i grabbed and continued the chasedown

Against Snake, you shouldn't be using Fthrow so consistently. It doesn't give you any benefit at all. You can't follow up with anything and it just resets the situation. Instead, use Uthrow for juggling Uairs or Dthrow for damage. I also see you don't use Dtilt at all for the most part. That's one of the best tools to combat Snake. Also, don't end the Dancing Blade combo with GDB4 unless you need to Shield poke with mind games. RDB4 is much more reliable as it can't be SDI'd and you will most likely knock them off stage.

Those are what I have to add for the Snake match up any how.

Edit: For Wolf, just some quick notes. For the Fthrow to FSmash, I believe you need to stutter step to nail it, hence why you missed. During the first stock, you could have had a lead if you went for the Fthrow to Dair. I believe you can CG Wolf, so it should have worked. I don't remember which jump is required and I'm too lazy to look. Also, Uthrow again would have helped you more this round than Fthrow. Oh, and if you break a shield and go for a Shield Breaker, space it better. That Wolf could have potentially lived if he was smart and used DI and an aerial, which would have obviously wasted your shield break. Spaced properly the Shield Breaker kills at something like 20% sooner than usual.

What Ulevo said. I would use more Dancing blade upwards to create juggle traps as well. The more Snake is in the air the better chance you have of winning. The forward throw isnt too bad as it creates a 50/50 chance of hitting the opponent with something. They air dodge, regrab or step forward and usmash/fsmash. If they dont, fair/nair them.

I thought at low percents, doesn't Marth has an f-throw chain on Snake?

Whatever, it is probably escapable.

Fthrow isnt really the best option vs snake. Vs snake the marth wants to get snake into the air where he can attempt to juggle him. Fthrow could be used to combo into udb4 to put snake in the air as i mentioned earlier. Down throw can be used for damage and getting snake off the stage when near a ledge to go for the kill. Personally fthrow i use when snake is in kill range for a tipper'd nair.

I took the liberty of watching the MK matches. You did get pretty owned.

You picked Norfair which is a terrible idea against MK.

You weren't spacing well with fairs, the ground control couldn't keep MK out... You were juggled off the edge to oblivion continually. It was harsh, and it was like you were new to MK completely. Good job for coming second though.

I am just thinking if fthrow->fthrow is inescapable at low percents (although I am not quite sure), once you threw him off the edge, you could get an easy gimp.

you've never fought against cajun DI i assume... it's quite overwhelming.

you see, normally you can punish someone who ledge hops too much with a nice tipper fsmash to kill at a low percent, but lee is too good at DI.

in winners bracket when i fought him he SDI'd up from the fsmash and easily lived... at 50% on the edge of pictochat.

confidence johns aside, that is by far my worst matchup.

IMO meta is too "in debate" to practice hardcore and learn to fight really well. odds are, if you spend most of your time trying to beat him, hes just gonna get banned anyway and you will be worse off for it.

I don't think thats the right idea man. And if that's your philosophy it kinda shows... You blame his character for his better skill? "He SD'd tipper fsmash" yada yada... It's not the way to go about things man, he could have done that with any character.

Learning a matchup hardcore when it comes to Metaknight is all about how well you can play with your own character when it comes to Marth... spacing... etc etc. Improving against Meta will only improve your entire game and ignoring it because he could be banned is detrimental.

I'm sure you want to improve, but you didn't even post those vids of your loss in the critique topic or anything... I doubt if MK is banned in your region Lee is going to instantly be beatable by your Marth.

Two things

One, I know it might seem out of place for me to say this and usually I try not to tell random people this kinda stuff but I have to agree with Shaya. Even if MK gets banned, learning how to play him is a very good thing to learn. Not just because it's a match-up you'll be doing until (if) he gets banned, but because you'll improve from the experience. Marth has very few disadvantaged match-ups. Disadvantaged match-ups force you struggle for victory against a good opponent. MK is the worst match up Marth has so learning how to play him will improve your gameplay entirely, not just your match-up against MK. That's my opinion anyways. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

Two, WHO is fear in your signature. I am supremely depressed that somebody else is using the gamer tag FEAR =[ (if he is in fact doing so).

actually noah, MK will not be getting banned anytime soon. check out recent results, did MK win them? no. critical hit, MK wasn't even in top 3. like other people have said, the MK ban is starting to fade away and people are starting to learn ways around him. no johns son, marth isn't too bad against MK anyway. just adapt and get better against MK, he is really good but he is not unbeatable, as it is starting to show in tournament results.

you did good in the matches though, even though i expected more from CJ? idk, the SD first stock, and he kept randomly fsmashing and getting punished for it multiple times. and his wolf, well...lol i can tell he doesn't play wolf. -_-

Shaya basically said everything that needed to be said.

From the impression I had from watching you fight Meta Knight, it is almost as if you ignore the match up entirely. You make a lot of mistakes that you simply shouldn't make. Ignoring the problem, regardless of whether or not you believe it will go away, will not solve your problem presently.

if you have a change of leaf! you could post the MK match up. One of the reasons the marth boards are here is to help out.
