Endless ocean.
Crap. Now I have a problem.
I love watching Chugga's Let's Plays. But I still have a copy of the game that I have yet to complete. I'm still at Satorl Marsh, and there's no way I will be able to keep up with his playthrough. But again, I love watching his playthroughs.
So the question is, do I watch the playthrough and spoil myself of the game's plot (but enjoy Chugga), or do I restrain myself from watching until I beat the main story? If the latter, that's going to be really freaking hard...
If you honestly really like watching someone's let's plays that much, and they are doing 100%... it probably would be just as good to watch them since they won't be jumping past spoilers and into others, etc. I can understand that.

On another note, I'm sure someone may have brought it up... but what if Shulk had a mechanic similar to Little Mac's where he had an Art Gauge build up as he fought, and could active it when it was filled? Maybe even have a couple different moves on there that you can switch through. XD

I say watch it for now and play it as you can. He won't make it to Satorl Marsh for a very long time.

So if hypothetically Shulk, Chrom and Chorus Men are our final newcomers, I wonder when Shulk will be revealed. Would he be next or last? Personally, I think he'll be in between. I think Chrom is next, then Shulk, then Chorus Men.

I still hope there's at least a couple more unknown newcomers. But yeah I think that order is the most likely.

The next newcomer will be last one that we see. August is the final Direct before the game releases in September in Japan...

I wanna say Shulk is next, but I hope that we see all three of these characters.

Sounds good on paper, but it might not be when executed. Maybe a Party Gauge instead? Then when it's filled you can do a Chain Attack? :O

Sakurai seems to love surprises, so I imagine he would keep a few more newcomers past Shulk Chrom and Chorus Kids under wraps for release. Did Brawl have four? (Toon Link, Wolf, Lucario, ROB?) At the moment if the leak is true, we will have three. Not to derail the thread, but Ridley and K Rool would be good candidates as I have no clue who else would be left. I support Isaac but don't think he'll make it. I'm guessing one more character will be shown in a direct before the game's launch. Putting my money on Shulk.

Regardless of whatever mechanic Sakurai gives Shulk, chances are it will be unique based on what we have seen thus far.

Edit: Found this while lurking in some of the other character threads:

I concur in saying that if and when we do happen to see Shulk, based on the newcomers to SSB4 as of yet, Shulk will, at the very least, feel and play as his own character. As for him being the next reveal. . . Hhmm. I'd personally believe that it would be either him or Chrom. I don't care much for Chorus Men, and I'm indifferent towards Ridley, but having K. Rool and Mewtwo join the fray (in addition to Shulk) would fulfill my personal three most wanted characters.

Now, about the Chuggaaconroy "Let's play" situation, that's great to hear. Xenoblade Chronicles is a game that I (and amongst many here) hold in high regards, and it goes without saying that this "Let's play" series will undoubtedly increase overall interest and demand within itself and its spiritual sequel (being Xenoblade Chronicles X). On the subject of XCX, I feel as if it has been somewhat overlooked in the midst of all the publicity Nintendo's E3 has garnered, so if nothing else, this is just going to be an advantageous (free) advertisement to the series as a whole.

Agreed! I absolutely want more people to experience this fantastic game.

Personally I can't stand Let's Plays, especially of games I have, since I just can't see why it's so entertaining to watch someone else play a game and just like... talk. But I suppose anything to spread awareness of Xenoblade is nothing but a good thing.

As far as Shulk goes though, the fact that he wasn't announced right now sort of tells me that he'll remain a secret character. I always doubted if he was big enough to be announced during an event like this or a Direct, and assuming we only get one more Direct between now and September, I doubt he'll be revealed during that.

I could see Shulk being a secret character along with Chrom and the Chorus Men in the same way that Jiggs, Toon Link, and Wolf were the last characters someone would unlock based on matches played. I do hope that he'll get revealed next, though, but I could see him being revealed until after the game releases.

Well, at most it's just 3 months until we see Shulk for REAL. I'd prefer to see him in a hypothetical August direct, but at this point I don't see what difference it'll really make.

As for him having an Art Gauge, I love that idea. If Palutena and Miis can each have 12 specials, Shulk can have a mechanic that changes his specials into better ones once he fills up his gauge. (Little Mac style or otherwise.)

I have been waiting for Chugga to LP Xenoblade since I first played the game in August of '12, so I am insanely pumped for this. I'm sure this will have the same effect on Xenoblade's fanbase as his Okami LP had on that fanbase. And by that I mean, expand it impressively. Always good to see Xenoblade getting more press, yeah?

Yeah, I'll probably watch his first video and then go pick up where I left off in Satorl Marsh.
By the way, that place is BEAUTIFUL at night. Absolutely beautiful.

I barely even knew what that place looked like during the day for the longest time because I would keep switching the clock so it was always night.

Satorl Marsh always stood out to me as an area during the night-time. During the day, it's a pretty boring swamp area. At night, it becomes this beautiful area with some of the best music in the game. Oh, and high leveled monsters at night that try to ruin the experience.

I can see Shulk being secret. I can really see Chrom being revealed on the last direct.

Chugga's got what? 600k subs at this point? If even half that many people watch this LP even a bit, it's a GREAT day.

I'm so excited. Gonna start watching later, his quality is always in a league of its own.

Well, the quality of the editing definitely shows after having watched episode 1. Can't wait to re-experience the story after completing the game once.

Since I know I'll not be able to find a copy of Xenoblade anytime soon, I'll be watching the lets play even though I haven't played the game. Expect my want for Shulk to spike.

Funny, I saw like 3 copies of the game at my local gamestop. Too bad I was (and still am) flat out broke.

It doesn't help that I've been saving my money for a Wii U and Smash.
I preordered both Smash U and Smash 3DS today, and I have about $10 right now.

I'd better find a way to make $90 quick.

Sure, the graphics are outdated, but literally everything else about the game is bloody fantastic. I imagine that some Americans might have a problem with the character's accents though, being British I don't really mind them that much.

Are you kidding? Americans love British accents. At least, most that I know.

It might not be the prettiest game, but it's still a beautiful world that is HUUUUUUUUGE. I've never played a RPG with as much heart as Xenoblade since Chrono Trigger.

I never understood the complaints about the graphics. I thought it looked perfect for a Wii game.

And the sheer power that game has for such an incredibly large world is astounding.

I didn't realize how ugly the game was. Kinda looks like an n64 game.
Of course the game's graphics aren't great technically. Artistically, however, it looks very pretty. The game made a lot of sacrifices in order to achieve the grand scale of the world, and that goes for most open world games.

I'd also say that the models look closer to the PS2 than the N64, though.

I always look at graphics from an artstyle perspective rather than a technical one, and I love Xenoblade's artstyle. Just thinking how an HD remake would look makes me drool. I may or may not be kidding about that last part.

That's interesting, cause that's one of the main complaints I heard about it.
Actually, if that's the biggest complaint then yeah I guess the game is extremely popular.

Having played the game the whole way through (unnecessary detail but whatevs), I definitely agree with all of this. Even if you don't play the game, at the very least Chugga's playthrough will be certainly worth your time, and you might just win the game anyway.
Speaking of graphics, I love how Xenoblade X looks so far. I mean, look at these:

Assuming it lives up to the story, gameplay, music, etc, Xenoblade Chronicles X will be so amazing :o In fact, from the treehouse demo the gameplay seems to be roughly unchanged and music is awesome, so it's certainly looking that way.
But yeah, really wish I could've found this thread earlier to voice my love for Shulk myself. He also has pretty gosh darn good chances, especially with the leak.
EDIT: Yeah, looks like Chugga's getting some comments about how people, in fact, are irked by the accents. K

I'm hoping that the significant graphics doesn't scale down the overworld.
I loved the size of Xenoblade it was so big it could take you 2 hours to swim all of the eryth sea.

N-N-N-N-N64?!
O_o
The graphics might be dated, but they are not that dated! You haven't even seen places like Gaur Plains and Eryth Sea yet! Don't judge the graphics just yet!
Though... the models are kinda meh... which is kinda understandable for how big this game is.
