You know, if they do go the route of making the MC a cardboard box and have no significance, I kinda hope they give him visions for any reason. I just want that gameplay mechanic to come back, no matter how they try to implement it into the story.

I just read what Zero posting about a big upcoming announcement. If it was a newcomer then I'd put my money on Shulk, but I'm skeptical that he would have insider information.

Hopefully the demo doesn't spoil too much. I like to go into JRPGs practically blind.

At least you know, that even if they showed 5 hours of gameplay... well... look at Xenoblades story. So many twists and turn. Pretty sure not much is spoiled.

And Chorus Men are all but confirmed due to the Smash Run enemy from Rhythm Heaven. It's just a matter of time. Congrats guys, he's [basically] confirmed.

Shulk is my second most wanted after Isaac but it hasn't really hit me that it's almost a done deal at this stage.

I just don't want to get too hyped in case it all goes pear shaped.

However, I'm hoping if there is a reveal tonight it will go to a character who has been excluded from the Gematsu leak and arguably needs this reveal more so than our three remaining Gematsu-newcomers.

We don't know. We on Smashboards jump to the conclusion that "reveal" = "Smash Bros. reveal." This is not always the case. I personally think it's gonna be something else entirely.

Since it came from Zero, it would be safe to assume it's Smash-related (may not be, but it's a safe bet). Could be a mode or feature though. But here's hoping it's a character reveal that's either Shulk or someone not in the leak.

If the only remaining newcomers are Shulk, Chrom and Chorus Men I feel it would be reasonably safe to assume Shulk would be the reveal. (If there is one)

I can't see them revealing all three Fire Emblem reps before release. Not to mention we only got Ike a short while ago. Chorus Men just screams "hidden oddball".

Final look at smash in 15 minutes on the Nintendo stream. If a reveal is happening, this is the best time for it, or maybe the end of the day recap. I'm not really expecting anything.

Extremely. Especially following Pac-Man so soon. We'll probably just have to wait until August, or at the latest September, when the game releases in Japan. Honestly, it's not very far away, so no big deal.

I guess that Xenoblade Chronicles X having a not specific protagonist because you create it, gives Shulk more possibilities as the franchise representative.

I'm guessing either the august direct, or when the character list is revealed in Sept. due to Japanese release. XD

I'm assuming. Directs are usually bi-monthly, and I'm counting E3 as this months direct, after the April direct. So next would be August, before September when the 3DS version releases in Japan. Would be the perfect time for a new trailer/reveals.

Major Nintendo Directs normally show up every two months. August in particular is probably going to be the "Fall sneak preview" Nintendo Direct that talks about whatever titles are going to be released later in the year, like the Nintendo Direct for August 2013.

I personally don't feel any better or worse about Shulk after this E3. It's weird, I just feel like Mii's, Palutena and Pac Man were easy enough to guess that their reveal doesn't make me think that the Sal leak is unquestionable.

Obviously it counts for something that no one he leaked has been de-confirmed, but it's not like we've ONLY gotten characters he leaked either so... eh. I'll just have to wait and see.

Plus I don't think Chorus Men will be in.
That being said I do believe the leak, but I do think he got confused about the characters.
I think he meant Marshall I do think someone from Rhythm Heaven will be represented just not Chorus Men so that will be the make or break point for the leak if it is Chorus Men this guy is 100% legit.
But if it's not he may have mismatched info kinda like how he didn't mention Rosalina.
This may be off topic but I just wanted to share this with you guys.

So if we assume Shulk is in, how do you guys think other Xenoblade characters might be incorporated into the game? Are we just gonna have simple trophies and maybe an Assist, or can we have more interesting character incorporation like Fiora and Reyn appearing for Shulk's Final Smash (I think a Chain Attack would be pretty boss).

-AT of Fiora or Melia (Can really be any of the cast)
-Xenoblade stage (epic music galore)
-Metal Face as a boss
-I think if visions aren't somehow incorporated into Shulk's move set, then he will have some sort of cinematic final smash with a vision. The vision mechanic is too important to the game to ignore.

Rhythm Heaven enemy in Smash Run makes me think Chorus Men are in.... I mean, you have to go out of your way to find a RH enemy to use. Also, you can talk all you want about "easy" guesses, but getting 8/11 character correct is statically improbable.

Leak aside, the fact that the new game is in fact a sequel to Xenoblade (it may or may not have story connections, but they are as much sequels as Final Fantasy's 1-15 now) bumps up his chances considerably.

I'd much rather have Reyn as an AT just so i can hear some of his familiar phrases- "IT'S REYN TIME!" when summoned, "HAMMAHHH BEAT," when attacking and, "MAHN WHATA BUNCH A' JOKERS!" when leaving.
