EDIT: Yeah, looks like Chugga's getting some comments about how people, in fact, are irked by the accents. K
Man, a lot of those YouTube comments are really embarrassing to read.

A lot of people are complaining about the voice acting, and I don't see anything wrong about it in this game. It's like the word voice acting has lost its meaning or something. Just because someone cries in the manner of crying for real doesn't mean it's bad voice acting. I have a feeling that people will think Shulk's "I'll kill youuuuuuuuu" will be "bad voice acting." >_>

I love his enthusiasm. You can really tell Chugga loves the game and wants his viewers to share his feelings. Looking forward to seeing more, however some of the comments are brutal. I especially agree with @ ChibiIceClimberz ChibiIceClimberz . The voice acting is amazing. I can see some people nitpicking the lip sync, but that is so minute. Even Chugga posted on Facebook in disbelief about the complaints.

Edit: @ NonSpecificGuy NonSpecificGuy I'm pretty sure Chugga tweeted it will be no longer than five months

I don't know about you guys, but I'm an American and I find British VA awesomely classy.

And sexy. :smirk:

All the people I talked to about the roster at Smashfest seemed to want or really want Shulk. Please make it happen!

I dunno if it's because I have an American accent, but part of the reason I loved the voice acting is because the accents intrigued me. I never played a game that had British voice acting, and it sounded really classy and easy on the ears.

I liked the British voice acting because it made the experience more calming for me and it made every single character sound more smart. I can't imagine Shulk and Dunban with American accents.
I found the voice acting to be pretty good, but the lip-syncing should have been improved.

By the way, this isn't relevant to the character (Well, it's the same series so it's kind of relevant but it's X so not Shulk), but I just learned that GODDAMN HIROYUKI SAWANO IS COMPOSING MUSIC FOR X. And I thought the soundtrack couldn't get more awesome.

True. He's not even doing a side project either.

Glad to see the recent spike in posts in this thread. As time goes on, more and more people seem to enter the conversation.

Yay for more famous composers. Haven't heard much of the music for X yet. Is it posted anywhere. All of the trailer music has been fantastic thus far. I'm also hoping for more British voice actors. Shulk's VA better not change in smash. Thankfully, Pit is now voiced by his Uprising VA in Smash, so I'm looking towards that as a good sign.

I couldn't find anything that wasn't in the trailers, but I did find an extended version of the e3 2013 trailer music.
And it is awesome.
Yep. His music is awesome, especially this:

Yup, this is also pretty awesome. I believe he also composed the soundtrack of Kill la Kill, aside from the credits music which are licensed songs. There's no doubt that X's soundtrack will be amazing, might even surpass the original. Maybe.
It'll be on par at least. I mean, Xenoblade Chronicles has stuff like this:

That XCX theme is just way too good. I won't even be able to play the game I'll be listening to the music.

Although honestly, I had the same problem with Xenoblade Wii (My god, we have to start calling it that, or something similar.) because half the time I wanted fights on Mechonis or against uniques to never end. So goooood.

So I wonder how people will react to Shulk's reveal for Smash if they obsessively follow Chugga's LP (As I know people are prone to do. That guy has a way with that stuff.) It'll be nice to have more people on the goddamn hype train! Besides, if he's going for 5 months, Smash 3DS will be out by then.

Also! on VA's. I just finished playing through Dragon Age 2, and Adam Howden (Shulk) voices a character (Anders) in that, and also Dragon Age: Awakening. It was pretty awesome to hear him in an important role in a different game, to the point where I was going "Speak words to me, Adam!"

I'm going to be heartbroken if he's not Shulk's VA in Smash. He said he was working on something he couldn't talk about, right? Please don't let me down, Sakurai!

I'm super excited to follow Chuggaaconroy's walkthrough of Xenoblade Chronicles, as I've yet to play the game and I'm interested in seeing what it's like. So, I just watched the first part and I feel like I'm already in desperate need of getting the game haha, it looks so good! Points for making the video look so professional too. I also ended up listening to some of the music in the game, and that sounds amazing as well.

I'm very confident of Shulk getting in Smash 4, not only because of the Gematsu leak, but just... overall, he seems like a unique, interesting character which would bring something new to the table, from a critically acclaimed game and he also represents some of the newer era of games.

I seriously don't get how some people hate the english voices, I personally love them! Especially later in the game.

I never understand why people don't like British voice acting. I don't really understand since I am British, but we never complain about American voice acting. :ohwell:

Dude, all of the VAs in the game are SO good and so excellent, I just sort of frown and ignore the kind of person who would find them "awful".

Maybe that's just me.

...Even more reason to main him as hard as possible. Wipe the floor with people in sexy British style.

Oh Adam Howden, your voice is the best.

Oh agreed! I don't understand the voice acting complaints. I ADORE the British voice acting! It really helps give the game a different feel from most American dubbed games.
I did notice that the game was pretty much just a straight import of the British version, not changing to American spelling (using organise instead of organize). It doesn't bother me though, and it's not like it was really worth anything to change the British spellings since British and American English are like 98% similar. I think The Last Story benefited from British voice acting too, giving the game a medieval European vibe.
Anyway, I noticed that Chugga's using the Classic Controller. I myself am using a Wii Remote and Nunchuk combo (mostly because I don't have a Classic Controller). Is there any advantage that the CC offers over the Remote + Nunchuk? Because I've mastered the Remote + Nunchuk control scheme, and it works fine for me.

The CC lets you move the camera with the right analog stick, which to me just feels a lot nicer, even though I got used to D-pad camera moving after Mario Galaxy and Okami. But the Nunchuck does make it easier to switch between arts and move around at the same time in battle. I never had a problem with that on the CC, but it just depends on your overall preference.

I love Shulk's British accent.

I've decided. If there is no new FE rep in the game but Shulk is in it, he will be my rep this time around.

Unless of course he sucks or something.

As an American, I totally concur with the others here. Shulk's British accent is awesome. You Brits should just dub every game from now on. 'Cause your accents are amazing.

Because of the Sal leak I wanted to see what Xenoblade was like, but no youtuber I like LPed the game. But then a couple days later Chugga started LPing it, and the game looks amazing just from the first half hour alone.
Also british voice Shulk is awesome.

Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnng Dunban's voice

I didn't get all the fuss about British accents until I played Portal 2 in early 2012, and then I started loving them, so I was so happy when Xenoblade had British voice actors. The only downside is when I do my 13 hour quest fests I eventually start thinking in a British accent (and I'm not even sure that's really a downside at all).

I hate it when people drop Xenoblade after just playing it for like an hour or two. Seriously, it gets SO good after Shulk gets the Monado. (I personally loved the game before then, but that moment was when it became truly amazing imo.)

You have no idea how messed up my mind gets when I marathon-watch Doctor Who.

Also, on the first video I saw comments saying that people didn't know that aggro was a value after over 100 hours of playing. I... How is that possible? How can you survive without knowing that?

At least that's what I thought until I saw a comment saying "I just grind until I win!" I forgot about the whole "RPG" thing. :p

I'm going to be honest that as a U.S. citizen that can speak Japanese, I was torn between the British and Japanese voice acting. I liked them both, some characters more than others for each type.

I did notice there were a few differences in translation when I played through the game twice, but nothing extremely major. I'm just glad that they made it so you could switch between voice acting... since I loved both of them.

I loved the British voice acting. It was one of my favorite parts of the game.

A lot of people also hated them yelling out their moves during battles, but I loved it. Made the battles more intense, I felt.

Hey guys! Shulk is getting rated right now in Rate Their Chances! Don't give him a 100% in chance unless you really believe in the leak, but how about we increase his want score! :)

I agree. I enjoyed the British voices and they did make the battles more intense. The voice acting in the battles helped the pace of them, in my eyes (along with the music).

Can't possibly hate on the British accent (well of course it's possible, but I'm going to call you silly for it). Really hoping to hear it in Smash, fighting on a Xenoblade stage, with Xenoblade music. Xenoblaaaaaaade :bluejump:
Shulk's MU spread will be +4 in his favor all across the board if he has the accent..especially on a Xenoblade stage :troll:

I absolutely loved the way the characters shouted to each other during battles. It made it seem like they really were leveling up in affinity and such. And of course, them shouting out their moves was always fun. "Star searing flames of revolution!" "By my flesh and blood be healed!" "Here we gooooooooooo, Lariat!" "Born in a world of strife!" (I'm sure you guys know the rest of that last one.)

"You can't make a rainbow without Reyn!"

"Dunban, I think you better talk to Reyn."

"Let's just pretend it didn't happen".

I love that dialouge so much. lol

Ok, while that guy is awesome and I do support Shulk, it's IMDb you just linked us to. Have you seen the smash bros 4 page on that site?

It's a mess, seriously.
EDIT: Oh boy, the full cast is even worse if just for this:

Actual listing on that website. Unless Nintendo WANTS people to not buy the game, I'd say just laugh at IMDb cause it's hilarious. It's made up of things that just about any random troll stranger has put on it, so... yeah.

Shulk would be an amazing addition to Smash. If he's in we can
have a God fight with him and Palutena
