Smash Journeyman
I've been thinking about the same thing. As awesome as the Monado powers + team battles idea is (and it is) I feel like it'd be too hard to balance. I'm thinking along these lines. Every new character introduces some sort of new gameplay mechanic and/or is based around a previously defined mechanic (Little Mac = super armor, Roslina+Luma = Seperation, Megaman = projectiles, etc.). What would Shulk bring to the table? The Monado obviously has creative potential as a weapon. I'm thinking one of two directions:So to pass the time for whatever's going to come of tomorrow's direct, I've been thinking up moveset possibilities for Shulk aside from the ones in the OP.
I'm really interested in a moveset that uses Monado powers as buffs, most specificially one that has even more utilization in team battles, which is something we haven't ever seen.
Like for example, Monado gauge present or not, being able to cast Speed, Shield, Armor etc. (What was the one with the bleed effect? I totally missed out on grabbing it.) on allies or yourself to assist in combat sounds interesting and unique. His aerial attacks and a-moves can be Stream Edge, Shaker Edge, Air Slash, etc. but I really feel like Monado powers + team battles = awesome possibilities.
1.) The ability to give himself power ups in the midst of battle such as increase his speed, defense, or attack BUT it takes some time to do it and can be stopped if attacked in the middle of the process sort of like Samus' B charge.
2.) The ability to turn on and off the Monado at will making his attacks shorter but more powerful when closed or longer but weaker when open.
Also I can totally picture Shulk being super aggressive towards Megaman in his reveal trailer lol
Gosh these ideas sounded a lot better in my head. Well anyway, what do you think Shulk's thing will be? Also I think I'm in too deep as far as hype goes because I'm already 100% convinced Shulk will be revealed tomorrow lol.
