That Shulk hack is awesome. Too bad that it's just a reskin of a Cloud hack.

Is kind of lame. That, and the fact that the video had bad music/talking. That sucked too. That Shulk hack is awesome. Too bad that it's just a reskin of a Cloud hack.
Sorry to hear that Mirron. I glanced back myself after reading your post and found some minor things here and there, but a lot of the major aspects of the game weren't spoiled. Xenoblade has some nice twists, though some of the game may be a tad predictable at times. Overall the story is amazing. Hopefully you forget any tiny things you picked up in the thread before you get to play it, which you will not regret. Probably my favorite Wii game and one of the best from last gen. Finally got through all of the thread. Though, I wish you guys would spoil things more regularly. Towards the beginning were a lot of unmarked spoilers I kind of read without realizing at the time. I don't recall anything concrete (thankfully, barring something about Flora I believe), but it would help for those who support his inclusion yet haven't gotten the funds together to get the game. A hundred dollars is hard for me to have lying around sadly.
Possibly.Since Sakurai said something about not doing a full blown story mode like Subspace, do you guys think he will stick to a more elaborate adventure mode in the same vein as melee's with diverse worlds based on the various games, all culminating into a boss encounter with someone from the character's respective franchise? Ex. Mega Man fits Yellow Devil.......Shulk fights Metal Face
A scorpion tied to a balloon is the AC boss. It's the hardest boss in video game history.Possibly.
My ideal "story mode" would be some vague and simple reason for fighting and then you go through scrolling stages from each franchise and at the end of each stage you fight a boss character from that franchise. One thing I didn't like from Brawl is how many enemies there were unrelated to Nintendo franchises.
What would an Animal Crossing boss be though? XD
*An overwhelming house mortgage appeared!*
The fact that the enemies were 90% original and primarily forgettable was one of my major gripes with Subspace. Taboo is one of the few exceptions. There are a plethora of minor enemies to choose from all of the Nintendo franchises so I hope they draw from that vast pool this time around. I like your idea about the side scrolling levels being inspired by franchises as well. Maybe even do mixtures of multiple franchises in one level, sort of like a worlds collide thing. I'd make the AC boss Resetti because I always hated him appearing back in the original when I was younger. Tom Nook would work if they had some reasoning behind it, though I love the idea of an evil house lol.Possibly.

When we discussed this in previous posts, I think people wanted part of you will know our names, the secret area jingle, or even part of engage the enemy among others. You're right in saying the main theme would be difficult to incorporate, but I wouldn't put it past Sakurai's all-star team to compose an appropriate remix of it. I'm just hoping there is a good wealth of Xenoblade songs in the game. Excluding Metal Face, I am not entirely sure who else would be a boss candidate depending on how much of the game would be spoiled....There is always the Mechonis though. What do you think Shulk's victory theme would be based on?
I just watched a video with the origins of victory themes and a lot of them come from the title screen music of their respective games. Only probably is the Xenoblade Chronicles title screen music is very mellow and relaxing...it's not something you could even remix.
It's hard now that the game has been out for a year. As for getting a change to play it, I'd look into a Wii emulator for the PC. It may be better to try it there than to hunt down a copy of the game (which may be expensive). Finally got through all of the thread. Though, I wish you guys would spoil things more regularly. God that would be great. Even if Shulk isn't in the game the music and a stage really need to happen.I was just thinking I would love if Sakurai could include this song from X:

Such a small snippet already has me giddy. They wouldn't need to change anything either. It's perfect. It would make great battle music.
They probably won't include anything from X though, maybe if X comes out early in the year and smash bros later in the year. It would be cool if the song gets released in full before smash bros they could put it in to be played on a Xenoblade Chronicles stage.
Out of curiousity, how is the Last Story? Does it hold up well against the other major JRPG games such as Xenoblade? I saw it the other day in the store and considered picking it up.
That song in the X trailer is very good and always gets stuck in my head whenever I hear it. Bummer for everyone who was not able to purchase Xenoblade when it was normal price. I luckily got the last copy near me.
Monolith is second party now, so that may impact Shulk's chances. I like to stay optmistic and believe he will definitely be in, but we won't know for sure until we get the confirmation. I'd prefer if they picked characters based on franchise and not development company because then we may end up with some odd choices in the resulting characters. The only positive I can think of at the moment would be Isaac gets in for Camelot, Next level brings in Little Mac, Monolith brings in Shulk, Retro brings in Ridley. Maybe that isn't such a bad idea afterall, but characters should be chosen simply based on merit, which Shulk has

Yeah, that song is amazing. On X, the game doesn't have the same feel Xenoblade had. That game felt like you were in a magical and different place. Everything in this game looks bland right now. Maybe it's the color scheme, but it just doesn't have that same punch.I was just thinking I would love if Sakurai could include this song from X:

Monolith is still first party. Nintendo bought the remaining shares from Namco a while back.Monolith is second party now, so that may impact Shulk's chances. I prefer the Last Story's combat to Xenoblade, but it's a shorter game. But it has my favorite combat out of any JRPG, probably ever. Xenoblade has a better story. The Last Story has better visuals that push the Wii to its limits. I think it has a lot of elements in which other JRPGs should follow. And it reunited Hironobu Sakaguchi and Nobuo Uematsu together. I definitely recommend picking it up.Out of curiousity, how is the Last Story? Does it hold up well against the other major JRPG games such as Xenoblade? I forgot about all of those counter examples in the current roster. People tend to just say whatever supports their opinions and neglect that sort of information. Wonder if the new smash will have a new form of assist or item in terms of other characters or summons along the lines of pokeballs and assist trophies, though I can't really think of much they can add in that area.
Here's a brawl hack I found of Shulk and Sharla fighting in a free for all. Had trouble finding much else on Xenoblade regarding hacks
I support Shulk. He's too good to pass up.
So good, you had to say it twiceI support Shulk. He's too good to pass up.
You can always play it on a Dolphin emulator.I reeeeeeeeeeeeally wish I had bought Xenoblade when it was still 60 bucks instead of the average 125 that it goes for now. I guess I'll just have to wait until X to get into the franchise.
Considering I work for a police station, I don't think that's a good idea. You can always play it on a Dolphin emulator.
Don't cry about, any support at this point is a rather moot anyway. Why so much lack of love for Shulk on latests rosters in the Roster Prediction Display Thread ?
