iight so i read some more

so while red ryu has a point in that i was advantaged as a mod for the d2 alpha strike (no 30 seconds between each post) i dont think it wouldve mattered. i began the alpha strike at 6:54 pm (i dunno what time that is in the states). the next time someone of protown alignment posted was at 9:24 pm which is like 2 and a half hours later. im too lazy to do the math if idve pulled it off within that timeframe but i think i wouldve. at any rate i apologize about the abuse of multiposts. ive been a mod so long i honestly did forget about the time limit between posts and i rectified this d3 by waiting 30 seconds instead

uh what else

d3 we were pretty much cornered and the town power roles allowed them to make a plan of action that was kind of lame. scumteam is partially at fault cuz we only killed vanillas but jerkus and gorf were solid kills that i find hard to blame for killing

eh i think youdve def gotten away with the vig claim if you shot n1 july. i think town wouldve been satisfied had you shot like jtb/raziek/j n1 and wouldntve beefed with you. also i found it kind of amusing that your fakeclaim required you to shoot j and if had you listened to me/gorf to vig him n1 it wouldve happened in your fake scenario. and thanks for the appreciation of the d3 alpha strike cuz yeah if we had not gotten you or ranmaru to get your votes off of j that wouldve been a town victory sealed. also that alpha strike was as stressful to you as it was to us. you only switched your vote to me like just FIFTY posts shy of the deadline. if you hadnt then j wouldve been lynched leaving me and nabe totally boned. you and ran cannot be blamed for switching your votes to claimed scum and we were all actually shocked that it took yall so long. man i cannot stress how bad i wanted to lynch/kill you hahah. i hate losing to sks as scum

nice job red ryu youdve managed to get all of us killed d3 had your plan gone through. i was also considering that you mightve been indy throughout the game due to your out of place diamond claim but julys serial killer made it weird for both of you to be indy

j/nabe i had a lot of fun coordinating with you guys even if j almost made me feel bad trying to bus him lol. nabe is a genius and i think his play is being underappreciated here. he was suspected largely out of the massclaim as opposed to straight up scumhunting tho its hard to blame cuz yall only had one day of information. he also called a lot of big plays at the right time which were crucial to our win: killing gorf/giving me the greenlight to alpha strike d3/concocting the plan to get ranmaru/july to switch their votes to me once we realized we started the alpha strike way too soon. he did some other ballin **** that i cant think of off the top of my head but yeah consider his play here too yall

/brofist gorf *** outta hear trying to lynch us

thanks zen/jdietz for modding the game tho jdietz was the one to invite me as opposed to zen. i have no idea why you guys invited me lol

thank you ranmaru for pointing out that nabes avatar could be hairs in the wind. i always thought it was just an ***

mvp nabe

For real though, how did Marshy get away with that D2 ****?

How?

How.

HOW.
This game....

I will never understand how anyone could think what marshy did could be town.
Good lord I couldn't agree with this more.

No one cared to have marshy killed. I was soooo mad over it.

@Ran - wtf over the saying I was faking not feeling good. I mean really?

@Ryu - Knew you were town. We know each other too well. =P

Quite tired now, so I'll probably post some more shoutouts tomorrow if I can get to computer.

Yeah, really dude. This is a game of mafia. People fake many things to get their way. I was just trying to poke at you to see why you didn't answer my question.

I pushed you away from listening to that's my bad, and I'm sorry.

We have to be town bros, mang! Promise?

That may be true, I definitely freaked out over my role a lot more than I should have and put myself in a more precarious situation than necessary, but lesson learned.

Ugggh it killed to chose between you, J, and Nabe for who to vote during the D3 quicklynch, I saw strange things in all your behavior (Nabe suddenly switching off J, J appealing to me as if I was town, you basically proclaiming you were scum) but I just didn't place all three of you together as a scum team, like I said that was a complete mind **** and basically a shock to the system when both J and Nabe switched their votes over. I didn't vote until 50 posts before deadline because I simply couldn't comprehend all the parts in motion and how you, J, and Nabe were interacting so I just shut down for a bit.

Also do you know how menacing you seemed when I switched my vote over to you and there were three or four votes on you and you just wouldn't stop posting? You clearly weren't deterred nor concerned about the majority of votes being on you and THAT was probably the worst feeling; that after all that thought and stress in coming to the decision to switch my vote from J to you, you were still unstoppable and that my decision had somehow played into your hand....gah I'm still a bit salty, but well done nonetheless.

Regardless, this was a very entertaining game.

Props to the scum team for their shenanigans, good try to town, and shoutouts to JD and Zen for modding. :)

Only reason I would say No MvP

Is because a lot of was scum wins is being awake when other weren't, it's less about mafia and more about irl tenacity on being awake and also doing something on D2 that wasn't available to the rest of the players, except me and Raziek.
"a lot"? ill give you the d2 quicklynch. but d3? the town CONTRIBUTED to that quicklynch

nabe should get mvp

I was awake & checking the thread when Marshy went on his rampage on Day 2. Didn't know what it was all about until I saw the rules, then I died laughing.

We did, but at the same time this game went into an area I'm not comfortable with, sleep schedules. Instead of lynching just right away like we should have and doing the plan after the mass claim we played 20 questions too long. Town is at fault there, but I don't wanna award a scum win off checking when people go to sleep lol.

But scum did use the mechanic very well and made a great plan to use the games mechanic to win with quick lynches.

But it is up to the game mod and if an MvP were to be given out, it should go to you or Nabe.

I think No MvP is better.

But if Deitz wants to give one out it needs to be, MvP Nabe or MvP Marshy

We'll see what happens. Zen is making his own decision. My opinion is if we give an MVP it will be Marshy, Nabe is also a good choice.

It could go either way.

EDIT: And I can't remember who suggested it, but ever since I read it in the V/LA thread I can't stop seeing Nabe's avy as a father blade of grass scolding it's offspring... that and a butt, sometimes it's still a butt :3

I learned I have to really consider the mechanics lol

oh you addressed the mods. But not the town? D: <
Sorry you're bad :awesome:

In all seriousness town could and should have handled Marshy after his quicklynch D2 -- the reason they didn't is distraction. In your first post of D3 you posted your result on July, which effectively skewed the Day and made it easy to keep Marshy afloat. As well, your claim allowed me to fashion mine after yours without much repercussion, when otherwise I'd have been forced to claim VT and probably would've been lynched for my prior inactivity. Be a little more careful in the heat of the moment.

This'll probably end up having No MVP, however I'm def. writing in the archive thread that Marshy and Nabe get brofists.

Town is at fault there, but I don't wanna award a scum win off checking when people go to sleep lol.
This argument is dumb.

@bold: Deal with it. Personal dedication to a game is directly proportional to what you get out of it. Moreover if marshy and the scumteam didn't manipulate the **** out of everyone (personal flaws were ruthlessly exploited to cause the town to bluster on just lynching a mafiat already and also to get them to post a LOT, contributing to the QL) there wouldn't have been a mylo ML that won the game. It was masterful scum play that didn't have a damn thing to do with sleep schedules. People were online. They could have forced a game-winning NL and at one point even just gotten one of them lynched (the numbers were available for a short time, if the town were astute enough and the manipulation weren't so subtle). Stop acting like sleep schedules lost the game. And don't say you aren't. You may be more level-headed now but you said it once and you're still trying to insinuate it.

@italics: And wtf does that have to do with sleep schedules again? Or is this just another rehash of that "town should have yadda yadda it's town's fault" argument, or what? What's your point? Marshy pulled a hilariously bull**** move on D2 and, somehow, argued his way into a prolonged life. Town played 20 questions for too long because the mafia positioned itself and the Day conversations in a way that CAUSED them to play 20 questions for too long, including during the QL.

@underlined: There you go trying to undermine what scumteam pulled off again.

This game should probably have no MVP due to the modhax QL on D2. That is completely objective. But some seriously stupid **** is being said that diminishes amazing scumplay and I just can't wrap my head around why.

On D3 the entire scumteam was out working toward a QL. With sufficient distancing and constant red herrings to stop the town from zeroing in on and icing just one of them while that was an option. The votes of the town had to be manipulated and moved to win the game. This kind of **** has nothing to do with timezones, mod hax, or anything else. Just skill.

Personal flaws were exploited nonstop to get the town to help drive up the deadline and post more, and yet this had to be done subtly, so that it wouldn't be apparent at the surface. Look at how many of marshy's posts throughout D3 were spam. And yet, he slipped them in so innocuously, like he does in every game, while making a huge jump toward the deadline with the collective of them. And if it ever became obvious, town could and should have rolled over on him. And all throughout this QL insanity the scumteam was dancing its visible motives, connections, and behavior all over so that the town couldn't get its **** together and just dogpile votes on someone to force a NL. And in case it had somehow been forgotten, this manipulation and subtle pull of the deadline toward the present had to take place despite the tremendous scrutiny every single scumteam member (especially marshy, who was doing the constant ****posting of all people!) was under.

Why am I the only one talking about this? Seriously. I didn't even want to have any mafia-related conversations ever again, but here we are. Someone had to say this ****. No MVP because of the modhax QL D2 is reasonable, but the undermining of what marshy and his crew had to do here is straight up disrespectful.

Anyway good **** marshy. I didn't really wanna read the game, but then you said that it was "time to do it" and I was pretty much transfixed right to the end lol. Good game to Nabe, J, and marshy. I don't know if that final QL was a marshy masterminded thing or if y'all just kinda followed the vibe of what was happening but it was tremendous scumplay regardless

Oh yeah good stuff to July too. I've seen a lot of people just roll over when they're in the crosshairs irreparably so I have respect for people who play to the 1% right to the end

Yeah EE, they played well using the mechanic in the game like they did
btw thanks for omiting where I did congradulate them and said they did this.

However, the mechanic itself is very abusable, far more by scum, and pushes the game into an area I do not want it to go for anyone, Personal tenacity to be awake, yeah July and Ran were awake, what if they weren't? Scum could just go ajajajajaja in 2 hours with 3 peoples help.

It did take skill, but people did think it is a broken mechanic.

If you think it still warrents MvP, be my guest, I even said this open ended to Deitz if he wanted to award it because the choice is his.

However, even though D2 happened, did the math Marshy could have done it anyways even at 30 secs. People don't want mafia going that way at all with who stays awake or is sleep.

If you still think so because they skillfully coordinated which i admitted ok fair enough.

I would prefer you not misquote me nor think I am ever disrespectful to people who win by voting No MVP.

And before someone says it, i get what he is saying, they did outplay town. They baited hard and coordinated themselves to set it up.

I said No MvP because the mechanic is stupid and forces mindsets to go where I don't think your going to make mafia ok for people to enjoy it.

On that principle, Deitz if you wanna give MvP you have every right to ignore certain people like me and give it.

Dam EE what a good post. So I didn't realize mods bypassed the 30 sec thing. We would have added that rule before had we known. For those of you who have been against privates games, I hope this game shows you that some of us have genuine reason for running them as so. I liked how posts were generally narrowed into bigger posts rather than scattered about as smaller posts, especially in the beginning. The flavor was really cool, mad props to Dietz in making and running his first game. The post limit was definitely scum sided. I was a bit worried scum might get away with playing inactive and using the post limit as an excuse, but that didn't seem to be the case. I think that having the day end in no lynch if the limit is reached without a majority would probably reduce the advantage for scum. With regard to MVP, the fact that the mechanic was taken advantage of d2 doesn't really change the matter of how well scum played or how well each individual played. There were still multiple chances for town to turn the game around. You all had the opportunity to take the game back d3 had you been more succinct. Day 1 you had all been taking caution of the post cap, but it seems as if you had dropped concern for it by d3. Ruy you had scum man. When you have em you lynch em. This is something that we have disagreed on through the games we played, but I hope this will show you my side of it. Even though this game was special, there are still other ways that scum wiggle their way out of being lynched or cause more disruption among the town. This isn't always the case, there are times you need to play it slow and steady, but this wasn't one of them. Anyways like I was saying, scum played a good game. And MVP doesn't need to be limited to just one. My vote is for Marshy/Nabe MVP. Does that sound good to you Dietz?

Since my co-mod agrees then it's settled. (and I can agree with Nabe earning himself one as well)

MVP: Marshy and Nabe

In my opinion Marshy would have successfully carried out an alpha even without mod-powers D2. While it puts a blemish on the overall win, it was still within the rules. You can dislike the fact it happened, but the fact also remains town did not lynch Marshy afterwards despite having ample reason to. Between Nabe's clutch D3 planning and Marshy's affirmative action they sealed the deal on the game in a phenomenal way, and if you don't like how they did it: why did you sign up for my private when you knew this was the twist. (also u mad jelly you weren't on the scum team with them)

I know a lot of you asked for No MVP, but that isn't going to happen. If we don't give an MVP every time there's a debate about someone winning, there would be no MVPs (which is a trend you can see in the Dgames log recently). Give 'em the dice.

Glad this got settled.

I am salty because my reads were on in the end and the mechanic boned me, but it was ultimately my fault because I didn't force the lynches that needed to happen to happen.

Congrates on MvP to Marshy and Nabe.

Then hate the mechanic for existing and not the fact that the scum team abused an advantage that they recognized at some point during the game. It was the play marshy and co. had to make, rather than abide by some honor code of playing to townie standards. If you wanted that, you should've held him to that by lynching him the next day.

This game is still a testament to why post limits shouldn't exist in mafia, though.

Everyone who doesn't understand how much effort it took to "Spam the thread" in endgame read the QT before you complain. Then realize Marshy, Nabe, and J live in three different countries and timezones.

*****es deserve dice.
