I'm just wondering what is everyones general impression on Reach when compared to Halo 3?

I feel like Reach is superior in almost every way but I have 2 major gripes with it:

1. I personally think the maps in general are absolutely terrible.

2. Some of the armor abilities really ruin the competitive nature that I've always loved about Halo. Sprinting and Jetpacks are fine, but Armor Lock can get really annoying fast when you're trying to grenade or melee your opponent. And Active Camo is just obnoxious and a terrible idea overall. Once you've been sniped across the map by someone who was invisible, you'll agree.

I still say that Halo 3 has a better campaign and online multiplayer component.

Reach is still a great game though, just wish the MP maps were good. (They relied too much on Forge.)

I don't see the reason behind a remake, but I suppose if it's a major graphic update alone, then that'd be nice. Certainly curious about Halo 4.

343 is on thin ice with me. While they have some of the major players from Bungie and M$, they also have some IW guys. They COULD pull it off, and well. But I'm still gonna be cautious about this whole situation.

Would love to see a remake (maybe some sort of bundle containing Halo 1/CE and Halo 2 w/online on the 360) sometime next year. It is Halo's 10 year anniversary in 2011! As you said, just upgrade the graphics (Make both games in HD for the consoles.) and maybe online capabilities.

Halo 4 is probably going to happen. After all, Microsoft/the 360 needs another Halo game. I have no faith in 343i (industries) cause they have no past experience except for Halo Waypoint. (which I find useless)

I will probably not be buying any future Halo games. Bungie is the one and true developer for Halo.

343 hasn't shown their potential in my opinion. Granted, they haven't done any games yet, but they've done a bunch of other stuff in the Halo Universe right now; Books, the comics, the video promos. All done through 343.

Like I said, big players from Bungie are in charge of 343, so it's like a subsidiary of Bungie.

I agree with TRG, armor abilities are really annoying. Armor Lock is mainly what annoys me but the invisibility is bad too. If they made a classic playlist with no armor abilities at all(including sprint, makes it too easy to just run up and double melee people).

I wish they'd make an MLG playlist. Although they still have armor abilities in the gametypes, the few they include are scattered around the map and you don't start with them.

MLG is currently making their maps/gametypes, and Bungie is expecting to have an MLG and Grifball playlist by Decemberish.

It was in an Bungie Weekly Update (BWU) a couple of weeks ago. They're working on it.

I hate the balance of Invasion Slayer with the passion of a thousand suns.

The game technically doesn't even start for Elites until 25 kills. Enjoy your 25 point lead, Spartans.
Elite weapons suck. All of them. Why do Spartans start with a normal pistol and then the DMR, but also get the Sniper Rifle, Rockets, Spartan Laser, Warthogs, and Scorpions.
Elites get... Beam Rifles (ugh), Plasma Launchers (ugh), Banshees (okay), and Wraiths (ugh). Weapon drops should be randomized to where either race gets either ones' stuff.

And where is SvE?

Agreed. Firefight vs is awesome. I **** the elites with the shotgun class. I'm really loving the new maps. I hope we get more soon.

CoD games are just more popular than Halo ones. It doesn't help that Activision insists on having yearly/annual sequels and CoD games are multi-platform.

Quality > Quantity.

But still it seems like Halo 3 had a much larger amount of longevity than Reach... Well a lot of that has to do with it being the first Halo on 360 so it had more hype than Reach.

Whatever Reach is still the superior game to Black Ops, no doubt in my mind.

Exactly. That's why I haven't played it recently, because I haven't had many others to be on my team and last time not many ppl from here were on last few times I played Reach before Black Ops released.

Edit: GG's tonight TK! Our Arena games were so good. I really like the teamwork we had all together. Halo is so easy to pick back up. I didn't go negative much in most of the games we played.
