I think the CR limit is 50k not 60.

Also I've almost got 100 Assassinations. That's pretty good I think seeing as though I only got this game on Monday.

I don't play this game for credits really. I play a lot of Rumble Pit and you get barely any for that.

I dunno what I play for really. Assassinations maybe?

Okay, I now officially dread Invasion on Boneyard for the simple reason that the Spartans can exploit parking the Scorpion over the core if it's outside to bleed out the timer. It's absurd because there's literally no way to get rid of the remains and grab the core again. Raaaage.

Got a new headset today. I'm still trying to get it figured out, but it plays the TV sound through the headset. :)

Mostly so I don't have to wake up the wife with the TV turned up. >.>

Anyway, I'll be on tonight.
Turtle beach? or whatever it is.

I'm not getting much exp anymore. Apparently, after you've gotten higher commendations such as silver and gold, you just start getting less points and you can't change that.

And Thunder, you ranked up pretty quickly yourself. Did you just do normal matchmaking or gruntpocalypse?
Recently or in general?

I've mostly done matchmaking, with the occasional Gruntpocalypse game here and there. Though I started playing ONI Sword Base and using the target designator to get a decent amount of credits like  did. Also I've tried to do every challenge given each day for the extra credits.

Speaking of which, anyone wanna help out with beating ONI Sword Base on legendary w/o dying? :D

It's Skullcandy, actually. A little cheaper, didn't have to wait for shipping, and I have some friends on Live who said they work fine. Cost me a little over $50.
<3 Skullcandies!

My wireless Xbox headset was like 52 n change..

Does your headset work? Prime and I were trying to talk to you, and we heard nothing (mute ftw)?
I didn't have it in.. Plus my GF was over. So I would have ignored ya'll anyway.

I'm on from now til god knows when. And I'll be on tomorrow.

It's pretty much the same. Rockets, Shotgun, Sword, and Sniper are all godly, DMR, Needler Rifle, and Pistol are good, the Needler, Focus Rifle, Plasma Launcher, Plasma Rifle/Repeater, and Grenade Launcher all suck. The Assault Rifle doesn't actually exist. Reach is fast paced and plays similarly, but brings a lot more to the table in Armor abilities, shields, and reticule bloom. It's really fun, there's just so much to do and I doubt you'd get bored of it.

It doesn't suck, you're just not using it right ;)

Also Plasma Pistol is actually usable in Reach.

Does anyone know where I can find official Grifball gametypes/maps? Couldn't really find them on the grifball website....

No, it sucks. I can't see that ever being considered a power weapon, considering it's bad and all.

Plasma Pistol being good? That relies on it being charged and at close range. Not a good use of your secondary slot.

Probably because every time you try to plasma rifle someone, they outplay you with their DMR or marine weapon. If you meant the Plasma Pistol, then yes. I've done the noob combo. Charged EMP blast + Melee, which isn't really good.

This. The 'hold trigger' and detonate is a VERY small killbox. Used for baiting, vehicle disabling, etc. Firing and NOT holding the trigger warrants a bigger explosion, but no EMP. I was ****** with this in FF today. Killimanjaro's and Killtastrophe's abound with 1 shell.

Plasma Pistol was useable in Halo 3 too. I ***** that.

Shotgun is godly.
Shotgun always has been.

Plasma pistol/plasma weapon is great for shields. Not much else. Plasma weapon+Headshot weapon=win

Aren't Skullcandies the ok quality with graphics thrown on them but sold at high prices?
So far, from the little use I used them, they worked fine, and the sound was awesome.

See above? It's not overpowered, but it doesn't SUCK per se. I'd say it's a wonderful niche weapon I'll be a god **** surgeon with.

Probably should've worded that as "average". I've yet to see them put to good use as they're all incredibly outclassed. If you want the noob combo, you can have a makeshift one in Melee -> DMR headshot, something you're more likely to win with. The Plasma Repeater is just so incredibly inaccurate and weak. The Launcher still has a long reload time.

Imagine Rockets as the evolved form of the Grenade Launcher. The Grenade Launcher is a prevo released in Reach and doesn't learn "not suck" until it evolves. The only moves it gets is "weaken a shield slightly" and "be ridiculously homosexual". I'd say it's the product of a backseat accident courtesy of Call of Duty's Thumper and the manliness that is the Rocket Launcher.

There's a focal point in your cross-hair so if you try to spam shots your accuracy lowers. But if the cross-hair is small then you'll have a more accurate shot. You're on a health bar like how Halo:CE was. You have to find health packs on the map to heal yourself. I believe Spartans don't heal over time. Elites I believe can heal over time. They don't really need health packs. Grenades are thrown like how it was in ODST. They're more arced then they are just thrown straight like in Halo 3. Frags blast radius isn't as good as it was in Halo 3. Plasmas are still good. Sniper reload time is longer. DMR is trash compaired to the BR.

And you get armor abilities.
___

Sprint: Common sense. Run faster until energy runs out.

Armor Lock: Creates an invul shield around you but you can;'t move or attack. Just sit there until either you drop the shield or until the energy runs out. Also creates an EMP blast that acts like a power drain. Takes away shields and is able to stun vehicles that are close enough.

Jet Pack. Another common sense one. You fly until the energy runs out.

Active Camo: Cloaks you. But it's semi cloaked when you're walking. And it's cloaked when you're crouch moving. Also creates a radar jamming effect on your radar and enemies radar.

Hologram: Creates an image of yourself. (Duh) it runs in a straight line to the destination you told it to go. Doesn't do much else. It's a distraction.
____

Let's see what else is there...

Oh and the Spartan/Elite thing won't matter if you're going to be playing for MLG because I'm pretty sure they'll keep the players default as Spartans.

Controls: If you want to play on the controls similar to Halo 3 the set it to Recon. Though to switch grenades you have to press X. Everything else is pretty much the same. Except that the LB is to use the armor ability.

Dominant Weapons: Any power weapon. Rockets. Snipes. Shotty. Sword. DMR. Needle Rifle. Those are the mains. Needlers and Plasma Pistols are secondary. Though in pro slayer you'll only see: Nades, DMR Needle Rifle, Plasma pistol, snipes (On certain maps), shotty (on certain maps), rockets (on certain maps)

I just find that the Plasma Pistol homes in on someone more than it did in halo 3

@mew2king: For the most part it's similar to halo 3 in terms of power weapons, but backpacks/armor abilities adds a different approach to the game. I've read elites are stronger, but you can only be an elite in certain gametypes (Invasion, Elite Slayer) so it's not like everyone can be an elite whenever they want.

imo it's too early to tell if there's any certain tactics people use. Of course there's things like map specific strategies/tactics people go for, like control X area etc but I've seen stuff like dodge roll towards someone and sword/shotgun them, or abuse Invis backpack and use sniper from afar (Invis scrambles all radar nearby but youre visible when you move outside of crouching around)

EDIT: ninja'd

It's not likely that the saved bullets will be put to good use because you die so much.

This "situation" relies on a lot of setup on your part. It locking on isn't a big deal because I have a number of options. I can be close to cover, have the ability to sprint away, dodge the blast or 'nade you, among other things. You then have to switch and get a headshot which could be costly if you don't get absurdly lucky.

LOL BECAUSE 1v1s ARE THE DECIDING FACTOR IN WHETHER OR NOT A PERSON IS RIGHT OR NOT <c

If I wanted to 1v1, I'd play cage match.

Poor scrub... lol

Obviously you don't know how good the Plasma Pistol is. I mean it's not like MLG Pit had a Plasma Pistol where the Sword was. Obviously you don't know so 'm going to end it here.

Continue on in your little world.

I like it in the sense that it's not like rockets where "you fire it and get a kill". You actually gotta try with it.

Lol grenade surgeon. Imma become a beast with it as well :D

People put others on an ignore list because they known they have been beaten and cannot take the fact that they are wrong.

I was stating a fact. And you tried to contradict this with a pointless opinion. Just because you suck with the Plasma Pistol doesn't mean it sucks. <3

So guys. What are ya'll opinions on the Plasma Pistol being a bad secondary weapon? Please I would love to hear other people's responses. to this. :)

Almost a captain....ranking up is going to take a looong time from here on out. I've gotten most of the commendations in the campaign through that little trick, so now it seems I'll have to revert to the old fashioned way.

What are the differences with Reach and Halo 3?

Elites are stronger? What are the dominant weapons and tactics? Update me please, I'll be playing this in a few months a little after MLG ends probably.
As far as strategies go, it kind of depends. For one thing, the armor abilities add a totally new aspect to this game. They all have their positives and negatives, but I find sprint to be more useful than the others. So far, it seems to play out pretty similar to Halo 3, except for the armor abilities.

Another thing to mention is the changes made to grenades. They deal loads of damage if you get a good toss, and they also kill pretty easily. I find myself getting killed by grenades more than guns, which is definitely odd.

But overall, it plays well and I don't have too many complaints.

You actually rank up faster after getting to Captain, Mr. Banjo.
