...Not to mention Guitar Hero's Expert is way more difficult than Rock Band's Expert will ever be...hehe.

Ya, im not really a fan of RB. I always liked GH for some reason.

The game seems to be looking good, the new features are really cool. I wonder how im going to make my rocker....

Added "Misery Business" by Paramore, "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" by the Beastie Boys, "Today" by Smashing Pumpkins, and "Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent to the confirmed tracks. They were unintentionally reavealed at the Activision press conference; "Misery Business" and "Today" were shown with "Hot for Teacher" on a set, while "No Sleep Till Brooklyn", and "Stranglehold" were heard playing on the menus.

And Jimi Hendrix is officially in.

Looks like there's going to be a Drum Tutorial; possibly similar to Rock Band's announced 'Drum Trainer".

I'm really just waiting for the full setlist to be released. Rock Band's looks okay - there's some good stuff, some bad stuff. I'm curious to know how I'll feel about GH4's. I'm already getting the game, but I think it'll solidify why I think it'll be better than the other one.

Everybody always says this, but it's not true at all. It's actually kind of frustrating, because it prevents people from seeing it as a great guitar game as well as a party game.

^^No, there are songs in Guitar Hero that are way harder than their Rock Band counterpart. *Coughtrainkeptarollincough*

I think RB setlist is much better than all the songs confermed for GH4, I feel like GH4 is kinda straying away from what it was song wise.

Hmm i am still leaning RB at this point, unless the final setlist blows me away.

That's a little quick to be saying that, hm. How many songs have been confirmed for GH4? Like, ten? Fifteen, tops. I dunno. Before I'm making any final judgments I'm waiting until both lists have been announced.

Eh, I think it depends on what songs. My experience with GH3 is that it overloads you with notes (ones that don't always seem to correspond to what is playing ex: why does The Metal feel the need to throw in alternating 3-note chords for something that sounds so basic?), while Rock Band has a tendancy to underload you with notes a good bit of the time (fewer chords than GH, a lot of sections with very few notes and lots of just playing in rhythm), then annihilate you with the solos on the harder songs (see: Ride the Lightning, the Outlaws song). I think the only time I've ever died on a Rock Band song besides Blackened is during a solo and it's mostly the same ascending/descending one that a lot of songs tend to reuse...

That said, I still play and enjoy both (and am excited for both RB2 and GH:WT), but I still think the charts were at their best in GH2/80's. I thought it was strange that Harmonix shied away from the style they were using to more of a minimalist style (compare the old and new charts for Message in a Bottle and just about any GH2 solo vs any RB solo).

You're right; Blondie is so much better than Jimi Hendrix.[/sarcasm]
In the case of these games, I'd say yes. Blondie songs have excellent parts across all instruments represented in Rock Band/World Tour. Jimi Hendrix songs offer great guitar and not much else.

Hendrix couldn't sing with a ****, but his drummer was pretty good.

Unless I see "Take Me to the River" or "Stop Making Sense" the Album by Talking Heads, the set list won't beat Rock Bands.

:O

C'mon, he's one of the few standable "classic rock" acts.

There are few Talking Heads better than "Psycho Killer," "Take me to the River" and "Life During War Time" among them.

Any news on what song by the Doors is making it in?

You're right; Blondie is so much better than Jimi Hendrix.[/sarcasm]

Rumored track list. This game will be amazing if it's real.

Some highlights for me: Comfortably Numb, Teen Spirit, Jumpin Jack Flash, Johnny B. Goode, Master of Puppets, Purple Haze, the Wind Cries for Mary, and Paradise City.
Wow thats one heck of a tracklist

But the real selling point of the Game is gonna be the Studio. I just can't wait to put some songs in there.

If that is the track list, I'm definitely sticking with Rock Band 2 :urg:

There is some good stuff like Light My Fire, Johnny B. Goode, Purple Haze, Song for the Dead, Man in the Box and the Tool songs, but not much else. I didn't even see At The Drive-In on there.

Oh, and it has I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing by Aerosmith. lulz.

It's definitely good. Definitely. Not perfect, but definitely good. They even spelled Dream Theater wrong! (Pull Me Under definitely wasn't one of my favorite choices but good either way). Fury of the Storm? Sweet. Though the double bass interpretation by the note charters will be interesting. Master of Puppets? Megadeth? Priest? Maiden? Too good. Spirit of Radio? Awesome. Crazy Train? Unexpected but welcome. Feuer Frei? Totally awesome. Three Tool songs? An interesting move.

Now assuming this rumor is true (I'm a chump for rumors) than I will very much enjoy GHWT.

As much of a hater as you all know I am, I must say that track list is on equal terms w/ Rock Band, but I am dissappointed in all the duplicate titles.

Pink Floyd? I sure hope Harmonix and MTV open up their wallets to them as well. There's nothing on the list (which isn't confirmed, it's an unconfirmed leaked setlist that just surfaced) that gets me excited other than that, so if this ends up being true I won't be purchasing the game and will instead hope for bands like Pink Floyd to be added to Rock Band.

I'll rent it to play Lacuna Coil and Joe Satriani. The rest... meh. Didn't make me want it like Psycho Killer did.

Wow, they went for the teeth in some of those...Not even saving Master of Puppets for GH: Metallica is a good sign of that. Hallowed be Thy Name, Crazy Train, Leather Rebel (THE most underrated JP song ever, IMO and probably my favorite after Electric Eye), Teen Spirit (the ONLY Nirvana song I like..."In Bloom" not counting, since I had to learn how to use the RB drums/mic on it and it grew on me) RB dupes suck (bleh...) and some in there I'm not crazy about but ****...the classics definitely make up for it. I think this may be a declaration of war on Harmonix.

lol, Angel of Death. Activision now has to fend off accusations of being pro-Nazi (I'm surprised they would take this one on...War Ensemble or Seasons of the Abyss would probably be far less of a hassle and just as effective, gameplay-wise). That song is going to mangle guitar controllers...Can't wait for the vocals!

Wait a second...Red Hot Chili Peppers don't have a song called "Take It Away", although they do have one called "Give It Away".

I will be very interested to see if this is true. The only flaw is that it might be a little TOO perfect, you know?

What did some roster lists that were dubbed as "real" during all the Brawl hype teach this community?

Ah well, that's too bad. I liked that list a bunch. I hope they make the real list as good as the fake one.
