There's no way that conversation with Ozzy was that clear and concise.

As for the songs, I'm glad to see some more information, but nothing is really exciting me with these past few announcements. C'mon, full official setlist.... c'mon.

I want more Les Claypool (Primus), Mike Patton (Faith No More), and Ween would be overly welcome. Since each would probably only get one song, I'll list my most wanted followed by my second most wanted for each:

Les Claypool:
1.) Rumble of the Diesel
2.) Over the Electric Grapevine (Primus)

Mike Patton:
1.) God Hates a Coward (Tomahawk)
2.) Quote Unquote (Mr. Bungle)

Ween:
1.) Sketches of Winkle
2.) Mutilated Lips

Also, anyone ever heard of the band The Black Mages? They're a metal band composed of Nobuo Uematsu (composer of the Final Fantasy games) and some other Japanese guys, so just take a guess at what they do.

Metal covers of Final Fantasy tunes. Totally kickass. I'd definitely pay to play a song of their's in Guitar Hero, specifically their cover of "Maybe I'm a Lion" from FF8.
Cool:
Smashing Pumpkins - Bullet With Butterfly Wings
Good song. As long as they don't include any of the Pumpkins' new crap, I'll be fine with their inclusion. Ava Adore would be a great song to play.

Not super excited about these new ones. But I have to YouTube a few of them first.

I appreciate how on the ball you are with the new GH4 updates, Sonic the Baron, btw.

Worst song ever. Someone keeps putting this CD on rotation in the store I work at. I hear it about every other day and it's disgusting.
Yeah, it's their biggest hit. When an underground band gets a big hit, it's usually a bad song, as is the case with Feel the Pain. However, I hope you aren't ready to curse of the greatest band ever due to one bad introduction, give them a try D: (No one that likes Ween, Primus, AND Mister ****ing Bungle can have terrible taste in music).

Despite my disliking towards the song, odds are, it would be fun as hell to sloppily play and goof around with. I've not heard any of Dinosaur Jr.'s other work (that I can recall) besides the album that Feel the Pain is on, so maybe I'll give them another chance. Regardless, They Might Be Giants would be fun as hell in Guitar Hero. Unfortunately, they have the same chance that Ween and Bungle have in making the cut, so I'm not expecting anything.

If only they would make a smaller Guitar Hero spin-off that caters to more underground, or less-known bands...

This list is getting good but I feel it still needs some more classic rock and I'm still hoping for some Beatles tracks. Voodoo Child (slight return) definatly needs to make the cut, as does Hendrix's legendary "Star Spangled Banner". Also, has anyone heard of news about the price? I also want to know if they'll just sell the game disk and let you use the GH3 controller. I know that's missing the point of some of the biggest new additions but RB2 is over $400 and that's waaay too much. GH:WT is good but it needs more tripping.

Its only 400$ in the PAL region.

The list still feels lackluster, also note RB just realesed BYOB from SOAD as DLC, I would'nt be surprised if all of GH4 setlist wont be DLC by the time it comes out.

I find it ironic that everyone is bashing them for copying Rock Band when ROCK BAND COPIED THEM! THE WHOLE IDEA OF ROCK BAND IS A COMPLETE COPY OF GUITAR HERO.

Huh, so no word of releasing the disk only? I also said "getting there", and I also thinks it still is kind of bad a needs some rock anthems.

Wow.
Lemme set you straight here.

Harmonix made Guitar Hero 1, 2, and RTE.

Then they handed the GH franchise to Activision so as to have more time to work with Rock Band.

Now Activision is just following suit with Harmonix -again- and adding instruments.

Right now, this game is the one I'm most hyped for this year. The track list looks good so far, the music studio and character creator seem promising, and hopefully DLC will be good on Wii.

Guitar Hero: Underground / College-Rock Band would be win.

I can't believe Sammy Hagar, my arch nemesis in the music world, made it in.

let's see

An Inexperienced Developer comes in and makes a crappy clone of a game in which a quite experienced developer created, then it sells better and people like it even though its flaws are numerous and important.

Then the same developer makes a nearly perfect game and it gets hate because a bunch of [Replaced nasty namecalling with "GH Fanboys"] think it's "Too easy" despite the fact the only reason the other game is so hard is because of incredible overcharting.

and then the inexperienced developer copies the quite experienced one.

i don't HATE gh, or even dislike it (It's activision [I think they mean Neversoft/non-harmonix guided activision.] i hate.) , it's just... why does it get so much critical acclaim when it's clearly inferior?
This is pretty much how I feel about Rock Band vs. Guitar Hero- and I don't want to start any trouble, just explaining why Rock Band fans might give GH hate.

And in regards to difficulty, I would also like to add that unless you can full combo the majority of GH songs, RB is not to easy for you. There is still plenty of competitiveness on the leaderboards and I'll be ****ed if half of you *****ing about difficulty can hit the squeezes or 100% the solos of some of the more challenging songs. Also, maybe you could find some challenge in a plastic instrument that you HAVENT been playing for the past 3 years. I heard that there's drums and a microphone that have expert difficulties as well.

EDIT: Just for the record, the clearly inferior part is of course opinion, and is in regards to RB vs. GH3, not RB vs. GHWT or RB2 vs. GHWT. The only complaint I have with GHWT is that it copies rock band and will undoubtedly sell more than RB2.

I guess I just like the direction RB2 is going more, as well as having Harmonix, a team of musicians working on it, instead of the people that ruined Tony Hawk.

Meh. They're alright songs, but definitely not Tool's defining moments, if you know what I mean.

Needs more Undertow and Opiate.

Wow, RB and WT share way too many songs. I probably would've at least rented WT, but I dunno anymore.

It's the most real looking setlist so far, and jesus at the amount of songs Rock Band 2 (Rock Band 1 DLC as well) and this game are sharing if it is the real setlist.

It's missing a number of already confirmed songs (Kravitz, Hagar, Grand Funk Railroad, etc.) In the link it says it was recalled from memory or something but the last rumor was fake as most are so yeah my opinion is unless it's official, I don't really care.

@Youko: The source is unreliable for several reasons:

  • Van Halen, Foo Fighters, and Beastie Boys were three bands who had no songs confirmed according to the article, but all three had confirmed songs at the time. Although they had preidicted the Beastie Boys and Foo Fighters tracks correctly, they guessed the Van Halen song as "Jump".
  • A few days after the magazine came out, IGN had an article confirming "What I've Done" by Linkin Park and "Love Me Two Times" by the Doors. The Stuff article claimed the songs by the two bands were "In the End" and "Light My Fire", respectively. Although the IGN article's claims were used by multiple other sources (Such as the OXM confirmation I've posted eariler), the Stuff claims were never mentioned again.
  • To top it off, Stuff isn't really a gaming magazine.

Not as good as Rock Band 2's, but WAY better than the first rumored set list. Willie Nelson? The only way country could be represented better was if they got Hank Willaims on the set list. Steely Dan's Do It Again? That's almost a better song than Bodhisattva. REM? The One I Love is my favorite song by them. This can't be as bad as I thought, assuming this is at least 60% true.

Noooooooooo waaaaaaaaaaaay.

In The End's just about the only song by Linkin' Park I'll still listen to. It's one of the only songs they have that is unique enough to make up for all the empty angst they have in all their songs. [/one man's opinion]

Not that it matters since I don't think I'll be getting WT anyway. None of the confirmed songs for WT really grab me, and if this rumored list is accurate the only songs on it that would pique my interest are already on RB2 or are DLC for RB.
