also, i've never had a bad attitude in any games i've played with anyone in this thread. just because i'm a designated "enemy of this thread" doesn't mean you need to spread lies about how i'm such an unpleasant douchebag in game. like most of the things i say, this isn't what people want to think, but it's the truth.

i'm aware of this. i say what i'm thinking just like everyone else, the difference is that i don't care if i annoy people.

if you can't accept the things i say because of how i say them, then it's your loss.

diplomacy gets you a long way in people actually listening and agreeing with you, and frankly, that attitude where you don't care how your actions affect others is dickish. I think pretty all the issues people have with you can be traced back to that, maybe if you try to show a bit more consideration rather then being totally self-absorbed you won't rub everyone the wrong way.

But if you don't care what we think, why even bother being here? This is essentially a social thread, the point is having some level of community. If you don't give a damn how we feel, why the hell are you here?

i don't have anyone here on ignore, but you're free to put me on ignore if you don't like me, or better yet just skip the one post every month where i ***** about solo queue.

However, ignore is nothing more then a bandaid, so if you're being a really bad influence, that's not the solution.

At the same time, moreso then your complaining about solo queue, what annoys me is your CONSTANT acting like the victim about everything whenever ANYONE calls you out on your BS. You have no excuse for that, you're doing this in a public forum and you've been told by pretty much everyone that it's unnacceptable based on the standards of our community.


If you like the useful discussion, there are other places to get it, watch wingsofdeathx for example, lots of useful game analysis. Also you could stay here and not post. Or stick purely to relevant discussion about game mechanics, charactters, etc. Why are are you engaging in things related to community when you clearly don't give a damn about what we think?

Because riot essentially removed a defining attribute by changing his ult from a reletively low cd to a reletively high cd. Without that his kit really wasn't attractive anymore. That's why riot is being very careful about doing that with lux.

then i'll leave you with this: possibly my least favorite thing about solo queue is when duo queues think they can treat the rest of the team like garbage. they do this because their actions are "validated" by the other person (whom they are probably talking to/laughing with on skype). they adopt an "us vs. them" mentality and feel like they can do whatever they want, because someone else agrees with it. this false "validation by others" has been beneficial from an evolutionary standpoint, but is actually the cause of a LOT of pain and suffering in human history... but that's a whole other discussion.

that's what i feel is going on in this thread, and it pisses me off just as much (regardless of who it happens to). hate without reason. that's why i don't care if i annoy others. once you realize that what you do isn't good just because people approve of it, then maybe you'll agree with me.

Everyone has characters that they use when they just really want a win, and if I can pick Gragas I almost always do.
I find that most people just play him poorly. You have to be able to do intricate things like using your ult to knock them into your Q, and landing his barrels in lane to harass is almost an art in of itself. For the few players that actually do play him well, it can be hard to pick Gragas because if picked too early he is really easy counter and to bully before he starts blowing up waves. You kind of have to pick him in response to what your going to be up against which limits his usability. When he's good though, he's GOOD.
As long as he isn't up against some garbage lane like Cass, he can get insane CS, and he has very high mobility which in conjunction with his ult allows him to make huge plays.

After the team didn't want to let me play a lane I'm familiar with, purple side Rengar rushed wraiths and hit me with an early level 2 red pot cheese. Our Ezreal trash talked me and started using his ult to farm my creep waves and told me I was useless all game. He and Pantheon insisted on reporting me, even though nobody felt like taking the time to come top to help. I think he REALLY WANTED TO LOSE because he kept insisting on forfeiting at 20, but then he and TF tried to carry anyhow.

I guess I should learn how to play top lane for cases like these. Or I should also be taking red elixir into lane every time until it gets nerfed.

So any ideas on Riot changing the ranked system? I'm not there yet so I can't comment from experience, but I've read up and I think I understand it--but it is pretty counterintuitive and leads to a lot of salt on the official forums.

i think its rather unlikely that it will be changed
there really isn't anything wrong with the system itself the problems come from individual players trying to blame the system for their own shortcomings

Gragas is a total monster. Scarra been owning hard with him. He's just not so abusable that any asshole can own with him now. Plus FOTM as far as I can tell is like 90% based on what M5/Gambit are using at the time.

Also damn man, it's crazy what you can actually do with great map awareness in this game. It's awesome to feel like I'm really improving at the game.

My biggest issue with the ranked system is the trolls in division 5 of all the tiers. Tons of boosted accounts and people who don't give a ****/don't understand what MMR is doing pretty outrageous stuff in ranked games. Other than that I'm pretty happy with it.
