Whoever said it was boring deserves to be slapped with a wet noodle.

I can't wait for Marc to give an input on Shadow of the Colossus.

I could go on and on about how incredibly underrated this game is. Hell, I doubt any of you played it, that's how horribly underrated it is. (I blame ******** game critics at the time)

Seriously, go pick it up at any used gamecube game bin. It's fun as hell. It'll probably never get a sequel though, since you stupid people didn't buy it.

Kind of like all the stupid people who didn't buy Mischief Makers, Mole Mania, the Pikmin games, and the Golden Sun games.

Find me the person who called it boring and you've found me a kid with a juvenile outlook on games who spends waaaaay too much time playing GTA and Madden but will call you a nerd if you are actually lol GOOD at a game that matters.

SotC was basically 16 boss fights. 16 of the greatest boss fights ever. Ok sure the first two were really simple but who gives a **** they were bigger than your house.

I don't think Sin and Punishment gets nearly enough respect.

Oh, and Zelda II.

SotC was one of my favorite games, ever.

Seriously, it makes me sad how many people judge that game without even playing it. :(

Aw, this is a great blog....

Vote: Yoshi's Story. It's babyfied, sure, but it has pretty good replay value what with all those melons and hearts to collect.

I thought no one in the world knew about this game... :(

Acceleration Ninja, Barrier Girl, Blue Beam Wing, Gold Hero, Blue Striker, G Red (and one more I forgot)... That's my team whenever I replay the game. Those are my all-time favorite characters. And I REFUSE to use Gold Hero unless it's a blue one!

I just remembered this amazingly amazing series... the Lost Kingdoms series. I fell in love with the violins in the soundtracks, the GAMEPLAY (!!) was incredible! There was a very very short cutscene in the 2nd installment, but those were some nice ****ing graphics for the Gamecube! I wish there was a 3rd Lost Kingdoms game out with more fame so I could play with more people...

None of my friends knew anything about either Lost Kingdoms or Gotcha Force... :(

Ok, so I played Mischief Makers today.

HOLY ****. This game is AWESOME. I can't believe it hasn't gotten as much reception as other games have (and usually worse ones). It feels like I'm playing an amazing hybrid of Super Mario Bros. and Super Metroid together.

Marina is pretty awesome too. Not as awesome as Vela though :3

EDIT: Regarding JFG's camera, yeah that was probably the only sucky part of that game. But come on, Jet Force Gemini came out nearly a decade before Gears of War :p

YES!!!

Thank you for mentioning Jet Force Gemini! I still have that game on my old N64 and I still play it to this day.

It was like the Gears of War of its time.

Except with more emphasis on item collecting, because it's a Rare game. Pretty much all Rare games focus a lot on a ****load of item collecting lmao.

Vela is easily my favorite heroine next to Samus.
So, is that Vela as your avatar? I haven't played JFG in so long I hardly remember what she looks like.

Even the 2D ones aren't real Sonic games anymore.

Rush is a fun game, but just like Unleashed's day levels it's just boosts, boosts, and more boosts, with a little side of jumping and dying because you're going too fast to see what's coming up quickly enough to react.

The original Sonic games HAD NOTHING OF THE SORT. The only time you're going very, very quickly is if you're speed running them. Because you miss half the level if you do that.

Sega should just let Sonic die, and then I'll just get a Sega Saturn, Sega CD, Sega 32x, and Sega Master System to complete my Sega console set and enjoy the good ol' days when Sonic was actually still awesome.

>_>

/tangent

As for games that deserve much more recognition...

Mirror's Edge - Short, yes. Fairly easy, yes. But this game is amazing (at least in my opinion), and in an age where everyone's adding gimmicks and pretending they're innovative, this game is actually innovative. Great soundtrack, an amazing feeling of immersion, and a beautiful representation of a totalitarian society with the mono-color buildings and even white trees.
Also, gotta love the symbolism of a perfectly clean city, even in the sewers it's basically perfectly clean, except for the few subtle rats you see running around...

Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures - This game is by far one of the weirdest games I've ever played, but it's hilarious and creative. Yes, you will find yourself yelling at the screen when Pac-Man's about to get crushed by a boulder and no matter how much you tell him to "LOOK LOOK!", he doesn't move until he's flattened into a Pac-cake (ahahaha), but seriously, this game is amazing.

I mean, come on:

'Nuff said.

Not only should that game get more respect, it should get its ****ed squeals. The White dingo was pretty much one of those teams in Gundam that saved the freaking earth. And to top it off it was a pretty **** good simulator.
I never had a Genesis when I was a kid nor did I get into Gundam (it's the same Gundam, right?). I am disappointed that I didn't get the opportunity to play it... :(

I'm kinda torn though about sequels for games that never got their respect though since the sequel is very likely going to be very different than what the original was. i.e., I have a feeling a Jet Force Gemini 2 would be more like Gears of War 3. I wouldn't be completely complaining about it though :)

That game was on the Dreamcast.

Vela curb stomping a alien would get owned by a avatars foot. Actually, it doesn't seem half bad.

No fighting or saying "This game is better" in this thread please, trust me I wanted to slap that person that said they liked Zelda2.
Zelda 2 wasn't a bad game. It was just very different from the others and really... really hard.

F-Zero X deserves mention, especially if you're sick of losing because of items in Mario Kart.

XEXYZ was a great game that didn't get enough recognition. It was like Metroid and Kid Icarus combined together but at the same time still its own game. The game overall was pretty good and the music was amazing and still is up to this very day. This came out in the NES era.

Are you serious? Zelda II was one of the greatest Zeldas. It introduced magic, towns. Not to mention it had balls-to-the-walls difficulty back then. Just because it was new and innovative doesn't mean it's not good. Hell, you've probably never even played it. It may be considered the "dark horse" of the Zelda series, but weren't most sequels that way back then? (Mario 2 comes to mind.)

I didn't like it, and I'm entitled to my opinion.
The first one was awesome, they need to bring it back.
But I understand if you like that game, I just don't like it.

Proof: I AM ERROR
Just because you have seen an I AM ERROR pic on the internet doesn't mean you've played it. Hell, I've never played the CD-i games but use the memes all the time.

Miyamoto tries to introduce something new, and he gets lambasted for it. GGs, fanbase.

....lolwut? Dude, I played it, I don't like it. I beat the first temple with that wierd boss and I got stuck then and I just quit.
Jeez. If you like it good, just don't get on me for not liking it.
I'm not getting on you for liking it (And if that is the impression I gave I am sorry).
I havent played the worst rated Nintendo game (Silver Surfer, Fantastic 4), but I'm not hating on it.

Prooobably a game that nobody has ever heard of, or cares about, but like, my favorite game on the DS as of now.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time. It was an amazing game with great dungeon crawling..... I love this game sooo much. So freakin' good.

Just wish they weren't milking the series so much.. but w/e, it's still great.

....Really? I thought everyone knew about that game.....
BTW they have the 4th one coming out in Japan already. It's going to be on
Wiiware for (I think) 1500 Wii points.

Yah, 'cause Pokemon's name is stapled on to it.

But do many people actually like it? Iunno, people who I've heard play it aren't too open minded. They instantly reject it 'cause it's different.

Edit:
But it's like, great if you don't mind the combat system. I really don't see how it can be called annoying anymore  I've personally grown to love it more than D/P/Pt's annoying combat.

Also, explorers of Sky set to release on October 1st. As for the WiiWare ones.. I'm a little skeptic but I don't think I'll let the graphics really bother me to much when trying it out. These games weren't really all about graphics anyways. The only thing that really worries me is how quickly they made these after EOS. Which you could say EOS wasn't really that changed anyways (I assume most effort was put into the wiiware games or something like that)

I tried the first one and disliked it so much I sold it back to GameStop, so I'm not just rejecting it 'cause it's different. I found it confusing, repetitive, and not very exciting.

I've heard that the sequels are a lot different but I don't see how they can be different enough.

Nevertheless, the games ARE pretty popular with the general population. I'm just weird, apparently.
