I tried the first one and disliked it so much I sold it back to GameStop, so I'm not just rejecting it 'cause it's different. I found it confusing, repetitive, and not very exciting.

I've heard that the sequels are a lot different but I don't see how they can be different enough.

Nevertheless, the games ARE pretty popular with the general population. I'm just weird, apparently.
You could say EOS will be different enough, but it really all depends on what you didn't actually like about them.

I guess I'm also wrong about them being underrated. Most people I see online talking about them hate the games though, or just never cared for them =/ (Some only seeing the reviews of the games.. not even playing them).

I'm pretty sure this wont count as hating, but I liked the first one better. It had a better plot and it seemed too hard and too easy at the same time.

I never was a big fan of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games. I thought it was a really cool concept, but ultimately I feel Pokemon shouldn't try to fix what ain't broke. Pokemon should stick to what they're good at.

Although I do believe they should expand. I really enjoyed Colosseum, but felt they could have done more than just allowing you to snag a small number of Shadow Pokémon.

Just a giant, 3D Pokémon adventure would be nice. As much as the constantly spouted realtime battling would be nice, you have to remember that achieveing this with 492 unique Pokémon species and keeping the rest of the game at an acceptable standard could be difficult, not to mention just how hard it could be to balance the fighting mechanics.

Fixed.

Fans have wanted a 3-D pokemon adventure since the GC games.

I myself was hoping we'd see something similar to that when the wii came out but all we got was PBR V_V

Ok guys. Something for you to chew on.

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire

For a game that was released in 1996 as a launch game with the N64, SotE accomplished a lot more than many thought it would. Gameplay-wise, it is quite varied. The first level puts you immediately into the Battle of Hoth while you're shooting down Imperial forces ala Rogue Squadron style. Most of the levels though are in a third person shooter (which you can change the camera to FPS) as Dash Rendar blasting away through various levels. There's a level where you jump from train to train, fly through levels with the jetpack on a couple of levels, and you even infiltrate the sewers under Imperial City while avoiding the wrath of the Dianogas. Heck, we're also treated to a pseudo-racing level in Mos Eisely and Beggar's Canyon to chase down enemies en route to assassinate Luke! There's always something new happening in every level, and it keeps things constantly fresh. Challenge Points in every level plus the great increase in difficulty of the game in each difficulty contributes to a great amount of replay value to SotE, as well as a debug menu to really mess around in.

As a sidenote, when I was only 7-8 years old, the sewer level scared me so badly back then. Especially when I kept hearing the Dianogas roar constantly :(

Jet Force Gemini

The Gears of War of its time. JFG, like pretty much any other Rare game, has an incredible amount of brute force gameplay because of all the item collecting (namely, Tribals) in it. The gameplay itself is not too linear considering there are many sections in levels where you require a certain character to access a hidden part of the level thanks to one of their special abilities. The only real bad thing I can say about JFG is the camera, particularly when you go into the first-person mode to aim. Even still, you get used to the aiming mode after a little bit and you'll forget about it when you're using the huge amount of variable weapons in the game. I still get a huge feeling of pleasure blasting enemies into green jello (or rainbow blood if you turn on rainbow blood) with the Tri-Rocket Launcher. And remember how I said this game was made by Rare? Yeah, that means you're going to be busy with this game for a while. Tribals alone make this game 40 hours instead of just 4. Then there's all the extras, and there's a TON of them to unlock.

The three main characters still hold a place in my heart though. I love them to death. Juno can somehow walk on lava, which I know any videogame character would just die to have :p Lupus has rocket boosters for paws PLUS a personal tank. And Vela is probably one of the most kickass heroines I know of aside from Samus and Marina <3.

A game from a popular series that was heavily neglected: Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. It's my favorite game in the series simply because I think it's the hardest (which isn't saying too much for Kirby) and I loved how they changed the game to a Metroid/Castlevania exploration style. I also think it has the second best boss rush of the Kirby series (second behind Kirby Super Star of course).

Oh God. I just remembered how many years I spent my child hood on that game. If any thing, this is the game that spawned the battle of Hoth in video games.
The most epic part of this game is hands down the duel with Boba Fett. At the time it was one of those moments a Star Wars fan would nerdgasm over.

50+ cool pts for mentioning Mischief Makers. I figured I was like...the only person who ever loved that game.

100+ cool pts for Shadow of the Colossus too. Game was so epic, words don't describe. Especially toward the end....you can tell he's been through hell....

Games that deserve more respect - PowerStone for DreamCast and Threads of Fate for PlayStation.

Wtf @ no WangTang/Falcon/Ryoma in TvC. Both the first and second PowerStone games were amazing and creative in the sense that it was pretty new to gaming in general.

Threads of Fate had the most colorful characters (As in...characters with personality) of its time. Really old game, but it's pretty incredible. Made by SquareSoft (now Square Enix -_-) believe it or not.

Edit: A more recent game; Valkyria Chronicles for PS3/Xbox360 (I think). Innovative gameplay on moderately heavy strategy-wise. It may be because I had just finished reading "Ender's War" by Orson Scott Card for the first time, so I was kinda on my army general ****. Either way, I picked it up awhile ago and I'm thoroughly impressed with the time put into giving the game an abundance of options in regards to HOW you can play without it feeling redundant.

If you've ever played Tales of Symphonia, the beginning will give you a feeling of deja vu.

Valk is a Sony exclusive (I say sony becuase Valk 2 is going on the PSP). If any thing, it was a nice twist on a WWII Era game.

Other games that I think deserve true sequels are Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Rocket Knight Adventures (the sequel was crap in comparison), Mole Mania, Drill Dozer, Kid Icarus, and Gunstar Heros.

appreatly there was a gunstar super heroes released sometime last year, not sure if its a sequal or a remake, I havnt looked into it but it'll probably be ****.
gunstar heroes was an awesome game but games like that arnt made anymore, videogaming peaked at the snes/genesis and has been getting worse since imo.

I found it pitiful how people never seem to remember or appreciate Soul Calibur for the Dreamcast.

I was thinking of SC when I posted that. I personally still play it as if it were new. I'm super duper pissed that SC2 got pushed back again too....

....But not really because they obviously realize it must be perfection to live up to the first. Blizzard definitely puts in the work with WoW funding it, lmfao.

I loved Contra for the Nintendo... I don't know what Nintendo, but it was an old one. It was a hard game, but I could beat it when I was a kid. For some reason, I can't anymore.
