I switched when balling did that also, so you impacted me as well Ballin. That was a while ago though.. I think he was insulting infamousdiablo or kero iirc..

I just don't see how it is beneficial for someone who often comes on the boards, you almost always need to scroll more (it's rare that the last page begins with a new post). Maybe I check smashboards too often (although I don't come as often as before).

And ballin, I'm joking, but I think you were kinda crude, that's why I exaggerated in saying you insulted people lol.

you do realize that it is technically the same amount of scrolling, regardless of how many ppp you display, right? (assuming you intend on viewing the same number of posts in each case, i.e. clicking the "new post" button.)

it's just that you have to do stuff in between scrolling. you need to click "next" twice as much on 20ppp, which translates to double the unnecessary mouse movement, double the clicks, and most importantly, double the loading time!

loading double the forum posts is cheap and quick, but loading actual webpages takes much longer, relatively speaking

there is absolutely no benefit to anything less than 40ppp, unless you're on dial-up

I suspected this was the case after reading your post a couple times!

It's to the right of the giant red exclamation point, and directly to the left of the topic title, which is indented a little to make room for it (square box with a checkmark in it). It disappears when there are no new posts.

I used to do the same thing on another forum (click last post and scroll up to what appeared to be the newer posts) until I realized the painfully inefficient error of my ways.
