Yes. In his position, I would have mod killed Deitz straight away. Or put the game on hold and spoke with Xivii/Raziek/other moderators of the room first before acting. But I would not have let the game progressed because Deitz would have been, from my point of view, very clearly cheating.

And you would have broken your game in doing so. As it stands, cheating burned him and multiple players have him blacklisted without the game being absolutely destroyed by mod intervention, but since you're the experienced host, I guess we'll all take your word for it.

I thought posting my role PM might help Town, I had no idea that the act of posting a role pm was so widely advocated against in Dgames. His modding was fine and fair. Deitz got what he did from the actions he did and it;s perfectly fair.

Fact: I know him irl, he lives a few minutes from me. I still think that blacklisting him is a perfectly justifiable thing. He broke a rule, which he has done before, and this time took it too far.

Coming from a person that deep down doesn't dislike people until they've done something to me specifically (meaning I don't dislike you and have no reason to do so), I'd suggest not thinking like this and just drop everything. I've talked to Ryker, EE, and Glyph a slight bit. From what I see, when they think something, it's kinda hard to make them change that thought. You're not going to end up doing anything, and having this mindset will only disappoint you. If people are disrespectful to you, get a moderator. It's pretty straight forward. Otherwise, just play the game and enjoy yourself and let others enjoy themselves as well. If others lose enjoyment in the game just by your presence, then -shrug-.

Just don't make a big deal about this. If people reach poor conclusions based on your actions and misinterpret your meaning, then it's their fault, and although it's disrespectful to you, there really isn't anything you can do about it. Due to that, I'd suggest dropping this and just keep on playing the way you always have. I'd hate to see you black listed because of something like this instead of you doing something absolutely horrible. (what Jdietz did with the intent of actually doing so. That would be an example.)

@Take shots: Won't happen. There will be people that take your side (I think... in this case, anyways. I'm not sure what else has exactly happened. I've been told before, but I forgot lol), but they won't really "shoot them down", and it wouldn't be because of people being tired of one another. Unless I'm oblivious to it (very possible), the dgames community doesn't really have that problem lol.
