sheik's combos are fairly simplistic, so the "liking" could be attributed to the ease of pulling them off. don't let character difficulty influence character choice

i walk a lot with marth. but lately i've been dashdancing or wavedashing in different situations and so far it's working pretty well.

dashdancing makes fighting ganondorf a lot easier :)

yeah i've noticed you've been walking too much with marf.
which is part of the reason i said it doesn't look like you have the full grasp of his movement.
it just makes marth seem slower.

indeed. and there was still some stupid **** I was doing because of Brawl when I did the barline challenge. I kept messing up my ken combos (like 3 of them), because I pressed the jump button too soon so it didn't register (which would have worked in brawl because of buffering). I think next time if I don't suicide then I can finally beat your mewtwo (lol).

Hmm, maybe I think Roy's WD is easier because he falls faster...and therefore wavelands from DJs are...easier? Also there seems to be a frame perfect one that sends me ^_^ far, which I cannot do with Marth, so atm most of my wavedashes are =< far.

lmao im a scrub

thanks for telling me where the alt FD track is. Stupid Sakurai should've put this track in Barlw to begin with.

Also, what aerial should I use to not get ***** by Mewtwo's (>_>) WD -> dtilt/moar grabs. SHFF tip fair at shield right? How well do cross-ups work vs Mewtwo, and what's the best cross-up typically for Marth. Basically is there anyway to shield pressure Mewtwo easily and/or practically.

And what is his blindspot? Does he even have a blindspot in the air? Like a position where he will almost always want to UpB away?

Melee boards and Barlw boards are so different. Melee boards expect me to know almost everything myself but Barlw boards tell me even "ATs" that have no use whatsoever.

Ironic because one certain game has more depth than the other. Gonna take some time adjusting to that. =/

just ask questions in the melee boards, telling them you're a complete noob.

blindspot? what do you mean?

roy's Waveland is easier, i'll agree.
but his WD isn't.
marth slides a lot further so even a bad marth wd gets more distance than a roy one, lol.

also you don't have to be in the air all the time.
vs mewtwo it's not just about which aerials you should be using since m2 can react if you spam aerials and hit you before you can do them.

Like Marth has a "blindspot" below him since his only option is dair, which you can predict and punish accordingly.

Does Mewtwo have such a spot where he's forced to do 1 or 2 things and that's it?

this is a strange concept to me, since marth's fair and bair go below him.
his biggest blindspot if you space correctly is the royzone - his arm, where there isn't a hitbox.
mewtwo doesn't really conform to simplified concepts such as blindspots because hs nair hitbox goes all around him - but marth can hit him out of it since his sword is disjointed.

because melee is constantly in motion with crazy hitboxes and large areas of space there's not as clear cut of a dichotomy between "this series of moves are safe" and "this isn't". there still is to an extent (ex - if marth is double fairing your shield, you can hit him between the two fairs with a fast move) but it's not as evident as say, a block string where it's guaranteed here or there.

Are Brawl people only trying to get mewtwo advice to beat sleepy? Guys I would suggest trying to learn the game instead of focused on trying to defeat one (terrible) character.
Yes and no.

Yes because I want to be able to beat Sleepy.

And no because I just need advice in general.

I'm uploading videos of myself getting ***** against Rayku. I'm gonna analyze them all and then post them on youtube so you guys can further critique them.

Wow why are brawl people seriously trying to get advice on how to beat mewtwo?

Alright. Here is the best advice you will ever get on that match up.
Play Young Link.
The match up is literally like 99 -1.
There is no way in hell Mewtwo can possibly win the match up unless the Young Link decides to suck and not throw projectiles.

You can omit the latter part of your statement considering you're giving advice to Brawl players.

ohshi- I did'nt even think about that.
EVERYONE WHO IS TRYING TO BEAT SLEEPY'S M2 PICK UP YL NOW.
You guys should be so pro at projectile camping. I don't even have to give you advice on what to do. Camp all day and you will win ;o
And since you all play brawl that should be easy

how is camping going to make me a better player?

also, it was really just a joke asking for Mewtwo help. If I was serious then I would just go to the Marth boards and read whatever is in there. The matchup isn't hard at all. I just need to learn how to play Melee.

Camping teaches you how to take advantage of the fact that some characters can be camped quite hard but some characters. In this case, YL vs Mewtwo. You are a better player for acknowledging and making use of the fact.

rofl @ people trying to get mewtwo advice
the point of the barline challenge isn't how to beat mewtwo
it's
are you able to overcome my mediocre skill with a terrible character with your much better character?
can you perform technical things consistently and with the addition of mindgames?
if you can't do these, you are below the barline

tbh i think billy needs to money match barline challenge <_<

I was playing like crap at Genesis, but I still managed to break your shield. Get ***** ^_~

Also, the vast majority of high-level players will all agree that I'm actually quite good when I'm not playing off <3
I knew you'd find it eventually.

I would like to personally apologize for "trash talking" you. I was in a foul mood, and I felt like I was too afraid of the character I shouldn't have been playing defensively against. I also lost to a sub-par Snake player in my pool.

I was out of line. If I ever do meet you again, I'd like a "rematch" of sorts, though :)

And yes...my poor, poor shield.

oh my god you ****ing idiots. ITS MEWTWO, just swat him a lot. Whats he going to do, marths sword is dijointed, so if you have a brain bigger than a dime just space fairs and run from him and swat some more. How hard is that >_>

Match-up knowledge is match-up knowledge Sleepy. If people are out learning match-ups (no matter how rare and easy that match-up is) it means that those people are taking that game in question more seriously and learning finer points about it (even though it's Mewtwo rofl).

Casual players, even if they play with the competitive ruleset, would rarely ever ask about match-ups, even if it was vs top tiers/advice that might actually matter in the long run.

I thought the barline was about being able to win, and being resourceful enough to learn how to do so. If one can beat the barline then everything else will slowly come into place in regards to how they play.

If Billy was the Barline he'd fair everyone to death. But that match-ups seems more straight-forward than the Mewtwo one.

I think I know why Mewtwo wasn't in Barlw. He can be quite a campsicle with that UpB.

Semi-serious post is semi-serious. Will still occasionally donate $1 to Sleepy.

just play roy like me. that is all.
The last time I tried to find videos of you it was you vs M2K...

needless to say I learned more about why Roy sucks over how to play Roy. =<

EDIT: Nvm, found more matches. Just had to use your name sir.
