Vista Hill.
We need a darker Mario stage.

Seriously , the Mario RPGs are where the darkest part of the Marioverse are , and what stage represent them ?
A sticker star stage.
Forgive me, it's been so long. Isn't Vista Hill that one that overlooks Bowser's Keep? You know, with the crazy sword sticking ominously out of it? If so.....YES.

Hard for me to truly decide on a favorite. Part of me wants to say croco for the fact that we encountered him multiple times. But i also enjoyed belome, bowyer, yardovich, the axem rangers, King Calamari, and a few others.

I really can’t pinpoint a enemy, boss or not, that was my favorite since I liked the bulk of them.

I personally thought the axem rangers were pretty fun.

Also, if Geno got in and ended up with his own stage, what would it be? I think it would be badass to fight on the chandeliers in Bowser's keep with that gnarly boss music in the background.
Axem Rangers were a fun kind of enemy we often don't get in Mario.
100% agree on Bowser's Keep. People say Forest Maze or Star Hill usually (I'd love these stages, don't get me wrong), but my choice is Bowser's Keep.

And yeah, the Axem Rangers were awesome.

Vista Hill.

Vista Hill rendered in 3D would be mouthwatering.

That it is!

As for my favorite enemy in SMRPG... well...

THEY'RE SO CUTE!
I'm serious, the first time I saw these guys I thought they were just a background detail or something because I didn't know they could attack.

Yeah, it looks more like two E3 reveals seems more likely. I know it's a pipe dream that won't happen, but god, imagine a Geno and Banjo dual reveal. Swoooon.
Other thing I noticed is that Nintendo still hasn't posted their E3 time. Makes me wonder if they're gonna shake it up a little this year.

Also Claus/Ninten and Geno plz.

Do Croco and Yaridovich count? I always liked these guys.

If not I really do like the snifit design in this game.

View attachment 214330
Yeah, they can count :D

Snifits are funny.

Hmm...what does he mean by one more thing!?? My guess is either a new mode or an individual DLC fighter.

Edit: Oh, wait, this message was a few months ago, so it might've been referring to stage builder that was already revealed.

Not gonna lie this is the mood of the evening for me.

Is it that Thunder Productions guy out of curiosity? Dude literally lives in Laxchris’s comment section just to be a jerk to those that disagree with him. God forbid if you want Rayman or he’ll pelt you with “t r u t h” bombs about him being a spirit so give up. Had a few encounters with him myself.
Yes actually lol. He legit makes my blood boil. I honestly feel much better knowing I'm not the only one who has dealt with them. I just dont understand how people can be so awful just because.

For as much as I dont want a certain character, I dont poo poo people who want them. And if they get in so be it.

Ok, with all this talk of the axem rangers, it reminded me of the EPIC AF three-way battle between Team Mario (Mario, Luigi, Sonic and Shadow), the Koopa Troopa Bros and the Axem Rangers X in the old Youtube fan-made show "Mario Bros Z". The show was a spoof of Dragon Ball Z with 2-D sprites but the fighting choreography and music were off the hook. I wish I could paste in the link but my work computer has Youtube banned. Seriously, look it up. The three groups battle it out on Yoshi's Island and wreak some beautiful destruction. Aaaahhh good times...

That would be so crazy, especially that the DLC reveal would cater to old-school video game fans. Most nu-school fans don't understand why we like them in the first place.

Ah dang, its an old post lol

To be fair, Erdrick would also cater well to older audiences. Persona 5 is definitely a more teen-to-adult geared series, as well. Given the statistics of the Switch veering towards older audiences in general, it makes sense that they'd choose characters that appeal to that demographic. Erdrick, Geno, and Banjo are three characters that would absolutely fit that mold, just as Joker does, even if Joker has plenty more recency and relevancy.

This seems like solid evidence we'll get characters 2 and 3 revealed together, whenever that is.

Ah right ! I wanted to answer that my favorite Mario RPG enemy is probably a tie between the really chubby Paratroopas (thought they were so cute I felt bad killing them)

And of course you can guess from my username, I was very much impressed by the Mastadoom enemy in Star Hill

Also not sure how you count him but i love Johnathan Jones!

As far as regular enemies go, I guess the ones that stick out the most to me are the enigma/Gorgon enemies (small bat pig enemies that join together to make a bigger bat pig), and Mastadoom (skeletal mastadon enemy on Star Hill).

As for bosses (not counting Smithy because he's obviously the best), Czar Dragon and the Axem rangers are some of coolest (Barrel Volcano was awesome).

Speaking of enemies, while looking up what ememies were in SMRPG, I found something interesting about the Bahamutt enemy:

https://www.mariowiki.com/Bahamutt

Apparently there was supposed to be a version of the enemy that was purple and had sunglasses. really wish that could have made it into the game because that'd easily be my answer for best enemy if it did.

That's why I thought I'd seen you username somewhere! But man, an enemy called "Mastadoom" is hilarious.

And naw, Jonathan Jones is a friend. But, before you're on good terms with him in the game, he is also a really cool boss.

I'm a dummy ! I even looked back at the art and saw "Zippyskipy" below Genoette cape , and I was like "Wait , do I know this dude/ette?".

I'll correct this mistake ASAP.
Fixed , I'll also add a link to your DA account here : https://www.deviantart.com/zippyskipy
Thanks homie, appreciate it! :D

What are everyone's favorite enemies in SMRPG?
I feel like you have just asked me to pick my favorite child buuut maybe Knife Guy/Grate Guy?
Because 1) I just like clowns/jesters 2) I love the dumb punny names 3) Knife guy thinks happiness is hip and i do too :D

oh and Johnny, Johnny is super cool

and maybe also all the different types of shy guys and the weird implications shysters bring with them.
Did smithy make them? Did he just hire a bunch of shyguys? Where and how does one hire shy guys that all know how to use pogo knives?

I always liked the Shy Guys and the little thieves up on Star Hill myself. The thieves ALWAYS had good coin drops. ALWAYS. And Shy Guys are adorable. They're mischievous children.

I hope like hell you all didn't give up on Geno making DLC. Did something happen? Isn't E3 soon?

Alright Genobros/gals , I need your opinion on something.

Iv'e bought Joker when he was released , just because you can't clip replay including DLC content you don't own.
However , Iv'e grown to strongly dislike him. No outright hate , strongly disliking him.

Why ?

First of all , most fictionnal characters who are humans with realistic proportions aren't my thing. I make exception when I truly love their design or have that big SOMETHING. (Zizou being a lazy goddess with ton of power , Camilla over-the-top hair and sadistic personnality , ect...)
Joker didn't clicked with me.
At least , he has his identity. When I look at him , I clearly see personnality.

The main reason I don't like this choice of character design is , **with the people I play** , these kind of characters are often picked. So this become an over-saturation for me. I'm the kind of guy to pick Diddy Kong in doubles lol. So Joker make this problem even worse. (It's also kind of a trend in quickplay and Elite Smash)

Then , there's his moveset. I can't believe that hitting my opponent is also actively helping him get better. People will say "Lucario lol" , but that's his whole design.
When you hit Joker , his gauge fill up. When he get 70% , he get Arsene. This mean that , if you don't early kill/gimp him , he's going to get Arsene at least once per stock.
So if you play a character that struggle a bit to kill... Tough luck. Not counting that grappling hook is Ivysaur up-b level of bull**** , and that Arsene's up-b has 25 FRAMES OF INVINCIBILITY.
Now , Joker without Arsene is better than some characters. I'm not kidding , he would still be very good without Arsene.
But Arsene just give him something I hate in fighting games "A comeback gimmick". This is personnal , but if your opponent is doing better than you , you should do your best to adapt quicker than him and learn his habits. You shouldn't depend on something like Arsene.
It's frustrating to outplay your opponent just to get caught in 2 strings and lol random F-smash you ded at 70%.

Not counting that Joker don't fit my playstyle.

I could also add that I have no love for P5. The music doesn't interest me either. The stage don't do much for me either.
The only part of the package I enjoyed was Morgana being in Joker's taunts. Because I love his design.

With all of this considered... I wanted to delete my DLC data , since I'll litteraly never use him , and my only friend IRL doesn't care in the slightest about Joker.
Is this kind of mentality "toxic" ?

Why would deleting a character you don't like be toxic? It's okay to not like a character and there's nothing problematic with your reasoning either. What matters is what you want. You're not obligated to keep DLC characters to please other people.

Oh I ain't never. Even the worst I'd feel about Geno's chances is me thinking he's unlikely, not outright giving up. And, personally, I don't really think he's unlikely, I'm confident for his chances. Though, if he isn't in wave 1 (or separate DLC along with wave 1), I'll think he's unlikely, but I won't give up!

If this is considered toxic, then disliking anything in general is considered toxic. Toxic is like "oh lmao this is such a ****ing stupid piece of **** and anyone who likes it is is such a ****ing dumb***."

So, no, I don't think this is toxic.

I don't know that it's super toxic, but more problematic in a few places. It's fine to have your opinions on things, but when you're being bothered by what characters other people play, then yeah that's a little bit of an issue. Wanting to delete him out of spite also seems to be taking things a bit far given that you've already paid for him and he's not really taking up valuable space on your Switch.

It's also just way too early to be saying much on his place in the meta when Ultimate's meta is just now sort of developing. Joker is relatively weak without Arsene, which means that it's hard to fault him too much. His only recovery option is the tether that can be gimped without too much effort and he's just not got a lot of kill power outside of f-smash and up-air. The angle of side-B requires more finesse than most projectiles in the game. His guns don't stun on hit and are pretty weak. There's not a whole lot of base Joker that's super great even if he is plenty decent. He's intentionally designed that way for Arsene. And really, you're playing against Arsene Joker throughout the match. Which means that you need to be making sure he doesn't gain charge from you when you hit his Down-B and trying to prevent him from coming out for as long as possible. He's a little different to play against than most characters in that regard, and then once he gets Arsene it comes down to shifting strategy again. He loses Arsene more quickly as he takes hits, so you're looking to reduce that time frame for as long as possible as consistently as possible. Or just avoiding him, though that's less advantageous since he still has Arsene out for the maximum time in that scenario.

Arsene doesn't completely feel like a comeback mechanic either in the sense that he does charge relatively slowly from non-Down B related sources. And the real big issue Joker faces as a character is that if you don't manage to achieve anything with Arsene, you're in a real rough position. There's a time limit to how much damage you can cause in your buffed form and again, base Joker isn't necessarily all that great even if he can still get in some shots. Lucario has no such issue and could theoretically be in his buffed form through an entire match if the player is good enough at surviving.

You're still free not to like Joker of course, but I do think he's going to suffer the more people get used to playing against him and figuring out counter strategies. He won't be the worst tier or a really bad character at any point, he's got enough in base form to avoid that as far as we know, but his future is still relatively unknown.

Oh, we did not give up and we won't until Sakurai says there will be no more DLC for Ultimate. Even if the Fighter's Pass doesn't have him, even if the costume comes back, nothing is over until the fat lady... er, the great Sakurai sings.

Nothing much has happened though. E3, however, is coming in early June. Here's hoping!

You forgot Yoshi, he was there too. I'll put the link on here for you. Good to know Super Mario Bros. Z is still remembered. That was the best episode, where Mario and the team were having a brawl with the Koopa Brothers and Axem Rangers X, then Mecha Sonic comes in and crashes the party. I really miss those days of the internet...

What are everyone's favorite enemies in SMRPG?
My favorite enemies are the treasure chest enemies: Pandorite, Hidon, Box Boy, and Chester.

The reasoning behind Pandorite's name is also interesting: It's named after Pandora's Box, a Greek legend, basically about a jar that released the world's misfortunes because it was opened by a curious woman that was looking for treasure. The first time you play this game, you never know when you'll encounter one of them; they're some of the toughest enemies in the game, so that's what I like about them because they offer up a challenge.

As for my favorite boss, it is Exor. I like Exor because he's a TALKING-GIANT SWORD!!!
