Wait, what? Look, I actually like Marine the Raccoon, but you'd have to be bonkers to think that she deserves a place in Smash before, well... too many characters to list. Roughly 80% of Sonic's cast deserves to be playable in Smash more than Marine.

I know we are supposed to be respectful and all, but if Geno gets revealed, no force on Earth can stop me from bragging about it to all the haters in Big Papa G's Discord chat. Seriously, whenever I try to mention that Brave could be anything else, there are at least three people who pop up just to say 'It's not Geno' or 'We're not getting Geno' even if I don't mention him myself.

I would rub it their faces so hard they'd get splinters in their nostrils.

I hope Nintendo buys the rights to that whole SMRPG universe with the exclusion for Final Fantasy Culex. That way they can open that universe make it bigger maybe something akin to Mario Rabbids and Mario Odyssey. Would be just an extreme nostalgic orgasm playing through a FULL HIGH DEF SMRPG universe. Nintendo why have you not done this?

I'm glad I've read what you've had to say. You really are admirable and worthy of compliments.
Ironically, I've read this post by complete accident, as the Geno thread is the only link Google gives me ready from having visited it a month ago, so I usually end up here only to switch to the S-E thread. As you may have guessed, I dropped out of this thread. While Geno was not my number 1 pick, I too would have been happy to see him in the game. Heck, Mario has been my favorite videogame series since I was 2, no f-ing joke. And given that the main source of news was here, I came here to discuss the possibilities of other characters as well as Geno, but I felt a lot of backlash for not being faithful and not being 100% pro Geno and stuff. Not only that, but being called out for even suggesting to consider facts that might be bad for our character (heck, even mine has been under fire, but I prefer learning the truth anyway). And a lot of it had to do with this person and some of his/her followers and such, blasting me for simply trying to find out more about the DLC, even if it wasn't what everyone wanted. It felt like a cult, honestly. And this extreme negativity and sensitivity has made me leave this place, as well as even feeling bad for even being an admirer of Geno. I lost a lot of the hype I was feeling for him as well. Bc like it or not, the better part of the fanbase didn't even play the game. And the community is what drives the hype for him more than anything else.
So, with that said, I just wanted to say that you shouldn't feel bad for loving Geno, and you shouldn't be ashamed for being an LGBT person here. You are your own person, and a bright one at that, given how sensible, respectful and moderate you've been. People (at least the reasonably-minded ones) won't judge you because of any group identity. They will judge you for your character. And you've shown quite a good one there. Thanks for the read and sorry for posting this here, but I've got no other choice.

I think it'd be cool if nintendo surprised us with another bonus fighter that came free at some point, like say oh i dunno, Geno coming along free with an SE character.
Yeah I know it's dreaming. But that'd be the ideal :)

You're such a sweetheart for leaving a message like this for me, and I apologize that my messages haven't been open. I actually kinda forgot I closed them when I first signed up because of how shy I am. I've opened up a lot more since joining, so I'll be opening them now.

I'll admit, I was in a pretty annoyed and irritable state of mind with my post yesterday, so it may have been a bit harsh in terms of wording, but golly does my point still stand. It's godawful to see anyone who supports Geno behaving in such a way that is outside of healthy and inviting. Geno is a character that is benevolent and kind, fighting for everyone's wishes to come true, so to denounce peoples' wishes for your own selfish reasons is against what we love about this character. It's... frustrating. Most of us tend to be more level-headed and welcoming, but those bad apples are really sour, man.

Thank you, at any rate, and I'm sorry that the thread didn't give you the best treatment. I extend that to anyone else who was treated unfairly here and in the Square thread or... wherever else. I don't know what kind of beacon I can be for the fanbase, but I want to guide us to an era of more positivity and warmth, you know?

It turns out the height stat actually does matter. I'll quote Polar's post from the SE thread:

I respectfully disagree, what would make him really special for most of the fanbase is that he was designed by Akira Toriyama, giving him the face of a MII wouldn't make him justice at all.

Hey, so this isn't Smash or Geno related at all but did you hear that Mario Tennis Aces was datamined and in the files was evidence of Link as a playable character? He was already in Mario Kart so I'm won't be suprised if he gets into another Mario spinoff.

Sorry to say it, but that info was Fake. Someone on the Isaac thread Pointed that out if anyone was curious where they found out it was fake from. It would've been cool but..yeah.

On the bright side if that happened, the Mario Tennis Aces twitter actually apologized for the fake datamine. If it happened with Mallow and Geno, they may at least consider adding the 2 :D

I'm just sitting here on hopes for Gen, my entire Discord's already pretty against the idea of Geno since there's so much not in his favor for once, especially after the Grinch leak and all of those DLC """"leaks""""

This kinda sounds a little hopeless, but we must be in the bad ending universe! Old news, but the Grinch leak was like a one in a million thing, and then it crashed hard.

I still have that shred of hope that he's gonna be in, and if not, if one of the leaks came true, I would be more than happy with Doom Marine.
