Can someone catch me up on whether anything happened in the past 10 days speculation-wise?

The thing is........who do you think is appearing as challenger 7?
Do you think it is Travis Touchdown based on his recent interview of No Comment on Smash Ultimate?
Or is it someone else? (Not someone from Overwatch please)

I dont even really think the recent travis comment has too much of an effect on his chances in smash. Personally i think travis has a pretty decent chance with or without that interview, but the issue i have with the interview is that it could easily be for a mii costume so im not betting on travis, plus if travis does happen i think he would show up later in the pass and not fp7

I woke up, checked Nintendo's twitter and even refreshed a couple of times. Didn't see anything new and decided to eat breakfast.

I come back and BAM! That is certainly some good news! So this is actually going to be a trailer of the reveal and possibly Sakurai announcing when the presentation will be if I had to guess.

This. We've been thinking he might be 7 for a bit, now - refresh me on why we think that is, please?

At the very least, if he isn't 7, please let him survive the costumes once more. Keep us in the running.

Which is fine if we have to wait on getting the character. We've done that plenty of times before. I just hated how they were completely silent on who it was.

But, this is a bit odd considering the pass started in January and here it is 9 months later and potentially 7 is not ready. Of course there were virus delays (although they said that they are still on schedule), so my guess is that 7 was not worked on as early as we thought (which makes you wonder why they released the pass for sake so early).

Other possibility: they still work on three characters at a time, but the actual set was Joker/Hero/Banjo-Kazooie and Terry/Byleth/MinMin. So its 7/8/9 being worked on together and only recently, so 7 is a ways off but that means that 8 and o won't be that far behind 7.

This is definitely a "Robin"-type reveal where it's just the trailer. Sakurai will probably make some comments and that'll be the end of it. I can't imagine it being more than 7 minutes total. Either way, this is promising! In just 24 hours, we'll know who FP7 is!!

I imagine that because it’s only 3 minutes that it’s literally the trailer, a brief comment by Sakurai of when the Sakurai Presents will be, and nothing else. Considering this was the E3 reveal, makes sense since that’s basically about all you’d have gotten from FP7 anyways at E3 as part of the whole presentation.

But don’t care, we made it bois. And exactly on Thurs 10/1 😂

It's strange, that it's 3 minutes long, but I think is Sakurai showing the trailer, and telling us when the presentation is gonna come.

I have a bad feeling the "special message" after the trailer is gonna be Sakurai announcing the rest of the fighter's pass is canceled.

I’ve entertained the idea of it being a double reveal because it’s longer than a traditional trailer, but they did say fighter and not fighters, so that’s doubtful.
I’m banking on it being Geno, but I feel like it could also be Master Chief. I have a hunch that Sakurai doesn’t really know much about him and wouldn’t be able to gush about him like Terry or Hero.

Fingers crossed, Bros. Less than 24 hours.

I don't believe that any of those weird coincidences point to Geno, be it Gamestop, music takedowns, glitches, whatever. Regardless of that: I think he's in and tomorrow is the day. Less than 24 hours left... fingers crossed, ladies and gentlemen!

I think we will know before that. Keep an eye on the insiders, one of them will hint.

The very bizzare nature of this sakurai presents is really starting to put me on edge, it's clearly just a trailer, no discussion, no new costumes, no just a trailer followed by an ominous message. While I think it's safe to say they can't legally cancel or delay the already ludicrous deadline it's clear something is up. I think the most likely scenario is that the release and true presents are going to be delayed and this is just a tokenary gesture like the march reveal. Kinda disappointing but it's what it is. On a brighter note it's possible sakurai is going to be allowed to give us a better insight as to what's going on and give us a better roadmap for how the pass is handled. Multiple reveals is unlikely since it would have to all be in the same one trailer but I think we have a good shot at being less in the dark then we are right now.

In b4 sakurai name drops everyone on live feed and just drops the Mike and walks off.

Coincidentally the Square Enix Sale ends today (the day before the reveal). Hmm...:denzel:

Seriously though, the length of the "presentation" has me seriously concerned. :nifty: Sakurai please.... DON'T DO THIS TO ME!

I think I understand... I feel like they're setting the stage for what happened last fall in how we had a Sakurai Presents following a presentation and I think that's what's going to happen here. That said, we're probably getting something noteworthy on the 8th or 15th so this could be a wild month ahead of us.

Given its 3 minute length, more than likely it's the trailer, and the Sakurai comments will probably boil down to the release date for FP7 or how the rest of the pass will be handled. There's no way they're cancelling this pass

Am I missing something? I don't see where this is being branded a "Sakurai Presents". It's just likely whatever the reveal trailer would be at E3 and then some comments about why #7 was chosen like it has been forever. 4-5 minute video max. Unless they just straight up go into the Sakurai Presents after the trailer.

That said...hype responsibly. BUT HYPE RESPONSIBLY!

3 minutes is roughly the length of a Smash trailer. I'm thinking a trailer with a bit of gameplay. Sakurai comes on apologizes for the delay, says the date of him presenting the character for real and then we move on.
