As someone who finds Gravity Falls to be one of the best cartoons ever made, this happening would be a match made in heaven. I think his brand of comedy would translate really well into the wackier elements of the original SMRPG script.

Quick side note on the Master Chief chat. I see where it has been brought up that Bungie would like to see him in. Thing is, Bungie doesn't own Master Chief. In fact, Bungie hasn't worked on a Halo game since Halo: Reach. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 4, Halo: Spartan Assault, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Halo: Spartan Strike, Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, Halo Wars 2, Halo: Fireteam Raven, and Halo Infinite were all developed by 343 Industries. 343 Industries is a Microsoft studio.

Just wanted to keep people in the loop on him, since it was discussed. He isn't actually owned by Bungie, so I don't believe that is too relevant now. Though, I could be wrong, since he was originally owned by Bungie until the Microsoft/Xbox deal was struck before Halo: Combat Evolved.

As for Geno, I really wish he was in the Blue Spirit Event. I really would like to see him more in the game. I am not even sure if I have actually unlocked him yet.

Same. I know a lot of people believe that Steve has a lot of moveset potential, but I believe that being a Mii Costume would probably be for the best, mainly because of how well it represents the spirit of Minecraft. Given the game is all about customization, right down to your player character, it would be very fitting for both Steve and Alex (depending on the Mii's gender) to be included as a cosmetic outfit for the Mii Swordfighter, who is all about customization.

Minecraft is about much more than customizing your skin. Steve as a fighter would represent the game’s spirit much better imo. Unless you also count dying leather armor and enchanting/choosing different armor and building, there’s nothing else you can customize in the vanilla game without using a resource/texturepack, and even then the game has a big focus on not only creativity, but survival and adventure. Resource-gathering, finding new things, building and breaking stuff, etc. A fighter does these much better.

You can customize worlds too, but still, it’s not the entire/main spirit of the game. Steve’s amount of moveset potential should be proof of this, as while freedom is a big aspect of the game, it’s still focused on surviving, creating, and exploring, combat included.

Skin customization is easily done with different Steve and Alex alts. A Mii would only get to show like one thing from the game.

Also, while Master Chief is undoubtedly an icon, I feel like that's only true in the west. Not saying this means he can't be in Smash (I mean Ridley got in despite him not being too popular a request in Japan), but Xbox has historically bombed in Japan so I don't see Master Chief being particularly popular over there.

It's called being rational, I'm just stating facts, they don't put summonable spirits in the events because they don't appear on the spirit board (a few randomly do AFTER you summon them, but the point stands). It's why Shadow Mario, Fi, and Ruto don't seem to be in the event either despite being entirely blue, they're summonable.

Squid Sisters is a summon spirit, yet they appeared in the "Squid Pro Quo" spirit event.
It has nothing to do with them being summonable.

Geno only appears in WoL, and the summon list.
It's literally just a Geno quirk.

On the other hand, Waluigi is completely absent from WoL, he's exclusive to the Spirit Board.

Droodle I talked about it months ago but Imran Khan is not just some schmo. I think his speculation is important because of his place in the industry and if he considers Sora and Chief to be the "Big Ones" Smash could pull off, it's likely based on things he knows. Keep in my that this was near the beginning of the year and the possibility of Master Chief has grown stronger with time so, even if he doesn't definitively know, reality has gone in that direction anyways.

Nobody said it was a leak. I take it seriously because of the man's position in the industry and how it's likely an educated opinion. Whether he actually knew at the time is irrelevant. The takeaway is that the opinion of a person that heavily cemented in the gaming industry carries a lot of weight and if his conclusion is that Sora or Chief are the potential final showstoppers of Ultimate, it's definitely something to consider.

It's a private matter and involves legal issues that he can't openly talk about without probable violation of an NDA. Of the little I know talking to him and people within our shared network, it's very compelling.

Good sir, none of the Spirit Events in the past has had any summonable Spirits in them. I checked weeks ago, because I believe this was brought up at some point about the cape wearing event. May want to omit that from the list.

No as in, you go to the Spirits page, go to collection then select the Summon icon. NONE of those Spirits have been in a spirit event. WoL spirits have been, but not ones who are from WoL AND can be summoned.

There is a lot of good stuff for Geno, but not showing up for events is not a strong one sadly.

Yeah Kahn was just predicting stuff. When people thought Sora was deconfirmed, they refused to listen to the whole discussion or just didn't where he actually predicted Sora a second before the supposed deconfirmation. It was most likely just an estimation on Kahns end, although why DoJ specifically we will never know. Either way he certainly wasn't leaking master chief or a major character or what have you and I think that can be pretty definitively established.

Just to elaborate further, it was a predictions podcast and that pretty much says it all. He wouldn't let insider info boil down in something like that as it'd honestly be pretty silly. Sora and Master Chief being big is kind of public knowledge anyway

Is there a way we can have this and a few other points stickied somewhere so people understand the discussions that we started over 1000 pages ago? I step in and out frequently and it seems like each time I step back in, someone is bringing Sora's name up again in a fashion of "has anyone thought of this?"

No summonable spirits are on spirit events and Geno is one of them that you are able to summon. Blue Mario (which should be a no brainer for an event like this) for starters is not apart of this event either, so this is not evidence towards Geno.

As others have said, I really don't think this belongs on the list since other summon spirits haven't been in these events to my knowledge. There was also at least one other spirit event with capes that Geno should have been a part of before so I hardly think this has any indication on Geno's chances unfortunately. I respect the list too much for things like this to wind up on it.

I'm not surprised at all. People never actually thought spirits deconfirmed. They were just gatekeeping characters like Geno and Rayman.

There are even people who still think Ridley was too big for smash too.
