No way is that happening but man if it opens up Assist Upgrades I would love that as Isaac would actually have a chance and it would be safe to assume that Spirits also don't disconfirm as if they upgrade Assists why not something less important like Spirits?

I've said this in the Layton thread, but I doubt Arle is happening since Sega and Atlus already have Joker in the pass. I don't think we're going to see the same company get more than one character per pass like that. Personally, I'm more likely to bet on Professor Layton or a Bandai Namco rep.

Lloyd or KOS-MOS as #5 would just seem really weird to me.

Nothing against the characters themselves, but considering that Smash is co-developed by Namco and the pass has already had two JRPG characters so far, making the final character... a JRPG rep from Namco would seem like a pretty odd way to cap things off, in my personal opinion.

I’m personally expecting that #5 will be from a company not currently associated with the base game, and the only reason I even clarify “base” is for the sole exception of Master Chief due to the MCC/Ori leaks.

Okay, I would freaking love Arle in Smash, though. Puyo is great. I can definitely see it happening, too. Heck, I'd say Puyo, much like DQ, is overdue for Smash representation anyway. I'd be hype if she was character 5. I don't think SEGA's gonna be a double dipper in the pass, though.

Yes

Sakurai doesn't care about fan speculation so he's not going to upgrade an Assist just to keep people on their feet. If anything he would prefer people to stop speculating and not bug him anymore.

Oh man, I literally just realized that Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and Puzzle Fighter were based off of Puyo Puyo. Now I'm kinda rooting for Arle lol (after 5 Geno's, of course, but still my friends and I played quite a bit of Mean Bean Machine back in the day).

I gotta admit, with how not-very-far the development was with Terry at his reveal, there is a pretty good chance that we won't see fighter #6 until closer to Christmas time. If they do end up showing them off, then it will likely be just the teaser video only without much if any gameplay to show.

I don't have a hat, but I'll throw Terry's into the ring and say I'll be flat-out flabbergasted if Fighter #5 isn't revealed in Nov alongside Terry in some capacity. Agreed, Joker was developed alongside Hero and Banjo and with Terry being close from being done during the presentaion, I think it's safe to say we don't have any double reveals for pack 5 and a additional character. It would be great to have a double reveal tho.

I second @TheCJBrine in saying that Sabi was acting ****ing weird regarding the Jonesy leak. She started overhyping Jonesy himself and started saying the characters on that leaked list (Maxwell, Claire, etc.) were likely and popular candidates (Geno, Doomslayer, etc.) wern’t.

Then when Brew came out and said the 4chan post was bull****; Sabi immediately started going on a conspiracy tangent about how Brew was lying and he secretely did make the 4chan leak yadda yadda yadda

I used to trust Sabi to a tee, but this makes me a lot more wary of the stuff she says now, tbh
