Also this all but confirms that the Final Fantasy nonsense is only for that series for whatever reason. Maybe because DQ is handled by a totally different team than FF. Still weird though.

I know that everyone is waiting for Hero to drop soon in order to find out if there is hope for Geno, but I just wanted to point out that this coming week could/would be big for Nintendo for a different reason not Smash related. There is speculation that Universal Orlando will be announcing their plans with Nintendo this coming Thursday (August 1st) for Nintendo Land in Universal Orlando. So Hero could drop soon from now till August 4th (maybe), but I just wanted to bring that up since Evo isn’t the only big event coming soon. Just a thought

I've been speculating that possibility as well. DQ content being released tomorrow would be an almost ideal scenario given that DQ games always release on weekends

But you couldn't in Smash 4 which is when that Mii Costume was released. If the Mii Costume is in the base game then there's a chance that they could be DLC, but most likely not and if the Costume was released as DLC then it's not going to happen. You're just setting yourself up for severe disappointment when the Bonus Fighter thing never happens.

The video showcasing Hero could drop with a release date. Also, isn't it technically the weekend for Japan right now?

EDIT: Also that truly stinks for FF 7 fans (myself included). It is probably due to Square handling FF and Enix with DQ

I'm actually kinda excited to give Guv/Eight a whirl. (A Geno Whirl, if you will.)

Also, if the costume drops, remember that we should only get louder, and this INCLUDES for Ultimate. If the costume's in, Geno is not in any of the current DLC plans, but it doesn't stop him from being added to any future ones. We've gotta be LOUD.

I've tried looking for Human characters to no avail... None of the popular party members show up and none of the humanoid final bosses like Dragon Lord or Psaro the Manslayer are there either. I am guessing that these monsters (and Celestia, the whale) all appear on Hero's stage.

I'm guessing the DQ heroes that are playable are the only ones then in this case. Honestly, I was expecting just the playable heroes from the Final Smash or maybe party members from 11 at least. I would've liked to see the party members for 8 at least

I think like with Joker, There might be a "The gangs all here" spirit that features all the heroes that are playable and in the final smash.

Basically Geno's chances get shot to Hell if the Mii costume comes back and nothing but a small miracle would bring him back but his chances rise exponentially if the Mii costume is gone.

We know the stinginess and/or copyright hell situation is really just FF and possibly Squaresoft localized. Enix doesn't seem to have an issue with all the DQ content.

I agree. Nintendo already has the Mii costume ready and waiting to port at the very very least. To deny us even that much would be a total slap in the face,, and frankly, such a scenario would be more than enough proof that either Sakurai, Nintendo or SE has decided to kill his chances completely. I honestly couldn't think of a logical reason why they would do such a thing unless it was to purposefully kill our hope. I mean, it would literally be free money to just release something that already exists. That said, I still think that if we DON'T see the costume, it's actually a really good sign. The only other reason I can think to NOT give us the costume would be if the real Geno was on his way.

I recall most of that being done by one person specifically. Or at least, for any egregious amount of time. I had a bit of fear of Toriyama in that regard for a while, but that subsided when more info was passed around.

True, and the fact that Sakurai was able to get all the protags together did that even more so. Really, we should just not underestimate the lengths Sakurai will go to.

For what it’s worth they lent the IP to Koei Tecmo for Musou, and they had Intelligent Systems make a DQ strategy game (not even kidding).

Even worse that a lot of that was being spread by a fellow Geno fan.

Oh, I've seen some people become turned off from Geno because of it. That was literally stated by some people in the thread. I've mostly let it go, though, but it was definitely not a great time lol. It is funny to look back on, though.
