Went back and crunched some numbers.
There were 621 days between the OP of Brawl's thread and the last message sent on the thread, with 441 pages in total.
Since the release of the Ultimate trailer and now (170 days), we have 100 pages. (The first few messages were made when the OP was created, about a year before the announcement of Ultimate.)

Brawl sets up at about .7 pages per day.
We sit at .59. We're catching up.

EDIT: Coincidentally my post bumped us to page 101. Fixed my math.

Thank you for doing that. I know that Brawl had a much longer time frame to post so being able to see the average number of posts per day puts things into perspective.

Speaking Of things in SMRPG that some people never did, how many of you actually used Bowser in your party a lot?, from what I saw he seems pretty unpopular with lets plays and stuff

As with most RPGs, I like to mix around and try use all characters as much as possible. The team I've used the most through my playthroughs, and the one I like to use for the final battles is Mario/Bowser/Peach.

It was always just cool to see Mario, Peach, and Bowser together and not going through their usual shenanigans and working together.

You know, I want to make a correction. If Geno gets announced, I am gonna be watching this non stop. It's hype enough as is, but after a reveal like that the song will hold that much more "Oomph."

That was an excellently edited video. Makes me remember just how awesome SSE's cutscenes were...Sheik punching the Arwing and Kirby one-shotting the Subspace Gunship were some of the coolest scenes in Smash, ever.

I need Geno's trailer to be at least that awesome. I have no doubt it will be.

For the record, I have no idea what I'm gonna do when Geno is revealed...I already played SMRPG from all the hype. I'll probably come here and watch the page count jump ten pages before I get a post in, lol.

What I’d love to happen when Geno’s revealed is for Nintendo to finally obtain his rights and there be a resurgence of popularity for an SMRPG sequel... not only that, I would die for them to bring Geno into the Mario Canon.

Imagine Geno as Rosalina’s knight/champion or something!!!

As a character in Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Rabbids crossover DLC, etc.

I could see something like a pseudo-remake like with A Link Between Worlds, where it's a new story but set in the same world and with many of the same characters. Perfect way to appeal to nostalgia while still making it a new adventure.

I can see it. All I know is that we'll know every character before December 7th and they likely won't wait till December to tell us in case of leaks and stuff. So we should know relatively soon!

Geno being the final reveal would make sense to me. With Ridley being revealed in the beginning of the hype cycle and K. Rool in the middle, it would make a nice bookend for the Brawl trifecta.

Most likely. There are still some things we don't know abut the service and it would make sense for a direct specifically on it to take place before launch.

I'd be curious to compare Mario RPG with that of all 3 Donky Kong country games + the one on 64, to see which one is more known. Though also, K.Rool wasn't shown that much until parts of the games, while Geno you get fairly early on for the whole game. So who's to say which one is more noticeable.

Was thinking about it. Out of all of the unique characters that have been revealed with their own trailers (meaning I'm excluding Inkling), they have been done so in chronological order. Ridley was August 1986, Simon was September 1986, K. Rool was November 1994. I'm hoping this is done on purpose, because that could mean that our boy in blue could be next as he was released in March of 1996.

This is probably over-speculating, but they did do the All-Star mode in chronological order in Smash 4, so it wouldn't be the first time they've done something like this. It might also make sense because Skull Kid was revealed in April of 2001 (unless you use him in OOT). This could allow them to reveal Geno in a similar way they revealed Simon, where they can talk about him and the things included from Super Mario RPG, and then end the direct with Skull Kid. Again, probably over-thinking, but I just thought it was interesting for what it's worth!

You're not wrong! I mean there are times where I think things are just coincidences, but a lot of times I think they are pretty smart and know what they are doing. I'm sure they have a plan. Every move is calculated, and I believe everything from the decor in the room, not putting in certain assist trophies or costumes, Twitter post are all done for a reason. They know what they are doing.

The decor and missing assists maybe, but I don't think Nintendo's PR teams know all that much about Ultimate's newcomers
