Puff is all about brickwalls, therefore, I just go to the ledge and wait a while until they approach, if they won't it´s just as good to go for the timeout(lol).
A brickwall there is that it makes the opponent think that you wont approach and that they ever will beat your waitinggame.
When they approach I just bair by a quick turnaround from the ledge, when they get like 30-40 % somewhere, that bair leads to another bair, or possibly a grab in some way, which for puff at the ledge is very deadly.

That basicly means my puff is only fun to use in teams where my teammate knows how to play with a puffplayer.

Gets quite effective against peaches(and Samus) though in that case it´s more like "airplanking" or platformcamping, especially since there seems to be nothing good peach can do to approach.

Any ideas on dealing with Marth in general?

I consider myself to be an ok Ice Climbers user(though Id get my floor wiped by M2K and ChuDat), and I cant seem to connect my moves against him. Feels like Im doing something wrong, and I dont know what.

He's easily the most interesting Puff to watch.

I did the most **** thing the other day :D
Handed my opponent off to Nana (near the edge, but facing away). I jump off (facing the ledge) and she back throws into my Fair.

I just had a thought, is there anyway to Grab > SH Fair > Grab (Out of the Spike)?

It's super hard playing as the ice climbers everyone is sooo gay to them it feels worse than getting chain thrown by sheik for 20 minutes as pichu. I really don't play all that gay as them I don't even really chain throw. it's just they can't deal with projectiles amazingly and stupid things work against them that make no sense. so I think i've given up fighting people who are faster than the ice climbers. However I do like fighting luigi and marth as them.

yeah grim you can watch how to chain throw videos and de-synce info and crap. I mean you most likly don't know all the chain throw not even the one with up-tilt

I prefer fighting fast fallers, easier to combo.

I just use the hand-off, wobble, and dthrow > dair.

I don't really see the need for any others to be quite honest.

I wish I could find the big post that I made about some of my ideas on the Marth matchup. I suppose I'll do a small write up on it though.

Is it a dumb marth that constantly fsmashes, expecting it to do what Peach's Dsmash does? If so, just shield a lot, let him fsmash your sheild, WD out of shield and grab/dsmash. Simple as that.

If its a smart marth, the matchup becomes a lot slower and more infuriating because it seems like there is no way in for an IC. The match becomes a lot of spacing tricks and chip damage with ice blocks, blizzards or isolated hits. Dash attack or WD SHBair in between the fair wall. Ice block if you aren't confident in approaching. Desynch blizzards to pseudo-approach or augment his spacing.

DI and pray while recovering as the only way for you to make it back against a Marth is for him to screw up. However, if you're an atheist(or you just wanna put the delay of the inevitable to good use), think about what happened that stock, the marth's habits, etc while mashing B. *shrugs*

Dumb matchup.

Well I regulary play against my brother, so I could consider him to be a pretty good Marth player.
And I agree, dumb matchup.
Offtopic: I really need to find some more people over here in the UK...

Against Marth, I usually end grab combos with a charged usmash since Marth is soo light...usually kills him in the low 90 percents on FD
otherwise, its a pain in the *** match up :(

I think it's doable. IC just has to work a hell of a lot harder than Marth and they have to squeeze the juice out of every little punish they get.

They have to apply alot more gimmicks to get in. But that's fine because IC has alot of gimmicks to keep things fresh.

So, I'm picking ICs up. I'm technically capable, but I'm basically completely new to the character, so I'm having a hard time identifying when to do what.

How do I... approach? I can't quite identify when to dash attack, WD jab, dair, or some kind of desynch ice block/blizzard.

Any other general advice would be nice.

Is forward/back throw -> ice block (with Nana) against spacies ever legit to do? I have no people to play with right now, but I feel like it covers a lot of options. If they miss the tech, it resets them. If they roll, the block may still hit them or at least force a reaction.

Wobbles did a Back throw=>ice block on YS against a falco at Apex or just before I guess and it worked very well (maybe against Zhu or PP)
I'm gonna try to find that match.

That's another use, but I mean when the throw just puts them on the ground. It seems like if you time a block correctly, it can hit them right as the opponent hits the ground, which will force a get up. If they tech roll away, it could chase them and hit them anyway. I need to test it more I guess.

You can also have her fastfall. Try to judge exactly when you want her to occupy the edge and choose when/if to fastfall accordingly.

Iceblock is mostly useful when you get someone of the ledge with your throw, otherwise it seems to laggy unless you read that they tech away and bunish with that..

i seen uber ice do the craziest thing in teams the other day..he was edge guarding a fox with sopo on yoshi's..he bair'd him off the stage, seen he was going for the cloud, jumped on the cloud and jabbed the fox and he died..it was sick..teaming with icy players are fun

fox icys are a really good team

icys vs marth is a close match up imo..bait the f smash and u win(use ice blocks and wave dash f-tilt)
