I officially deem 2 things all-true.

There are less scrubs in the IC General Discussion than any other character's general Discussion.

DashDance>Blizzard is the hardest easy technique besides Fox running Usmash haha.

It's funny you should ask.

I did, which is why I believe that match went to me. I think it was the grand finals match, maybe it was a random? But I took 1st.

This is PEEF, just did something I've never seen and I've got to tell you about it.

I tried to belay out of shield, but here is what happened.

Both characters hopped into the air, and then from short hop height, popo failed the belay and threw his sh*tty snowball, and nana did her little jump>blizzard just as if she had belayed out of shield correctly. This all happened totally in the air.

??

The ICs can't do the synched up-B when Nana is in her shield. Nana stays in her shield 6 frames after you input a jump command and Popo leaves the ground on the 4th frame after you input said command, so there's probably a frame or two where you can have Popo do an airborne up-B and Nana jump.

Yep, that makes sense.

Do you know anything about the nana shorthop belay OOS?

That's really hard to do with the usual method of doing belay OoS; you need to hold up very briefly when inputting up-B, so Nana reads the input as a short hop. However, this requires being able to short hop with the control stick.

It might be possible via other means, like holding up while shielding and then quickly hitting Y/X and then B, but I haven't looked into this at all.

Nice matches Wobbles, your CGs are off but your movement and reads are super sayian, good trade methinks.

Nice to see that you are still one of the best ICs, I was kinda sad when I had not seen anything from you in a while.

Who sent you to losers?

GamerGuitarist. He plays Falcon the exact way I hate fighting him :/

I got him back in loser's finals though.

Yeah, I haven't been practicing very much lately at all. That tourney I couldn't seem to CG correctly at all, except against Peach with handoffs. Only fought one Peach so... yeah, that really helped >_>

Chu's been really rusty with the chain grabs lately too.
And from the ashes of defeat...PEEF! *crowd drops jaw* hes got the chaingrabs! The cracker of the handoff, the comprehender of the nana-rocket, the gifter of random data to the masses (aka the 2.5 people that read my posts) HE LIVES! Here to redeem all! He has poo poo neutral game, but pro grabs kindof!...ish

Fly, your style is very much on reading and timing when they jump, try to get some way to be able to speed things up, that is what I believe is the most dangerous way of playing ICs, also the hardest since you´ll really need to not be predicted...

i also agree that fly u have made some brash decisions by trying to read someones jump and doing so incorrectly in ur matches, esp vs foxes

sometimes just stay on the ground, dash attak or something : D

u got this, u can start beating lucky again

Yeah, I'm terrible at following my own advice. -_-

After the tourney, I played Mango and got some advice from him. The biggest problem he pointed out is that I often try to fight from bad positions instead of trying to reset a neutral position. He also thinks I play too aggressively at times and throw out too many attacks, which, contrary to my reputation, is probably true in a lot of match-ups.

So, I may not know what has caused my recent slump, but at least I have concrete goals now.

Someone should write a guide on how to correctly "reset to a neutral position" given various "bad positions".

Fly also should still write up at least a little guide on keeping certain chars on the ledge because nobody does it better.

Also, big news, I think. I was looking for ways to get early kills on Ganon since our CG game on him actually isnt as great as we thought. Well, I was practicing Dthrow> fully charged Usmash and I messed up. I accidentally Uthrew, and wtf it was amazing. Instead of the 7 damage the dtrow does, you get the 11 of the uthrow, and they get put way in the air. I think it is fair to say with proper timing, in Fly's terms, Uthrow>charged Usmash is strictly better than Dthrow>Usmash.

PS: Holy crap I can kill Ganon off the top of FD at 59 with no DI. Uthrow>charge Usmash does 29 damage. I think this works on everyone. It is really hard against some characters though. Jiggs, for example. You can kill her off the top of FD at about 30 damage with no DI, but it is tough to hit.

PEEF: That sounds pretty cool, I'll try it out. I don't know why you say our grab game isn't that good against Ganon though; if you don't mess it up it's still pretty difficult for him to escape and even if he sdi's out you can usually follow whatever he does into another grab (as long as you don't ignore it and whiff).

I mmed Kage yesterday and... I got ***** pretty hard. If I managed to get under him it was easy to combo for a lot of damage, but I just couldn't avoid getting hit and then basically losing my stock. Hax told me I approach too much (the same problem Fly is having), and I need to be more patient/work on my defensive game. Next time I'll try camping a lot harder and using more dd/belay blizzards because those actually seem decent against Ganon.

i am finding that nana blizzards + popo sh ice block desynch for defense is helpful in almost every matchup

it doesnt help much with spacies

but for eveyone else its so legit
