Am i the only one who wants his Brawl's forward tilt, and forwar air to return?
Aside from that i'm praying for a revamp.
Why in god's name would you want his forward tilt?

Am glad this is unlike some other sites I've seen where some fanboys act like Demise replacing Ganondorf is inevitable because muh relevancy.
Relevancy wut? Demise is only possible to be in 1-2 Zelda games where Ganondorf is already in several. Demise isn't even from the newest game.....

I want his forward tilt back because as rigth now is the only attack Ganondorf does from Zelda Games, specifically the last battle vs him in Twiligth Princess, plus it's a fitting attack.
Oh wow I feel stupid. For some reason I thought you said you wanted his up tilt :tired: must have been pretty tired when I read that haha

Yeah his boot is an awesome move. If they do change up Ganondorf's moveset I also hope that it stays.

First off, @ Cpt. Cpt. I like your Cpt. Ganondorf thing, it's awesome.

The only reason I like his tilt smash was because it's like Agatio's Stun Muscle in Golden Sun The Lost Age, otherwise I'd rather see him smack somebody with a sword with a vertical slice, like in the game.

I love spamming that A Boot repetitively, it's kind of fun, reminds me of spamming stomping in wrestling games, except better.

If Sakurai starts caring about Zelda canon and adds swords or maybe adds some light armor to attacks, I will be happy.

i just don't want another sword character.
He wouldn't be a sword character , he'd be more of a mix character like Link, in which is kind of how it's supposed to be because the way I look at it in Zelda games, Link is always trying to match Ganondorf power and abilities with his own using items and it should be no different in Super Smash Bros.

Why don't you want Ganondorf to have a sword? It is canon for him to have a sword and it would not make him seem any weaker. To me, when people say they don't want another sword character, it just sounds like they keep getting beaten by characters with swords. MK, Pit, Ike, Marth, Link, TL (6 characters) have swords out of a cast of 37. That is obviously way too much right and adding another character that should have had his trident or sword since his release is just overkill right?

If we ever get a Fire Emblem character with a different type of weapon, then Ganondorf wouldn't change the sword-user count at all. I'd like him to use two if that happens though.

This wasn't directed at me, but as a Ganondorf main, I don't want his sword as it would drastically alter his play-style (unless they didn't change the reach, function, attributes or the frame data of any of his moves).

I have to ask.... do you use him more for the character or the playstyle?
I actually enjoy aspects of both. I was a Captain Falcon main in Smash 64, so the entirely altered perception of the move-set was quite satisfying initially. It was completely different to play as a heavy-weight Captain Falcon. The move-set instantly fit the characters archetype in my opinion and I predominately chose Ganondorf over Falcon in most situations. However, I am a huge Legend of Zelda fan and Ganondorf was easily my favorite character. So the two really lend to each-other in my specific case.

In any event, if they drastically changed his move-set, I fear I wouldn't enjoy the play-style, merely the character. I am an advocate of imputing his move-set to one of my most wanted newcomers, Black Shadow. You would retain the play-style and the move-set, but Ganondorf would be free of his F-Zero shackles. That being said, it is unlikely to happen and Sakurai is clearly taking baby steps. I don't expect many changes to Brawl's Ganondorf, I expect a few, just not many. I don't envision something such as his sword being implemented.

So you like both, and by pure coincidence, they happen to have been put togther. As seen in the Zelda Franchise Discussion, I've been trying to understand people's views on changes from past games, because it seems common for people to latch onto something just because it's what they've gotten used to. It's nice to see a legitimate reason for keeping something the same for once.

I think it's possible for a sword-wielding Ganondorf to maintain largely the same playstyle, but even minor aesthetic changes can make a character feel very different to use, so I can see why there might be an issue with it. I don't see it happening though. I'm ok with either outcome anyway.

I was a Ganon main only cuz of FC. His range needs to be buffed. I do plan on an in-depth changelist I would wish for Ganon with a sword (See my post on the PT thread).

I'm a Ganon main basically because I'm sick of Link, I'd rather play as Ganondorf instead.

I'm just sick of Link, so therefore I like playing as Ganondorf and beating up on Link.

Who said FE had to have another character?

I'd be cool with just Marth and a Lucina costume.

Therefore the only other possible sword characters we could see that aren't FE are Isaac, Takamaru, and I'd think Takamaru might be a Assist Trophy, and Isaac could be playable, but at this point my hopes aren't that high.

With that said I'd rather see Ganondorf evolve into a sword character that uses magic attacks than see say another FE character, or Takamaru.

Actually I think Ganondorf using a sword and magic attacks puts him in a different class, in fact I'd say it would be a similar class as Isaac if Isaac were revealed playable because he uses not only sword attacks, but sword unleashes and Psynergy.

I don't think Ganondorf with a sword compares to sword users like Marth, of all characters that should have a sword, it's Ganondorf.

Your welcome, @ Man Li Gi Man Li Gi you have some good points, I remember the Twilight Princess players guide saying about Ganondorf having this advantage over Link in the final sword fight because his sword had a longer range, and by all means that should be in his move set, same goes with attacks like the energy attack known as dead mans volley, or the fist to the ground thing.

I heard of AzureBlade, but I never heard of Xenoblade, @ Sonicguy726 Sonicguy726 so I don't know who Shulk is, besides the fact that it's Hulk with a S,

I do get a little wary when I hear people talking about Ganondorf's sword style. It so often ends up sounding like "Ike! But with an energy ball." Which is fine, I guess, but I do maintain that I would rather him be fists & magic.

In an ideal world, he would have used a trident in more of his human appearances so giving him that would make more sense, but... eh. Alas, I don't feel like it does. It would be more unique seeming than both fists and sword styles.

He could use both his fists and his sword, I suppose.

I agree with this.

I think if Pit could have a mix up of different types of moves, then Ganondorf can too with a mix up of magic, sword, fist attacks.

As for the Trident, I'd like to see the Trident twirl as a taunt.

If I saw Ganondorf do that, it would just make me wish Ganon was a separate character.
The reason I thought of it was Phantom Ganon wields the trident and he's basically a copy of Ganondorf.

I've always thought of Phantom Ganon's weapon as more of a glaive/polearm thing than a trident, since his weapon is composed of three blades that form a T , not three spear tines forking forwards.

I prefer Phantom Ganon's weapon over a regular trident, actually. It just looks better to me. I always imagined upsizing that and giving it to OoT Ganon would make for the best final boss a game could ever have.

I agree that the Phantom's weapon looks cooler... I just don't personally count it as one of Gdorf's few trident appearances since it's more of a spear designed for horseback than a handy trident.

I wonder if they're ever going to do more with the trident artifact that Ganondorf used in Four Swords?
Interesting that Ganon's two tridents are clearly different.
A double-sided trident could be pretty badass too. (This one looks more like a halberd actually. Guess "trident" is just a loose term for Ganon.)

Well, it's pretty normal for Nintendo to redesign things repeatedly, especially when it comes to Zelda. That's why I never like it when people think a character in Smash should only use things that have been shown in their own games. What's important is the impression, the general idea and feel of the character. So as long as whatever Ganondorf uses has that I'll be fine wit it.

Also, ALBW has a weapon similar to the Four Swords trident.

First off remember, @ LaniusShrike LaniusShrike it is rumored Ghirahim is reincarnated into those Tridents somehow.

@ Kamiko Kamiko actually I always thought it would be cool if Phantom Ganon was playable in Zelda games where we could choose to play as him instead of Link, I'm sure Phantom Ganon would love to get back at Ganondorf for banishing him to another dimension.

I'd be all for Phantom Ganon's trident on Ganondorf, also a Phantom Ganon costume would just rule.

I always had the impression that Phantom Ganon was never supposed to be a fully conscious being to begin with, especially with Ganondorf conjuring up a horde of them in Twilight Princess. But it would be really interesting to see one become independant and help out after being tossed aside like trash.

I personally like the idea of Ganondorf himself being forced to work alongside Link and Zelda because reasons, and there'd be a lot of tension between them the whole time. And if you try to attack him, he just blocks all your swings effortlessly and smacks you across the room if you you keep it up. Or if you stand around wasting time for too long, he'll give you a shove to get you to keep moving. Thus prompting you to attack him and get sent flying. Of course he'd follow this up with some taunting laughter. I see it as a good way to develop his character more without resorting to a sidestory or anything like that.

I totally agree @ Kamiko Kamiko after all Bowser was forced to team with Mario and Peach to stop evil forces such as Smithy, so it would be cool to see a Zelda game where Link, Zelda and Ganondorf had to unite to stop a evil force threatening to cause a Hyrule cataclysm.

I have to ask, when are they going reveal Ganondorf?

They revealed Zelda in December, then got sidetracked, I'd like to see Ganondorf revealed.

Maybe, when is that game coning out?

If they reveal Ganondorf around that time, then people are going to want to play as him in Hyrule Warriors and so far it looks like just another game where you're just Link.

I'm sure it'll come out before smash but there's no solid release date, but one of the big things with dynasty warriors is playing as different characters so who knows at this point

What would be cool is if Ganondorf is to be playable in Hyrule Warriors, whenever we find out, it would be the perfect time to reveal Ganondorf in Super Smash Bros for 3ds/Wii U.
