I lol'd and asked if he used a gamecube controller, to which he replyed "You can use those on the game?"

The lack of accommodations, while not inherently anybody's fault, is kind of disappointing so far. I've got 10 people wanting to go to this (half of who also want to play Melee), and the best that's been offered is housing 2.5 hours away?

I might be able to split you guys(melee/brawl) between kal and I... My house is an hour away from the venue.
