ive read one of the stickies and found this...

fox isnt for you if...

1. You are a slow player by nature.
2. You have slow fingers.
3. You do not think quickly.
4. You do not like winning. It will happen a lot with Fox.
5. You do not want to use high-tier characters. Fox is currently second in the
tiers behind Sheik.
6. You want to be decent quickly. That's why Sheik is here.
7. You think power beats speed every time. Yeah, better think about that
again.
8. You like raw power instead of blistering speed. You should be Ganondorf,
Bowser, or the like.
9. You hate characters with very sensitive controls.

1.yeah im a bit of a slow thinker
2.im slow but not that slow
3.true....
4.i HATE losing
5.i want to use fox
6.eh yeah, but shiek is evil,
7. yeah..
8.i like a power and speed in one
9. definatley hate sensitive controls

dont know what to say....become a falco main?

That's a bit outdated. For one, Fox is currently one of Sheik's worst matchups, and Fox sits at the top of the current tier list as well.

But if you're a slow thinking player by nature, Fox probably isn't the best character for you. Speaking from experience, Falco would be an even worse character choice.

1. Not at all
2. I have fast fingers
3. Just sometimes...
4. I like to win. But I guess it doesn't matter too much as long as I enjoy the fight
5. I love using high-top tier chars
6. I want to be mad quickly
7. I think speed+intelligence beats everything else
8. I like blistering speed more than raw power
9. Not a problem

Oops, I guess that I forgot to change that part. heh

Well, can't win 'em all.

Or something to that effect.
Nah, is OK. Just change this part:

5. You do not want to use high-tier characters. Fox is currently second in the
tiers behind Sheik.

say something like fox is currently top tier and first on the tier list.

Well, old expression goes as this: Don't use someone for just being the best character, use someone to your personal taste.

If you have to, use a slower character. May fit your taste. And heck, maybe add your own style to that character :D

Well you can force yourself to become like those things in the list, it's somewhat true but it cant be taken that seriously. All but one or two things on that list don't apply to me, but I still dislike playing as fox.

Did you just suddenly decide to pick fox as your main or something? You dont look like a noob on smashboards judging by your post count.

8. That's pretty much Captain Falcon.

If you want to use Fox though you could do it. It might be a bit more difficult if your fingers are slow and you're a slow thinker but definetely possible.

Playing fox is about character control. If you can control him well, then it boils down to the same game as many other characters (except that you have a lot of options those chars don't have). If you don't have control of him, it just takes some practice and experience.

All in all, you're still playing SSBM no matter what character you choose. Fox just happens to be one of the best choices because he's got a lot of options, good kill moves, and is FAST. No matter what main you pick, you'll still be playing the same game, it's just a matter of what character feel you like.

I say use someone you like, not someone that seems good, one can make any playable character a very hard character to beat, I like a lot of characters, and Im not too bad with them, but my bro keeps jumping around and cant find someone who he likes that will win, its not the character its the player, and one should play someone you like

As far as technical skill, Fox is the most demanding and not everyone can pick that stuff up quickly. On the other hand, Fox has a lot of payoff outside of just learning the best character. Because Fox is the most demanding tecnically, you'll reap the rewards later when you pick up other characters. You'll know more game theory, have faster fingers, and will already have the experience of learning the hardest character in the game.

You're basically trading hard work for big rewards later.

Use whoever you want to. If you aren't super speedy, try setting up for shine spikes, u-smash, u-air kills. Make sure you can control Fox well enough so that you don't accidentally suicide.

Naws, m2k used to suck, he just practiced a lot and stayed positive..

If you are a slow thinker I actually think the faster characters will be better, because at least they will react around the same time you do, while with the slower characters you will be slow and then your character will be slow -_-

Honestly, I picked up Falco because I thought Fox was too tricky to master for me and I wasn't fast enough anyway; I ended up maining Fox because Falco was too slow.

Just give it a try, don't be hurried. If you're slow, it'll probably take you more timem but that's all. It took me a long time to understand how fast Fox is and how to effeciently use this speed (I've been playing him as a main for 5 months now, and I still don't know :) ).

Anyway, as SSBB will soon be released, picking up Falco would be bad  Go for Fox son, you won't be disappointed.
