im confused. how does anti ban win if pro ban has more votes?
dont be pulling no bush sr bs on me
rofl.
because the SBR has the final word on the more important vote.
This poll only garnished 2 votes (i think) for the SBR poll, but pro-ban needs 2/3 of the votes to win in the SBR.

Amazing, isn't it?

I don't ban MK when playing Brawl+ :)

And I hope the SBR thinks this one through! MK is a little ball of ownership no matter who he's fighting and takes only a little practice to ba a viable tournament secondary or main.

I wonder who's actually going to use him now that he's not banned.

I, for one, WILL start to use him for the lulz, and might even go to a tourney or two and use him to see if I can win with him. ;)

Well DUH, no one picks up a character and does well in 3 days.
Like I said, I would if he wasn't already banned here. I already place in tournies using my mid-tier/high-mid characters, MK would just guarentee me victory every time. But I honestly suspect a high level will. People have looked at EV/Genesis results and realised if they expect to win biig, they better go MK, or at least have him as a back-up. And places that already had mega switching problems (PR, Canada, etc.) are surely screwed now.

Which is the problem everyone has been yelling about as a giant reason to ban him. Well, guess sometimes you gotta live and learn. We'll see...

To be fair, PR never really switched mains. Our MK mainers kept using MK, and our community members who changed to MK due to the ease of usage, still uses him every once in a while.

... The mains place, the regulars don't. And the "wall of shame" keeps randoms from switching to MK randomly, while keeping the mains using MK without meaning disrespect.

how does everyone know FOR SURE mk is not banned?
Well, he's for sure still banned in Texas, at least; Xyro already stated that he doesn't care what the SBR ruleset says in regards to MK. So... we're safe, at least.

Also, lolz at me having an "ungrounded hatred" for the SBR. The SBR is fine; being dishonest isn't.

Well, there isn't any word of their final vote yet....right?...:ohwell:

I've been saying that for a while. At least he's not banned.
Banning MK doesn't delete him from our consoles, the possibility of using him in MK-allowed tournies and friendlies is still real IF he was banned. No absolutes are done thanks to the SBR's final decision.

Oh, and Spadefox has reiterated once and again that their poll is closed and that anti-bans won.

Edit: Darn, sorry. Doubleposted, meant to copy+paste to my other reply.

Unless the SBR suddenly decided that the character most of them main is broken, he won't be banned.

EDIT: I know that. Just saying it would be bad for the metagame if he WAS banned.

In order to change something that is different from the norm, it must be a majority. The SBR also put the notion that the "yes" votes must be 2/3 of all the votes to ban MK.

Why two thirds of all votes?
The banning system has always been like that on this forum

(like the debate "no items vs. items: food only on very low").

He's banned in New Mexico (we were thr first to do it, baby, and we refuse to bend to the will of outsiders), Texas now, and I'm pretty sure Louisiana (or large parts of it) have him banned.

There was no dishonesty in saying that the SBR poll has been closed and that the Anti-Ban side has a lead in it (that's actually more honesty than what would've been good).
You interpreted this statement as "LOL u nubs we all knew antiban wuld winz lololol we jus b mocking uz" or something, I dunno how, but you did.

In fact, several Anti-Ban members (including Inui and myself) thought that Pro-ban was going to win the SBR-poll, as well.
So you can't say that anything stated regarding the results was dishonest.

Enjoy playing a match-up you have zero experience in.

Banning MK does nothing but set you back. Badly.
Except it doesn't, since we''ve had placers at genesis, and Dekar, our top player, walked into Supercon and took 2nd with hardly any Mk practise in months.

Which is what people don't realise-if you stop using the free meal ticket that is MK for once, you can actually strengthen your gameplay with other charatcers. Which sadly many areas of the world will be deprived of now.

I think the point was that practicing other characters can make you better. >_>

The community looked bad to begin with.
Let me rephrase that for you.
I don't think that the community is the right word to use, but instead of community:

The community Brawl looked bad to begin with.
The fact that Brawl wasn't intentionally made to be a competitive game can open up many problems for the competitive consumers. :(

Poor Brawl.
Getting the beat down.:(

And thats the way the cookie crumbles...

One of the main things that I noticed in the essays was that Anti/Pro Ban have still not come to an agreement of a definitive criteria as to what makes a character in Brawl bannable.

Either way I'm sure most people realize that it is just a "recommended" rule set that the SBR-B will release. The TO's have the final decision. Myself as of the rest of FL TO's will continue to run MK allowed tourney's.
