Okay so I don't actually play Falco outside of friendlies and as a result I can do silly unorthodox **** and not throw important matches.

Anyway, if anyone knows a method for consistently getting 3+ hits off a forward air I'd appreciate it if you shared your wisdom here.

All I got is shorthop forward air spaced correctly with forward DI against not short people. Maybe you can throw a laser in before the SH to make the approach a bit safer but I haven't tried that yet.

fair can be used to hit people with. -_-;; also, it lasts a while, you can sometimes surprise your opponent with it.

How cool does it look when you are sd'ing because you fair'ed instead doing the appropriate move?

Edit: The answer? TOO COOL.

I am aware of the overall uselessness of Falco's Fair. However, as I stated before, I only play Falco in friendlies anyway. I don't play Falco to win games. I play Falco to **** around and attempt to do cool ****.
And IMO, full or double jump Fairs that connect with every kick are Falco's coolest **** to do.

iirc someone in eons past said that you can pillar shields with SHFFL Fair --> Shine and time the rising kick and falling kick (only 2 kicks) in such a manner as to make the Pillar "perfect" (unable to be shield-grabbed) but I don't know if this is true or not.

If it is true, I'd imagine you'd have to hit the first one while rising and the second near the bottom of their shield (possibly the lowest possible point) but I really don't feel like looking into it and it's likely impractical anyways.

You can actually string together a move or so from a shffl'ed fair depending on who your attacking and percentages.

if you perfect shffl falco's fair the first kick will hit on frame 6 and the 2nd will hit the frame before you land. you have a wopping 11 frames of (lcanceled) lag. i'm not sure if this is actually safe or not (2nd kick would need at least 4 frames of shield stun)

Chops basically says it's a weaker version of Nair as far as combos go.

On spacies it can combo into Fsmash(DI dependent, but I mean most people will expect the Nair).

Weaker, less range, less knock back and more lag.

Kind of like choosing Doc's Nair over his U-air to combo.

Situational...extremely

I main falco. And for me, the only thing fair should be used for are two different, but constantly occurring things.

When you'd linking a combo with nair, sometimes it pushes them up a little too high to hit them with another nair without full hoping it, thus potentially ending the combo. Instead, fulljump fast fall fair. It looks bad ***. But more importantly; It sends them on a much easier to follow up trajectory(another nair, grab, or what I always go for, laser >shine> try and catch them with Bair)). Thus making your combo longer, more damaging, and flashier looking.

Another thing that works very well. If you have decent tech skill, this isn't very hard to do you just wouldn't think to do it lol. When someones coming back to the edge from a high up angle. they're be DI'ing as much towards the stage as possible. Ledgedrop wall jump to fair. Hold for while it's going until it's halfway done, at which point you would let the control stick go back to neutral for lighter characters. And with heavier ones, about halfway into the move jam the stick back towards the stage. This makes it so that at the right percents, you can hit some characters with a majority of the hits of fair, while knocking them back AND if you can do the ledgedrop walljump without using a jump, it's very easy to get back to the stage. If not, the timing for the UpB is very strict but you can still make it back.

And those are the only two things that I ever try and use Fair for, cause nothing else works and those two look the coolest lol.

that fair pillar has too many points where u could just buffer roll

and holding the cstick isnt that hard

it looks like u can punish it so maybe people will try to and get shined

If they try to shield-grab after the first hit and hold down, they can ASDI down on the second hit (the one that does 5 damage) and grab/d-smash you.

It's pretty gay.

Probably been said already, but I like to use it mid-combo after they can tech dairs instead of a nair.
Nair usually hits them too far to follow up with a fsmash/etc. but fair seems to work well.

lolz

Against people who suck in shield or with low grab range, it's probably okay. But I wouldn't advise its use against Marth or Sheik >__<

Land behind them :D dair/nair -> shine (in front of them) -> SH fair and DI on top of them then slightly behind. L-cancel and continue with whatever, like SH bair if you're expecting them to jump out of shield or lasers if they roll away etc etc.

You're aware people turn around when they get hit from behind, right?
