"I've heard stories about the legendary FIU game room era."

siiiiiiiigh, i miss those days.... stupid chili's >:::: ( and i think what needs to happen is to find a place (or places) in diff locations. like sometimes it can happen at zp, but other times maybe someone can open up their home (and invite as many as they can) and rotate between other places. That way ppl can just come to the practices thats more convinient for them.

I honestly don't know why you guys are still playing smash.

Smash isn't going anywhere. And your scene is dwindling right before eyes. And guess what's next smash 4. Where you guys have to play on a ****ing godzilla sized touch screen controller.

I wish you guys would come and actually play a game that was actually made to be competitive and has a respected scene. I know some of you guys would do well in sf4 or mvc3.

Unless you guys don't feel like restarting as scrubs. Afro did and he's getting a lot better really fast. Even taking that mvc3 is an easy game in mind.

Also you'll have people to organize **** for you lol

Metaknight vs 2 other viable characters. Yeah that **** sound fun too. And I didn't know being technical and having good defense isn't a skill.

Also only good people will be able to play phoneix in a couple months. Gotta know how to block.

Outside of MK Brawl is completely balanced. It's just a shame that he dominates the metagame so hard.

And I disagree about Phoenix. Phoenix and Wolverine will always be top tier. The tools that them good are speed and mix ups that are almost impossible to react to. No matter how much the metagame develops to fight Phoenix she will always be a viable option to win just like MK. The options that make a character good are more important than how good the character performs at any individual time...

LOL

I'm GreenAce HURR DURR I'm an elite player so you should listen to me and what I say.

Don't be an idiot like DC and ask that stupid question time and time again when he should already know the answer. Everybody has their reasons to playing this game. Why you care befuddles me. It shouldn't be any of your concern to begin with.

...or you could play with a CCPro and adjust to that, but you wouldn't realize that with how narrow-minded you sound right now

To each their own. I don't have to worry about this because I've been playing true traditional fighting games since I was a baby to the point I got SF2: Hyper Fighting taken away from me by my parents because they thought it was the cause of my in-school incidents when I was in kindergarten and 1st grade. When I lived in New York for the first 13 years of my life, I was always at the arcades until I had no more change left.

I was fortunate. Not everybody else is, so all you're doing to them is rubbing your elitist mindset the wrong way. That may not be the intention but it is what it is bro.

Nothing to say here. This is the smartest thing you said.

Too bad most smashers don't appreciate organizers doing **** for them anyway. Look at CEO and Pound. This'll still be a problem LOL

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

T.T my motivation in smash is gone...again. **** is definitely goin nowhere
thats a shame

im still motivated to play cause theres goals left I havnt yet completed, community is still mad fun, plus I love traveling, even if not for smash. Smash just gives me a viable reason

if you move up to UCF ill play any game you want with you bro

edit: And im sure i could organize a practice day every week or something. Honestly id still be holding my K.U.B. Biweeklys but the owner of the house isnt too big on having alot of people over. I might start weekly smashfests anyway as those generally arent that large..probably like 8 people

lol

between me and hrnut, we honestly will play pretty much any multiplayer game. Hell, even me and razek were playing single player games together (we played through most of FFIX a few weeks ago)

I want to start something on like...Tuesday-Thursday, or Sunday nights as far as gamefests go. I say gamefest cause people could be playing smash or AE or mahvel or soon to be 3SO (although mostly smash unless jeff or aaron shows up). Im only concerned with the attendance, as I really cant have THAT many people over that often (you note how i can only house 5 people max for tourneys, even though theres much more space around the house)

I'll see what i can pull and try to start something most likely after genesis

Edit: I just had a brilliant idea...

Yeah, I think we should have more of these "gamefests," too. No need to limit ourselves to one or two games.

Xaltis, we still need to play through Tales of Symphonia one of these days.

Lol so pretty much everything Green Ace and DC said is true.
Rofl @ everyone just assuming Green Ace is refering to MvC3. When he says quit brawl for another game, it doesnt have to be MvC3. Play Street Fighter, play BlazBlue, play Mortal Kombat, play Tekken, play Soul Calibur each of those games are significantly more balanced and fun then brawl.

As soon as I can ****ing get myself an arcade stick I'll start dabbling in other fighters (well in MK9's case I'll use a PS3 pad since I heard sticks aren't actually the best setup, and 360 controllers are terrible for it).

Also, gamefests sound fun. We REALLY need to find a way to organize our local communities to play together outside of tournies on a consistent basis. I don't think it even has to be limited to just fighting games; other kinds of games would be fun too. Since last ZP, unless someone were to ask for practice with me, I haven't touched Brawl (I quit wifi, and I don't really see much benefit from playing computers), but not because I'm tired of it, but because I don't have people to play with consistently besides Seibrik (and while I haven't really practiced with him besides the one time he came to visit, I could certainly get some consistent practice with Nick Riddle since he lives on the same street*), and even then they don't always have free time to do so,

On a side note, I've been becoming a bit of a speedrunning *** and joined SpeedDemoArchives. I love speedrunning, it's so fun! :bee:

*I'd mention ESAM but he's moving in a month so... :{

I'd listen to GreenAce. He's actually good at the game he switched to.

Anyhow, in my case, I'm just gonna play everything I deem legit. Why limit myself to just one thing right? Regarding the inevitable death of Brawl, I'm gonna ride the ship to the end or until I can't compete at a high-level anymore.

Benny, do you even want to play Smash anymore if you're unable to get consistent practice? I just want people to know that I happen to be a lucky ******* and have A LOT of free time. I'm almost always available to practice with on any day of the week. We don't even need to play Smash, I'm fine with playing other games if you want to play those instead (1 player or 2 player games, idc)

I've had no one to practice with on a regular basis for about two years. I do practice my tech skill every now and then, but that's not sufficient enough. Barring those circumstances, I still have the drive to compete in this game.

Then again, not everyone is D-Torr.
