Pit's voice would embarrass the gay community.

I don't mean just regular gay people, I mean the all-out sunshine and rainbows "I'm super thanks for asking" kind of gay community.

His voice is THAT fruity.

Maybe, just maybe, there is a CD to be gained that may unlock Japanese language options (audio and menu both maybe?) in the game. MAYbe...let's start looking for it.
As awesome as that would be, why would they do that? And why a CD?

The voices are starting to grow on me already. They put the right amount of energy into what they say, and it seems to fit the characters. Meta Knight sounds more threatening now XD

Ahh, English voice acting. Back when I was 13 and a weaboo I had a big problem with it. Now I realise if things anime was not dubbed, I would never be able to enjoy the likes of Dragonball Z and Pokemon back when I was younger, and now of course.

Sonic - Sonic is OK. Practically the only Sonic voice now 4kids have taken over that I deem satisfactory. I Istill prefer the Japanese voice as it sounds more 'fun' if you get what I mean, like how he spurts out random Engrish and more cheerful sounding.

MetaKnight - I really was not expecting the Darth Vader type voice at all! I got used to it though, and it's OK, if not completely fitting for him IMO.

Pit - This is my least favourite. Even if the young boy voice was what they were going for, Pit does not look eight years old! If he did, he'd be much smaller, so that is not a good excuse for the woman voice he was given.

Ike - I thought Ike's voice was quite good, I just hope 'I fight for my friends' is used at the right place or else I would have to take back that statement.

Pokemon Trainer - I swear my parents came in the room to check I wasn't watching some kind of sneaky Pokeporn when I watched that video! All joking aside, I was worried that the voice would sound too much like Ash from the anime. Fortunately it is not identical, although the similarities are there. The voice fits though, and that's good enough for me. Ivysaur's voice bugs me, it's too deep in relation to his size and appearence.

Fox - Fox sounds a little camp, bearing in mind I'm not an expert on Starfox, having only played the dinosaur one. It's a shame he doesn't have his Engrish anymore, and this voice is a little weak seeing as he's the commander or whatever of the Starfox team.

Falco - Falco's voice was pretty unexpected to me as well, but I've Starfox players say that this is what he sounds like in the games, so if it is, that's good then.

Overall, they're not bad. All the Japanese voices are probably still better though.

Yes, get used to it, and calm down.
It's okay, so what if their voice sucks?
We got used to it in Melee, even though it was near perfect.
So, we'll just have to adjust, and hope for the best.

If we don't adjust, then we will all be terminated.
Good luck.

In Melee, the only playable character to have an English dubbed voice was Jigglypuff (and one or two others maybe, I can't think who though, perhaps Peach). Fox and Falco had simply had their Japanese speech cut, which is why you get Engrish from those two.

People who hate these voices are weaboos and don't know good voice acting.

Albeit Sonic has a terrible voice but that fits perfectly for a terrible character. Yes, even Ryan had a terrible voice for Sonic. The original voice was terrible too.

Metaknight is manly beyond my wildest expectations, while Pit sounds like Sherman from the Mr. Peabody skits in Rocky and Bullwinkle. Fox is meh, Falco is Joey Wheeler, Ike sounds like a pedophile in those last two.

Except Pit's voice does genuinely suck.

And the voice acting is decent at best, if you ask me. GOOD voice acting in English is stuff like Metal Gear Solid, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss, Cowboy Bebop, or Lost Odyssey.

Dismount the insanely high horse and stop dissing people for having opinions. If you think it's good that's okay, but obviously they don't so lay off.

Lol.

I can't say this is exactly "quoted for truth," but it is kinda silly to hate the game's VOs. This isn't supposed to be a localized RPG or anime, after all. So, I agree with you on that one.

Edit:

Granted, there are some VOs that are better than the others. Even you have to admit that Ike and Pit's voice actors make your eardrums trickle at least a little bit of blood.

Still, this is a big thing in the gaming industry, and especially for the wii, so you'd think that they would carefully study the character's past voice(s) and THEN see if they can give it their all and succeed.
If not, they need to find someone who can.
Because, I am sick of SETTLING for SUCKY ACTING and I am ready for SOMETHING BETTER!
So, the next game had better rock, and it had better rock GOOD!
Although, I can't think of any other way it could.

But yes, they can do better than this.
We've been settling for crap for a long time, and it's time fans are shown respect!

Meta Knight is awesome...he sounds to me like the "ghost host" on the Haunted Mansion.
"This chamber has no windows...and NO DOORS!" XD
Pit sounds almost like one of those classical lady VAs from the 50s or 60s except not as good...June Foray FTW. Falco will probably grow on me after hearing it enough. o.o

How so? His voice is the same as a young boy's like in the Japanese version and perfectly fits him. What did you expect, some manly teenager voice? You do know that Pit is supposed to be a 12 year old kid, right?

I've been into the whole VA industry for years now when it comes to anime, games, or cartoons in general, do NOT even try to diss my opinion on it as its better than everyone elses'

It doesn't matter how much experience you have, it has no effect on anyone's personal taste. You're opinion can not be better than theres, it's just different based on your experience.

Saying yours is better is extremely arrogant.

Anyways, my oppinion on the voice actors is as such.

Pit: Pit is okay, I think he sounds a bit TOO femenine, however I believe the childlike beforepuberty boyish voice is what they were going for. I think they could have found a better voice for it though. This one just isn't appealing to me.

Pokemon Trianer: Perfect. It's so awfully annoying. XD That means it's absolutely perfect.

Falco: Falco sounds like my Uncle Franky from New Jersey. I can't help but think of him now. Not a bad thing... but awkward.

Fox: I prefered is 64 voice out of all his installments, however I do think the voice actor did a decent job.

Ike: I realize that this is his game's VA, but he sounds... so... Well, the line's he's saying just don't seem characteristic of a man wielding a two handed sword with one hand.

Marth: Too Badass to learn English. =p Enough said.

Sonic: Is it just me, or does whoever Sonic's VA is have a pattern with most (not all) of his lines... High voice pitch at the beginning, Low in the middle, and higher at the end... It bothered me.

Snake: Perfect. Hayter is greater. =p

1. It's badly delivered. Listen to that victory line, something about "Oh great Palutena, victory is ours". It's flat out TERRIBLE, IMO. Nothing about it sounds good.

EDIT: I should make something clear, the tone of voice Pit has is decent. It fits his age and all. But the way he says stuff (overblown and completely 80's anime) sucks.

2. I didn't diss your opinion. I said your opinion isn't the be all end all, and it's not. I don't care HOW involved you are in voice work, your opinion is no better than anyone else's. So don't pass it off as such, bucko. Again, jump off your high horse because you're not special.

Hopefully your enthusiasm would return, Cjay. D

These are terrible.

Its not quite the same hearing them in a sound test though. I'll wait to see how they sound in game before I decide if their awesomely bad, or just plain bad.

Look, I don't have time for arguing, and I did not know that thread was there in till today. And if I remember correctly my thread was made first.

Lets not take this any further,we can just keep 2 threads, and let this continue to be discussed.
Honestly I do not care who vids they are,I just put them here to be talked about. It's not like I am claiming them as my own.

No. He simply updated his topic with videos already in another thread in the same forums. Even if he didn't noticed, it's a little sad. Sorry if I looked pissed, I really ain't.

EDIT : It's for people like Luteyi I have my sig. Jesus tapdancing Christ. Seriously.
