But I really do think Mewtwo will be left as hidden. I think 4 Pokemon reveals is good enough, considering 5 Mario reps and 4 Zelda reps have been revealed.

I guess ridley could stay hidden as well if his body is still not shown at E3

But anyway it is still indeed possible that mewtwo will not be shown at E3 and not till the 3ds release

Sceptile since:
1.It could finish the starter trio(Fire Water Grass).
2.Gen 3 was never reped in smash.
3.It was my first starter ever(Pokemon Emerald).

My other choice would be Zoroark(Want Sceptile more still) but he was in the many pokemon in the Greninja video.

1.) Is completing that type triangle really necessary? Do we really want to add a character in just for the sake of completing a pattern?
2.) Gen 3 really isn't anymore significant than any other generation at this point. It doesn't need a rep.
3.) Mine was Mudkip.

In all honesty, I don't think there's a really good, obvious choice for a new representative for Pokemon other than Mewtwo at this point. All the other candidates for such a role are either de-confirmed (Meowth, Zoroark), or just seem kind of forced (a Grass starter). I guess that's good news for Mewtwo, though. If we do get six Pokemon characters, Mewtwo is the obvious pick at this point. I don't think he has any real competition for that sixth slot.

But as for mewtwo his chances are still high from fitting all of the criteria of how sakurai picks pokemon thanks to the new movie the hint from him when the guy asked about mewtwo in ssb4 when he said we are considering it

Shiny Mewtwo is an obvious choice for a color swap. There really are a finite number of alt. costume choices for the Legendary, though. Maybe give him a monocle? haha

If he returns, I don't think he will get the armor from the first movie as an alternate costume. His green color should be his shiny form, and I hope his model is updated to be closer to modern interpretations. Most rulesets, including being listed/secluded to Ubers in the omnipresent Smogon. Battle Spot/Random Match Up/Rating Battles (where "everyone" uses him) and certain Tournaments/Friendlies/Open Competitions don't outright ban it, though that's typically because it's a Kalos-native Pokemon (can be caught in game).

Either way I highly doubt competitive anything have any bearings on what Pokemon make it into Smash. Mewtwo (and to lesser extents, Greninja, Lucario, and Charizard) just happen to be good, and would likely remain popular even if they weren't (Charizard pre-Gen VI being a perfect example).

Mewtwo is definitely banned in the competitive scene of Pokemon. In Smash, he's low tier.

Interesting. Nice to see they're still using Mewtwo for promotion. I agree with you about the X and Y pokemon thing; if we get a sixth Pokemon character, it'll be Mewtwo. Nothing else can really match up to him at this point, especially not from sixth gen.

Just to add to that notion; Mega Mewtwo Y is the predominant form that was marketed, the form that closely correlates to Mewtwo's stats (speed/sp attack, if I recall correctly). So it seems like the more logical addition, but you bring up a good point.

Definitely Y. She was in the recent movie, and she was the first one to be advertised.

Sakurai doesn't have a reason not to include him at this point. Mewtwo is just everywhere.

I actually like X better but I don;t care what Mega gets int. Just that he gets in.
