Why?

It's something he could save to reveal between the games. We know he prefers revealing stuff himself instead of internet reveals. Wii U specifics, like Game Modes, are going to be revealed after the 3DS release. Why not a version exclusive Final Smash as well? It's something cool he could show that wouldn't have a chance to be spoiled by the other version. It makes sense to bring it up between the two games.

Perhaps. I won't deny it's a possibility...but we're just going to have to wait and see. Charizard Y is my preferred choice, so I would be ecstatic to see him appear.

Mega Mewtwo Y is the form I feel they'll go with. Like Mega Charizard X, it was the form to promote the pokemon, but also the very first mega evolution introduced to everyone before we knew what mega evolutions were. Also seems to be the favorite of the two and having it would go in harmony with Mega Lucario, and Mega Charizard X.

(I know Mega Charizard Y was revealed before Mega Charizard X, but X promoted pokemon origins and is the most popular of the mega evolutions.)

I highly doubt we'll see any roster changes between the two versions. MegaZard X will be in both versions. If Mewtwo gets an M-evo (likely will) it'll be the same one (likely Y) in both versions as well.

Let's all be honest here. So far SSB4 has 4 Pokemon reps. 5 is probably a number too high for one game's reps. Even If they were to put 5 reps (And I really, REALLY, want Mewtwo. I've been waiting for a Mewtwo reveal since day one) it would be Jigglypuff. Hes one of the original 12 so hes probably in. And the roster is getting filled up with now 39 ( I think? ) characters. Also, Ganondorf and Ness are yet to be announced. And I think we can all agree that they're both going to be in the game and will be revealed sometime soon. which makes for 41 characters. I personally think there will be 48 but even then 6 Pokemon reps would seem kind of ridiculous.

I think you are wrong at every point. I don't think there's a cap to a series reps as long as fans keep demanding them (and we already had 6 reps for Pokémon in Brawl). I also don't think 39 is near the cap this game is going to have. I'm guessing there are at least five vets waiting for reveals (or the game release).

I think Mewtwo is going to be announced in a final reveal trailer the week before release.

You said that there were currently 39 characters in SSB4. That's only possible if you count the different move sets of the Mii Fighters. I don't see why you count the Miis as three separate characters and not the Pokemon Trainer's individual Pokemon.

Sakurai already said that he considered transforming characters like Sheik and Zelda, or Samus and ZSS, to be separate characters. I don't see why Pokémon trainer would be any different.

Also, the roster is not "filling up". They can put in fifty more characters if they wanted to.



The final week makes sense. Mewtwo is by far the most requested character in the game, and his fanbase in Japan is even more vocal. A last minute reveal to bring the hype (the way Ganondorf got for Hyrule Warriors) makes a ton of sense.

And a big one, after Lucina's reveal, Sakurai pretty much said he doesn't care how many "reps" a franchise gets. He just puts in what he considers appropriate.

I'm sure the Ganondorf supporters would agree, if we don't see trailers for the big guys like Wario, Ganon or Mewtwo, they're secret content. During SSBM and SSBB development, Sakurai NEVER showed off the entire roster before release. He always left a handful of unlockables for people to discover.

As a PT player in Brawl I know the merit & meaning of playing PT more than others give credit towards, that you can't consider PT as only 1 character.

The only thing you can say that's a fact is PT is one slot on Brawl's roster.
When you involve their game-play, , , & were all different playable pokemon fighters having different MU's against the same characters.
Example: vs. . PT mostly mostly struggles with the MU because of grab releases, putting Squirtle & Charizard at a -2, while Ivysaur immune to grab releases is only -1.

That being over with, so far so cool on the voting, except for the part when people are inputting mixed replies.

Brawl had 6 Pokemon and 39 characters, so there is no reason why Wii U/3DS won't when we will probably have 50+.

Especially with an SSE-esque mode not being developed, and having a MUCH bigger (and experienced) development team in the form of Namco. I have faith they've worked out the problems that delayed Mewtwo's introduction from SSBB, and we'll see what Sakurai had in mind for the psychic powerhouse this time around.

i agree completely with this. i mean at this point we all know mewtwo was part of the forbidden 7 meaning he was initialy planned for brawl. with all the fans hungry for a return and the bigger development team i think all in all mewtwo has about a 95% chance of a return. the other 5% is sakurai just skipping over him but lets not think about that ^_^

We know not every Pokémon was shown in the trailer, because we have seen Pokémon that weren't in the trailer in-game. Not to mention, Jigglypuff isn't in the trailer.

No @Jiggsallwayswinns69, slots never seam to matter at all to sakurai, only characters. That's why lucina was added and why he counted transformations separately in brawl. This then leads us to believe that sakurai thinks that there where pokemon in brawl and he can easily do six again.

Yeah, can you imagine all the flame? I'm fine with it, I didn't actually assume Mewtwo would be in the game, but the odds are still looking pretty good for him, mostly because Sakurai knows about the demand. While I don't know who else is going to be revealed, if Mewtwo isn't in, at least I'll be happy with Robin. And/Or Ganondorf if he turns out being upgraded into something like his Hyrule Warriors version.
