I've given up hope for Nintendo. An F-Zero Wii is going to suck.

I want another GX styled F-Zero. :(

Same ole same ole ninty has forsaken us bit is getting old and fast. I and many others can assure you that the next F-zero will be great. The last one was great so why should this one suck? Cfalcon is more popular than ever almost certainly assuring a new game.

Might be Homebrew Because the press would be all over that if it was true.
This picture was leaked online so thats why it's not all over. F-zero for wii would be good. I don't really care if it's good or bad i will still get it and enjoy my time playing the game.

Absolute truth. It took a while for F-Zero X to come out, and it took a while for GX to come after that, but they were definitely worth the wait. I think we got somewhat spoiled by having three GBA games released so quickly, but they weren't so great anyway.

Anyone have opinions of what they think?
As for this... It's gotta be a fake. No two ways about it. If this game were really coming out, there's no way Nintendo would use the same Blue Falcon sprites from Climax, even in the earliest pre-alpha stages of development. If F-Zero X had 3D machines, F-Zero DS almost certainly will.

Going deeper, look at the pit area on that track. Exactly the same as F-Zero X. Not just similar, but exactly the same. Again, unless it were a direct port--which it obviously isn't--It would have at least been changed a bit. The low-resolution ground area also gives me pause. I'm thinking this may be a screenshot of that F-Zero X track editor from BGNG.

Also, I'm pretty sure Nintendo is set on the X Grand Prix mode of gameplay. Look at the bottom screen, only three boosts? Sure, they went back to that design in Maximum Velocity, but they quickly rectified that with GP Legend and Climax. I think it's a safe bet to assume they wouldn't try bringing it back. (Not that it's not fun, or that it's worse, it just doesn't seem like what Nintendo would do at this point.)

Still need proof? Look at the dual camera angles. In the top screen, the camera is facing almost straight down, while on the bottom screen, the camera is facing almost horizontal. The distant city looks almost like something Nintendo would do, but since this isn't the N64, I think they'd have something a bit better looking.

As the final piece of debunking icing for this cake, the DS can only support 3D on one screen at a time, or have you forgotten? A rear-view camera on the bottom screen is just not possible.

I know, I know, I hated having to debunk this, I want F-Zero for DS so badly! But facts is facts. I'm sure there's something in development at EAD headquarters, but I can say with near certainty that this particular image isn't part of it.

Its obvious there will be one for the wii.

falcon was in ssb64/melee and both systems had F-zero games.
Blue falcon is in mario kart wii......hint hint
F-Zero has come out on nearly every one of nintendo's systems.......

I expect it in late 2009

Just as long as the wii motion stuff isnt used as steering, it should be ok. Its good, but its unlikely to be quick enough to keep up with the speed of an F-zero game.

I would be surprised (and very disappointed) if there wasn't any F-zero game for this generation (Wii or DS). I have faith that nintendo will make one, if not just for the sake of making more money from an already established franchise.
Who knows, they might even be waiting out to use wii motion plus (whatever it is, I'm not sure exactly what it is or any details).

I hated F Zero GX. maybe because I spent four years hooked on X. I thought the complicated graphics made it worse, there were more distractions. And the music was dreadful and boring. I could get a heart attack playing F Zero X. I couldn't playing GX. It felt too mainstream I guess.
That being said, I'm gonna guess Nintendo screws this one up horribly. They will. i just know it.
But then again, to satisfy me, they would have to go back to just extreme speed and gigantic framerates with a background I could draw in Microsoft Paint and really fast metal music.
I also loved the mysterious characters in X. Their cars and caricatures kinda helped to clue you in on their personalities but finishing 1st was always a big reward because I got not just a new picture but a whole quote which my friends and I would puzzle over for days making up stuff about them. The mystery made it more fun.

I feel completely different. It's like each F-Zero game has gotten progressively better. I loved F-Zero the first time I played it and thought it was the most amazing game in history,, and F-Zero X was only better. But GX just completely blew me away. I don't know what you're talking about with the "complicated graphics", I always loved the detail they put into the game. Just on the tracks there were so many little things to see. And the music, oh the music! How I loved it. But then I like techno, I guess it's jut not for everyone. I would like a return to that sort of glam-metal they had in F-Zero X, I loved the total 1980s feel of the game, but come on dude, load up GX and play the Challenge of the Bloody Chain chapter in story mode. How can you not like that?

Oh, also, if you loved getting the quote from the mystery characters in X, you should have loved GX, they just went one step further with the interviews from Mr. F-Zero. I just have no idea how you could not like GX if you enjoyed X at all.

If F-Zero for the Wii took use of the motion sensor capabilities, the game would be awesome.

I don't think so. I could never like the wheel control for Mario Kart, I think it'd just be worse for Wii. Maybe if it uses them as sort of an add-on control?

Okay I looked into it. I was wrong. It is possible, but not very easy, and it degrades performance greatly. According to Wikipedia

Wikipedia said:
The system is theoretically capable of rendering about 120,000 triangles per second at 60 frames per second...It has a set limit on the number of triangles it can render as part of a single scene; the maximum amount is about...2048 triangles per frame. The 3D hardware is designed to render to a single screen at a time, so rendering 3D to both screens is difficult and decreases performance significantly.
Anyway, from what I've seen of Viewtiful Joe DS, it seems that everything using both screens was prerendered.

The wii one proberly have more then one control method. Gamecube controller, classic controller, wii remote and nunchuck. wii remote side ways making use of motion sensor controlls.

It might be like brawl with the 4 control method to suit everyone.

We can hope, but I'm sure Nintendo is gonna try to wean everyone off of things like joystick control and button pressing.

I'm just afraid of the controls. Star Fox Command should have had amazing controls, but sadly, it didn't. I'm afraid of what the Wii will do with these games. I guess I shouldn't be too scared though, Brawl and Mario Kart Wii had terrible Wiimote only controls, but the Nunchuck controls were really good.

Well, at least that explains why VJDS looked horribly.

But, at that resolution and with that level of graphics, could Fzero DS actually support a tiny rear-view on the second screen at 60 fps? If they don't try anything more graphically charged than Fzero X... (I mean, those graphics sucked) I think it would be possible.

I don't think so, I think the only reason they had that level of graphics was that the N64 could just barely keep that running at 60fps. The DS isn't that much better than the N64.

They'll probably censor out C.Falcon golden nipple
since it'll be too graphic for kids.

Yeah. The cars had like, 1 polygon each, the background was of the quality of early NES games and the tracks were spartanic. What F-Zero X weighed on was most importantly the speed.

I was kinda surprised back then to see how the N64 was able to calculate a whole of 30 drivers and handle that speed.

Also, Lazlo, when reading your posts I imagine the voice of Luigi from that silly Mario World cartoon because of your avatar. lol

my friend plays pro Mario Kart Wii.

One of the best melee samus players, and definitely the most technical, Phanna, uses the Wii Wheel exclusively in mkwii and ***** hard with it (I know this because he plays with my friend).

the gc controller is better of course, but the wii wheel isn't as bad as you're making it sound.

I was watching the credits roll on Animal Crossing > Taro Bando still works at Nintendo!
That means we might enjoy some awesome metal in F-Zero 4!
