Maybe this info will help you guys in the Mewtwo forums. I'll give some detail into my interactions with M2k and his Mewtwo at Canada's largest event this past weekend. I'm a Pit main, wolf secondary.

In friendlies, I couldn't get more than 2 stocks off him as wolf. In tournament we did Pit v Marth twice, then I CPed stadium and went Wolf. He switched to Mewtwo and 3 stocked me handily. He basically killed me off every single grab no questions asked. Uthrow, SH (Delay) DJC fair, regrab, uthrow -> whatever you want. That combo is super consistent and not that difficult so it seems pretty foolproof (and you all know M2k is the king of efficiency). If uthrow sent me on a platform, he would techchase with fair which worked better than any other aerial. Fair's increased knockback made it so that when I crouch-canceled after being sent on the platform (even as low as 30%) the fair grounded me instantly for a free techchase. Ultimately CCing didn't help at all against fair techchase on platforms even at low percents (very very key). He would sometimes teleport fair if he couldn't reach me in time as well.

When we talked afterwards he stressed that he thinks Mewtwo is at his best against fastfallers and that he gets mauled by floaties most of the time (this is true in Melee as well). His grabs don't provide too much damage outside of the FFers (Fox / Falco / Wolf / Falcon) and its tougher to edge-guard floatier characters by virtue of their non-linear recoveries. We both agreed that Mewtwo was better than his melee counterpart but still suffers from a few of the same weaknesses.

Also floating out and double or triple bairing is near impossible to avoid as space animals, take my word for it.

Hope this small insight was useful!
kk thx for the info I'll pull a M2K and 3 stock ur Wolf next time I make it to a tournament k?

Seriously though, thanks for posting this, it's great to get M2K's perspective since I didn't get the opportunity to ask him about it while he was in the country lol

Also look forward for that 3 Stock to be in the OP here once Gimr uploads the videos :p

One of the people I play with regularly uses Ness, and I prefer going Bowser because if we get a second or two free fire breath can heal insane amounts of damage.

For Mewtwo, I would guess that somebody with good aerial mobility would be helpful, allowing you to dtilt close to them because they'll be in the air. Maybe Kirby? I don't really know much, though.

I'm not a student at UCF, but I'll definitely be there for the next event. They're only every month or two though, right?

Is it in the student union again? I can probably go if it isn't in somebody's dorm room.

I would disagree that it is the best mewtwo. Maybe in melee, but whatever.
As far as I'm concerned if it's the highest placing Mewtwo (solo Mewtwo) at Apex, he's the best Mewtwo.

But still, if you can come up with a better/funnier/cleverer title I'll gladly change it.

We could use a quote from the 1st movie. "'Behold My Powers!' - Mewtwo Video/Critique Thread" or w/e would make sense.

Wait, KDJ plays Mewtwo?!?!?! Korean DJ, one of my favorite players?!?!?!?! :O

Was he or Taj streamed? Couldn't make it to Apex myself and didn't see them in what little bit of the stream I saw, but I would like to watch some stuff.

Yesthey were both streamed. KDJ was really good, made great use of Mewtwo's hover. Sometime later this week I'm going to scour Youtube for Mewtwo vids from Apex.

Here's some M2K vids from McSmashter 3 (Canada):

vs Wolf (game 3, 8:20) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxkbmLDvs7Q

vs Captain Falcon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIfrxnnsGy4
Thanks man, you just saved me a bit of time on Friday after my exams are done when I was going to go through the Apex and McSmashter vids!

If anyone wants to help me out in my search for Apex vids of Taj, M2K and KoreanDJ and any other Mewtwo that would be awesome! If not, well, you'll have to wait until Friday for them to go in the OP ;)

First post. I don't so much care about foruming, but I was desiring to collect some of the APEX vids. I watched them on the stream archive, and I've found a lot of them yall haven't yet identified. For the sake of helping out whilst helping myself, I figured I'd contribute.

Note that not all of these are necessarily worth studying... I just posted every Mewtwo player I've found.

Mew2King:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Wd-_9AoYwk vs. Joesidian (C. Falcon, Falco) - Pool
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIMyfeFpggI vs. Crush (Falco, Wolf) - Pool
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXadpooGndM vs Armada (Pitt; game 3 only)- Winners Semifinals
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vebZiFD0UE vs. DEHF (Falco, Fox) - Losers Finals

Taj:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVdHA7ZQepw vs. Chu Dat (Kirby) - Bracket

Korean DJ:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rZO7CpTyKE vs. Ally (Ike) - Bracket
leaving off the KDJ matches vs. Bowser and DK since yall found those already.

Zeton:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QDxNpxtNRA vs. Wolf (Link; game 1 only) - Pool

FlikkFlakk:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIuPW879t1g vs. NZA (Ness; game 1 only) - Pool

CalvinWars:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIsu4W39nt0 vs. Zman (Lucario; game 2 only) - Pool

I believe that's all that's been posted to Youtube so far. I know there's at least a Taj vs. Ally match missing (which can be found here: http://www.twitch.tv/clashtournaments/b/496193395?t=4h59m30s), as well as a Taj vs. DEHF (iirc) in there somewhere.

There used to be a page of Day 2 results that tabulated some of the matches, but it appears to be gone from the internet, so without rewatching the whole stream I wouldn't be able to say what else is still awaiting a Youtube post.

My observations:

KDJ has the most distinct style, but overuses hover and nair. His hover into teleport approaches become too predictable since hover is so short. He'd do well to mix in some SH teleport into hover approaches as well... ending in hover is more flexible, and doing it immediately on SH from ground provides less time for reactive spacing.

Taj plays well, but it seems like he hasn't been playing enough. He does a good job of using the new techs, but hasn't developed them to the extent they could be.

M2K seems to have the most formidable mewtwo in terms of winning games, probably because he's the most developed of the 3 major APEX mewtwo players in general. M2K doesn't do as many of the flashy mewtwo-specific things as KDJ and Taj (particularly with respect to hover and teleport), but plays better overall. Both Taj and M2K played DEHF, but with opposite outcomes (and M2K played him after Taj, meaning DEHF theoretically should have been more familiar with mewtwo vs. M2K - didn't seem like it helped him much).

Dude you just saved me hours of time looking for these. Thank you so much.

Added the Apex videos to the OP, tomorrow I'll get M2K's videos from McSmashter and I'll format the rest of the OP like Taj's section.

Don't let me forget ;)

No problem. I might add that for the 2 KDJ matches you already found:

vs. Strong Bad (DK) was a pool match.
vs. Jamie HR (Bowser) was a bracket match.

The 2nd and 3rd M2K vids you posted (vs. Wolf and vs. C. Falcon) are from McSmashter3. The C. Falcon game there (vs. Euphoria) plays almost identical to the first game he did at APEX vs. Joesidian's C. Falcon. Like, it's so similar I thought for a minute it was the same video. Kinda creepy.

I watched some of Mew2King and Taj's matches at Apex. And my Mewtwo looks dramatically different IMO.
That's not necessarily a bad thing, M2K and Taj's Mewtwo's look really similar to Melee Mewtwo, because of all their time spent playing him in that game. They don't really take advantage of the new tricks like Hover as much as or in the same way as KDJ and you. In my opinion your Mewtwo is as close to a perfect mix of Melee Mewtwo and PM tricks there is so far.
Is that going to be uploaded to Youtube? I don't want to add any twitch archives to the OP as they have a tendency to disappear.

Also I didn't realize until a minute into the first match that you were playing Mango lol. Good Job against him, you put up a good fight!

I like your incorporation of the new techniques available. Your use of hover spacing to bait attacks and cover options during pressure/techs was prominent, especially hover bAirs. I also like the fact that you're a bit more risky with the use of your hover despite it eating your second jump. Your use of Teleport as a positioning tool was refreshing to see rather than exploiting it for an offensive option/exchange (Mango would have caught to that anyways). Just wondering if you would have Shadowball (uncharged) and dTilt camped more if it wasn't Mango? It was a nice change from your Melee Peach.

@Jigglysir. I have no idea. Tho I don't think Juggleguy uploads p:m vids. I never found matches from the UMSmash stream at Big House 3 :(

@ R Rikana . Thanks :). And yea it was very hard to play a ground game vs Falco. I use uncharged shadow ball a fair amount, but i was never going to win the projectile war against lasers. I tried to keep above his lasers so I could get in with Fair and set up combos. As for Dtilt, I felt like he would just cc > fsmash me for that. My instincts just told me to stay in the air as much as possible lol.

Well then the solution is simple, kidnap Juggleguy and make him upload the videos :)

Or maybe just ask him for them, that might work too.

Here is the other Taj match... vs DEHF (Fox) - APEX 2014 bracket match
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHawhabnG7c

@ Wobbly Headed Bob Wobbly Headed Bob : observe DEHF get a solid 2-0 win over Taj's Mewtwo in the bracket, then get dominated by M2K's Mewtwo in the loser's finals.

That's not to say Taj doesn't have a great Mewtwo - he does. One of the best in fact. He'd embarrass me (my execution is nowhere near as crisp as the people near the top of the APEX bracket), but I still think M2K's Mewtwo is the hardest to beat - even if it's not as flashy as some of the others.

The thing with M2K's Mewtwo is that it's the best vs Spacies, but against FFers it's not going to do nearly as good. At this point I'd say Taj is the best Mewtwo overall.

I still like VaNz's playstyle the most.

Yeah, I have to say, Taj gave Ally the biggest challenge, and I think Taj should have taken it. KDJ and M2k didn't quite come as close.

I think the only think Taj may be missing is tuning up a little on the new mechanics, but he doesn't even practice the game.
