Both of those reads are based on meta. The former, that he doesn't cede thread control as scum, is based on a meta I'm not wholly familiar with, while the latter was a single instance. That said, he has been increasingly standoffish as the game has worn on (and the only player he was really working with was Swissdumb). His play has become increasingly suspicious to the point where I am starting to question him despite similarities to a meta he has displayed in the past.

It basically works Prisoner Dillema style. One could choose to either ally or betray the other. Depending on the choice something would happen - we both chose to ally each other and can now communicate.

The ability has confirmation, the alignment does not.

PJB claimed TOWN VACUUM. He was Mafia Void. Vacuum is a neutral term as opposed to the clear negative connotation of Void but Vacuum and Void are the same thing. They are the same thing and do exactly what PJB claimed to be able to do. Gova gave PJB an ability that could be on either side and gave him the fake name "town vacuum" because it's the same thing as Void - it just sounds nicer. That way PJB could claim to be exactly what he was and be able to prove his ability. That's not hard to figure out. Claims don't mean ****. Abilities being "confirmable" doesn't mean **** because they have nothing to do with alignment.

Look at your own role - does your ability alone indicate alignment? Mine doesn't and I know at least one other player whose ability doesn't either.

I like this question. AM, instead of asking me, how about you present something? Also, why did you ask me? Are you unsure? What is your read on Swords now along with the claim.

If one betrays and the other allies ... the one who allies will die.
If both choose to ally ... they will play as neighbors from then on.

Tell me why a scumbag would choose anything other than "betray". There is literally no downside for him in doing so. In fact, I doubt Gova would've even added this mechanic were a scumbag involved as it would hardly make any sense.
